Okay.

I'm sorry.

I didn't mean to use the word choice I did.  When I said "good writer" I meant use good grammar and spelling.  The plot points are not what I'm looking at.  Sure, you can write about Bella having a baby, and about half angel half merman, whatever.  I don't really care about that.  What I'm looking for is good grammar and spelling.

So, some of you are angry because I haven't automatically validated you in the first batch, but you know you have good grammar and spelling.  Okay.  That's understandable, I suppose.  The problem is, I don't know all of you.  I haven't seen what all of you have written, and so I don't know yet.  Once I see that you've got a grip on things, I add you to the list.  Maybe you didn't know that.  Also understandable.  But please don't flame me for it.

People who can't spell are automatically rejected.  I've given you that chance, let a couple things slide, but the blatant misspellings just detract too much from the meaning of the story.

Crossovers are staying.  Period.  End of discussion.  No matter what you say, they're staying.

Now, I'm going to answer specific people.

twilightaholic - If you see the word "Validated" next to your story, it means your story is on the site.  It doesn't matter if it automatically got there or not, that's just what it means.  If it says "Not" then it's still in the validation queue waiting for my approval.  Also, please don't swear on my website.  I'll just leave it at that.

addictedtotwilight - I'm sorry, I don't think there's any way to fix the review problem.  If I could go back to the previous version, I would, I'm sorry.

Blonde Bella - You got it all completely right.  You're my new hero :)

And finally, shadow360 - Stories take a bit to be validated.  They wait in the queue before I have a chance to look at them.  I am not on my website 24/7, nor am I a robot.  I'm sorry.

Please, guys, next time you have a problem, write a nice comment/email.  You really won't get anywhere by flaming.

That said, please tell me what you think.

Thank you,

Kaiwynn

I'm, and i about exploded. I'm so soooo sorry. I really didn't mean to flame at you. Its just, i had a really bad day that day, and i was up late the night before, and i get on here and (i know this isn't true, the wording just got me confused) it looks as if someone just told me i'm a bad writer, i just about exploded. I'm so sorry for taking that out on you. And as for the swearing--what can i say? I'm a rebel. :) No. Seriously. I was just really about ready to explode. But I am really and truly sorry, now that you have cleared stuff up, i realize that you had good intentions with that. Thanks so much, and WELCOME BACK!!

I like the new rules. It's good that you're cracking down on bad spelling and grammar.

okay, better i guess. i forgive you, i guess....... i didn't know about your word choice- i didn't know if thats how you meant it to come out-which was part of my first comment. it was a bad choice of words- and i don't know if i started it either. i re-read it over and over again and thats what i thought you meant. so i told it to twilightaholic and she was the first one to comment. and so everyone read it. and then they read mine-and the error behhind the words got to everyone. sorry- in a way this is like high school and middle school- you have 2 people haveing a conversation then they have other people here it, and everyone goes with the peoples opion.....i almost feel at fault here. i really am sorry...

Haha, cracking down on the rules, huh? I'm personally all for it. Hm. Maybe you should look into getting some help. I'm sure there's a handful of good writers who would be willing to help you validate things, etc. :)

Yeah, I didn't mean to hastle you on the review thing, I figured out a way to respond, kinda, I just say it in my authors notes. It works almost as well. Sorry for adding to your stress load.

Sorry about flaming out and everything. Yesterday was not a good day and I had just been pushed to my limit of staying calm with everyone that day. Sorrry, sorry, sorry a hundred times over.

How do you know if you are being automatically validated or not?

By Alicecullen

Posted 16 May 07

Yeah, don't worry, I understood what you meant, so it wasn't worded that bad, and I still think that it's a good idea. One question; what does it mean if my writing has another column that says validated-yes, yes, yes, etc.

By DormantHeart

Posted 16 May 07

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask something before along with my apoligies. About the whole validtion thing, for most of my chapters it says yes there are also some with no's. Just a little curious, do I have a lot of errors that would make it so I don't get instantly validated? But like I said, I'm merely curious so I can fix my mistakes.

Ok i am game for the cracking down of the rules...because my one story is so important to me and i know that everyone has read and commented on it *cough cough* but i know that what you intended to say...and for the flaming..i am not one for explosions...but i understand the need to vent but people need to find and appropriate outlet and try not to offend innocent by-standers...so for the rest of the people on the site...i cordially appologize...and i have a question....um...what happens if a story is being automatically updated and you start accidently rushing to update and you make a few errors? just for my own personal curiosity...what can i say...i am very feline *pauses for laughter at lame pun* ok im done ~ForlornFan~

I like the checking the grammar thing, but i think the whole not posting it if there are too many grammar misspellings is a little mean. I mean sometimes i don't have time to check it. And before erasing you could tell the author first.

By twilightforever

Posted 17 May 07

im sorry! i really like the idea of checking the spelling and grammar! will this mean it will be a lot slower when it coms to posting new chapters for newer authors? because i dont think you'll sit online all day validated the new stories and chapters right?

I find it very hard to look through the stories on the site. To organize it, you might want to put the stories under time peroids, like "Pre-Twilight", "Twilight", "New Moon", and "After New Moon." And if you're swamped by validating, you could always ask for volenteers to help you validate

I don't know why people complain so much. I've been on several different fanfiction archives in other "fandoms" and I've gotta say... Kaiwynn's very lenient. Knowing how to spell, punctuate, and use correct grammar is the responsibility of the author. Seriously. If you want to post up half-assed (excuse me) work that hasn't been spell-checked at the very LEAST, then do that in your own space and time. An archive is a collection that's open to the public, which means that it should be accessable TO the public. This means that people should be able to read through your story without wanting to absolutely shoot themselves in the head because of annoying grammer/spelling/punctuation mistakes. Nobody's perfect and she's not asking for absolute perfection. She's just asking that you take yourself and other people a little more seriously and run a spell check that takes less than 5 minutes. It's not that complicated. So... That's all. It's late and I'm a little PMS-ey tonight.

Kaiwynn, i've got a question. I wrote a twilight parody to "I am sixteen, going on seventeen", but it's only 238 word count. It doesn't meet the word count criteria for a one shot, but I don't think its exactly poetry. Have any advice?

I liked it better when you just got your story posted without validation.

I find these rules extremely helpful! I think that the mandatory word count is a great idea. Thanks Kaiwynn. =]

Guys, think about it. When the grammar is really bad, it takes away from the story. Spell check doesn't take that long, so the site gets a MAJOR improvement for very little effort. Relax. Also, I think to find out if you have automatic validation when you post something, and whether or not it is up and posted the second you click the "add story" button.

Oh, and another thing, could you please not delete the story if it's not long enough?? I had a story that was a little under 500 words, and when I came back to make it longer because it wasn't validated, it was gone. It would be so much more helpful if you didn't delete it, just don't validate it. Thank you.

...i want to get automatically validated. How can I?

By awsomealice94

Posted 26 May 07

twilights_charm you can get automatically vailidated by haveing good spelling and gramer. do that for a little while(it took me 2 poems, and 7chapters all together to do that). you have to prove to kaiwynn that you can have good spelling and grammer and maybe when the time is right she will see that.......
