BREAKING DAWN

Posted 01 Aug 08

Most people have yet to finish (or obtaining) Breaking Dawn so now more spoiler comments will be accepted as of now.

I am holding a discussion over at livejournal about Breaking Dawn.

To discuss, I believe you don't have to create a livejournal account (which is completely free), but it's better to actaully have a lj account first.

The url is the following: TWILIGHT ARCHIVES DISCUSSION BOARD

Please read the community info first.

To get more information, please email me at gabriella_523@hotmail.com (don't email j3nn! she has yet to get the book :D)

so, yeah, if you want to discuss what happened, go there, not here!

anyways, keep reading and remember to stay SPOIL-FREE!

-gabby.

EDIT-
One emergency trip to Borders and a copy of Breaking Dawn later, I have officially finished the book. So feel free to send any emails to me, as well, if you think I'd be able to help. :) - j3nn

Good, you posted this. I would've killed the first person who submitted a story with spoilers in it.. I have no clue when I'm getting my book. Whenever amazon decides to ship it and UPS decides to deliver it, I suppose... :(

Ok sooo i dont get the book for another 2 days! lucky me *snort*- the first chapter to my story has a zero on it instead of a 1. and the chapter isnt showing up, anyone know how to fix that? If you do know could you tell me using that contact button thingy on the profiles! Please? ~YouAreNotLeavingMe~

Well, I finished it this morning. Achh! It was good, just not easy to predict ;) Or was it?

By addictedtotwilight

Posted 02 Aug 08

I finished it at 5:30 this morning. I'm so tired. It was... interesting. I loved it, but it was so different from the other three. Wierd stuff.

By addictedtotwilight

Posted 02 Aug 08

Question... I should have put this in the last post... can I post something, since I'm pre-validated? I'll put very clearly that there are spoilers incorporated, but I've been working on in all day and was gonna post it later tonight. If not, it can wait, I guess.

I'm so sorry that your experience was spoiled! Weak sauce, man.

By lustandthrill

Posted 02 Aug 08

In all honesty, the book was okay. Some parts bored me and I didn't like what SMeyer incorporated. I don't know, I'm iffy about it.

By Lolabri

Posted 02 Aug 08

Umm...Wow. The book was...different. Not what I had expected. I mean, stephenie Meyer breaking her own rules? Wow. I still love the book, but it was unexpected. I thought it was going to be different.

By Eternitys_charm

Posted 03 Aug 08

lots of people are saying it sucks. i guess I'll find out tomorrow when i get it :

By Lolabri

Posted 03 Aug 08

It kind of pathetic how all of the "Fans" are posting very rude reviews about the book. I smile every time I actually see a non-offending review. Does anyone care how Stephenie is feeling right now? She thought everyone was going to be super happy and she was all like "I can't wait to discuss every thing with you guys once the book is out!" Insted, she is getting hate mail. ANTI_BREAKING DAWN GROUPS!? How pathetic! I know it was different, but it wasn't horrible!

By lustandthrill

Posted 03 Aug 08

I'm not saying it sucks. All I'm saying is that some parts were kind of off, in my opinion. It wasn't horrible, yet it wasn't as good as the other three were. She incorporated many things that no one expected which is why some people did not like it. To each their own. Opinions after all should be repscted, even if they're rude or badly said.

By crookedmilk

Posted 03 Aug 08

Yeah, I agree. And you have to consider that she wrote the book for herself. It's her ending, and I respect it. It was a nice book, nice to read and in my opinion - worth every dollar. It must suck to get hate mail, after she was so hyped up about it, and we have to spare a thought for her too. Sorry for the long pathetic lecture. XD

By junebug

Posted 03 Aug 08

I actually quite liked the book. It was different from the other three, and Stephenie did indeed break her own rules, but I'm not holding it against her. it was interesting, and had many plot-twists. Although I don't really like her name. If you've read it you'll get what I'm talking about. Ugh, it's really frustrating to not spoil the book. But I'm holding my tongue.

By junebug

Posted 03 Aug 08

Lustandthrill, I agree with you. It's not as good as the others, but it is still a very well written book, and doesn't deserve all the hate it's been getting.

