Yes, rules.
I said, on or around May 19, 2007, that stories under 500 words/with bad grammar/with bad spelling would not be allowed on my site. That was two months ago, everyone. Therefore, I would consider that to be fair warning.
I am now taking action. Personally, I'm tired of seeing things that don't qualify as "writing" on this website.
So if your story is blatantly disregarding the rules, I will send you an email. I will be nice. If you do not get back to me in one week, your story will be deleted. Sorry. End of discussion. Unless, you know, you actually discuss things with me.
1) I see that your story is breaking the rules
2) I send you an email
3) If you don't reply in a week, your story will be deleted.
Does everyone understand? If not, you can send me an email or comment here.
Oh, and the cupcake challenge is still going on.

Thank you. Of course, will you be making any exceptions? Because in some cases, the length doesn't determine the quality of the writing. I whole-heartedly agree with the length requirement, this being an open site, but in some of the cases, there are fantastic stories that would simply be ruined by adding more fluff to them. Not all cases, just some. I really do appreciate this rule, though. It sifts out a lot of the, and I hate to say it, bad writing, but it's true. Actually, it's more of under-developed writing, but, well, I've wasted a lot of my time, and a lot of your time rambling on, so I'm going to go put all this writing energy into finishing "Eternally Awake".

No, no, I understand where you're coming from. I've definitely made a couple of exceptions. Usually, it's not hard to tell the difference between fantastic stories and underdeveloped ones. Thank you for your feedback -- I do appreciate it.

on one of my stories the summery is 108 words and i don't think i can cut it down...i'm quite content how it is....could just 8 words be an exception?????

How should we send in our stories for the cupcake contest? My email can't send attachments real well, so can I just post my story on the actual email? And does the story have to center around a cupcake, or can a cupcake just be mentioned?

You can definitely post your story in the actual email. A cupcake can be mentioned or be the main attraction -- it doesn't matter, as long as it's in there somewhere.

i think you said once that summaries have to be under 100 words. One of mine is 105 words, is that okay? Or do I have to trim it down a little?

I have a question about banners. Is there a particular reason why the limit is 300x100? I understand the height maximum, but the length seems a bit short. There isn't border that limits the length of a banner. Is it possible to make the length maximum slightly longer? Maybe 500x100? It would give me more flexibility with the banner :) Sometimes, the banner seems a bit cramped.

the lexicon just has it from their P.O.V maybe if you go on the G.M.A website they might have it. now, thanks to them, my grandma knows all about the books and everything-she asked me if she could barrow them ;)

Yea, can something please be done about spoilers! I don't think some people realize that just because they got Eclipse and read it on the first day that it came out, that doesn't mean everyone else who read/writes on this website did, too. I'm still waiting for my book to come in the mail. I don't want it to be spoiled for me.

I think that if you're going to write spoilers for Eclipse, you should warn people in the summary. I finished it this morning, it's amazing, of course, and well worth your wait, TheLionandtheLamb. Enjoy!

addictedtotwilight - That's what I've already done to my story A Vengeance. I have to do some adjustments to it and have been warning people that the first chapter will undergo serious editing to incorporate spoilers. It's everyone's right to refuse to read something that contains spoilers. As at any other fanfiction site, especially Harry Potter, it's not fair to force someone to unwittingly read a fanfiction and have the book ruined for them.

i'm just giveing a warning in my chapter notes to not post any spoilers on any of my reviews. but i am still going on with my story and pretending that everything in eclipse didn't happen. it will be easier once i get into my 3rd story though

I'm going to add some of the things from Eclipse into my story, A Pretty Strange Love Story, it just feels wrong ignoring what I just read, especially since I liked it so much. Oh, Marauder By Midnight, can't wait to read your story!
