 This time, when I awoke, I wasn't in my room. I was in a cold, pitch-black place, all by myself. I was strapped to a bed, but I was in a slanted, nearly standing position. I could hear machines humming nearby. My breathing was loud and haggard. A machine whirred to life, the sound building and swelling in volume and strength. Shock.