By Blonde Bella

Posted 03 Aug 08

I just thought it was different--I kept stopping cause I'd get mad, though. And then it would all make sense after reading more.

By Lolabri

Posted 03 Aug 08

I never said anyone on here is posting rude comments. I looked on amazon and most of the reviews were one stars. It was horrible. Like everyone was plotting against her and calling Nessie the lockness monster or whatever. Real Fans stay true to the end!

By j3nn

Posted 03 Aug 08

Woah, there. These comments are scaring me! Argh. And I'm avoiding any Breaking Dawn categorized submissions until I get it and can read it (unless there's an overflow, then of course I'll help you out, lustandthrill). I really want to read it. Like, badly. And stardremer... your comment is scaring me the most...

By Blonde Bella

Posted 03 Aug 08

Okay, stardreamer, your being extremely pig-headed about it. The events are frustrating, but the explanations make it work. And by the time it gets to the end, you can't help but like it.

Posted 03 Aug 08

I love stephenie's aditude: "So if everything goes away tomorrow and no one ever picks up another one of my books and no other movies are made and I just stay in my house, I'm gonna be OK with that. So I'm not afraid of anything." -Stephenie Meyer

What?! People are not liking Breaking Dawn?? This is one seriously cracked-up nightmare... I want my life-sized Edward plushie doll!! *sniffle* But really, why are so many people so upset about Breaking Dawn? I mean, people were bummed about the spilouge in HP, but this is riduclous!!! It was a great book!! I didn't get it at midnight (I was all set for a party in Apple Valley, MN, but the 'rents wanted to go to the cabin this weekend. I also missed my friend's grad party), but I got it first thing, and I couldn't stop reading it!! Honest, I was very hardpressed to set it down (bathroom breaks, meals, tubing, swimming, throwing balls for dogs, nearly falling asleep at midnight with my cheek on Jake's imprinting (YAY!!! Although, I did have a good story for Jake imprinting on someone while he ran away from Forks), and other vacationing things). I took that book everywhere. No. Joke. I'm surprised. Like I said, great book!! Hope my friends Sarah and Andrea liked it!

By Lolabri

Posted 03 Aug 08

I'm thinking the same thing Nymphadora_Cullen. It doesnt make sense! Breaking Dawn was the best out of all the books!

By BettingAgainstAlice

Posted 03 Aug 08

i haven't finished it yet.... i'm ALMOST DONE!!!! but my best friends r all like 'emma, don't devour the book, eat it steady or u'll choke...and i don't like it when they say we should eat it...it's paper, please. BUT I LOVE THE JACOB CHAP!!! if u read that and STILL didn't like jacob, or at least feel SORRY for him, u r a cold and heartless person, okay! i hope that isn't spoiling much (or anything...) I seriously love all Steph's ever done, and i am SO not stopping now, just bcuz i wanted it to play out diffrently...all i have to say is, bella is not my fav u-know-what....and she's incredably stupid. I feel so sorry for the people that hate it, and for those who r still on chap 7 *cough* rachel *cough*. FYI (SPOILER COMENT): all my stories will stay with the regular imprints from eclipse and bella will always b human unless i say she won't STILL SPOILER COMMENT: is everyone going 2 take down their pregnant bella stories after screaming 'HA! I TOLD U SO!!!'?

By Sakah

Posted 03 Aug 08

The beginningish of the book made me a little sad and confused/frustrated, but the whole book was really cool! Golly, I'm glad Bella survived! I wonder if Stephenie will give us an answer of how "it" could've possibly happened (I don't really care if we get an explanation or not, overall.) I like Aro a bunch more now (because of his vote) ^-^ Umm...Stephenie did say that Breaking Dawn is only the end of Bella's perspective...right? Or was that the end of the whole series?

By BettingAgainstAlice

Posted 03 Aug 08

OK, this is BettingAgainstAlice's sister, Sarah, here. OMG I LOVE BREAKING DAWN!!!!! *pant*. :) I hate u moronic spongy headed freaks who hate Breaking Dawn. You people are spongy headed... spongy heads, got it??!! DON'T BE RUDE!!! It's Stephenie's book, she can do whatever that heck she flipping wants to IT'S HER BOOK!!! *pant again*. I know this is all long and stuff, but I'm trying to make a point here. So, if u want to be all normal and stuff, and I am not implying anything here, you need to like Breaking Dawn. I won't force you againts your will, well duh, it's a computer, I just have a very strong pointish thing, so deal w/ it or go plunge your spongy faces. :)

i really, really liked breaking dawn. a LOT. it was a little too happy, maybe, and i loathe the name Renesmee with a burning passion, but i really really liked it. It was incredible, as a matter of fact. See, no spoilers!

OKAYOKAYOKAY.

Coming from ME, who HAS to read the comments to make sure they're appropriate... PLEASE DON'T POST SPOILERS :( I know everyone else can just skip them, but now I know some things about the book that were probably vital points and I haven't even gotten my hands on a copy yet.
So the rules are, spoiler warning or not, PLEASE DON'T POST SPOILERS.

Honestly, I LOVED the book. I only have like 50 pages left to read and then I plan to re-read it again! Granted, quite a few things were out of the norm... but if you look on her website- Stepenie didn't break her own rules... I'm not going to spoil it for someone who might not have read it... I discussed this with my friend... Perhaps about the part that everyone is talking about... Vampire/human thing... she never said never about it. Here's my favorites in the order Twilight Breaking Dawn Eclipse New Moon (only because Edward leaves and we have to listen to Jacob for like 17 chapters.... ARG!) I LOVE BREAKING DAWN AND WOULD GIVE IT LIKE 100,000,000 STARS IF I COULD

point blank, the people complaining about it aren't real fans. they were really never true fans of he books and the should just stop complaining because its not like they could write anything better

By lustandthrill

Posted 04 Aug 08

twilight fans should not be categorized into the true and real ones or the not-so-true fans based on their opinions on the book. even if they absolutely abhorred reading Breaking Dawn, it doesn't make them less of a fan; they were just simply dissapointed with it. for those who liked Breaking Dawn. we'll I can't say anything about them. They enjoyed it for what it was and that's basically what a book's purpose is. That being said, all opinions must be respected, either negative or positive. So if you hated Breaking Dawn, whatever, it's all about what you feel. If you liked it, same thing. It doesn't make you less of a fan, it makes you an insightful and opininated fan who knows what they like or what they don't like. Please no bashing other authors as well.

i don't understand why some people don't like it though! what was there to be upset about? seriously, it was dazzling, amazing, cool, sweet, umm, awesome! i feel so bad for stephenie, why are people sending her hate mail? she worked so hard on it... and came out with my favorite book in the whole series! on the comment from lustandthrill above, i guess i respect your views... *cough(butthebookwasamazing!!)cough*

The people that don't like it probably just didn't want certain things to happen. They might dislike Jacob, or they might have wanted more of a fight in a few places, or thought one thing was ridiculous (I did at first, but got over it once it was explained a little more). Of course, I cried about 10 times while reading it, which makes me a little upset since I don't like crying :) . But overall, I liked it. And I think this one will go over the same way that New Moon and Eclipse went over--people really didn't like them at first (Some). Edward left and that made people mad, and then Eclipse just wasn't what people expected (though it was a plotline that needed to happen). Breaking Dawn will get better reviews as people re-read it, and the shock sort of settles down. When you're upset about some thing happening, you tend to ignore things you would see otherwise. Well, I think I've bored everyone long enough, and I'm with j3nn. Keep it spoiler-free, no matter how mild the spoiler.

Ok, this is ridiculous. BD wasn't my favorite, but it ended the saga well, and really, it was good, as long as you think everything through. And, after I re-read it... twice, I like it more than New Moon now. You just have to give it a chance... I totally agree with Blonde Bell on the whole comparison between New Moon and this book. Remember how Steph said we had to re-read it to like it more?? Ringing any bells? New subject. Not to sound disrespectful or rude, but are we going to have to wait til everyone has read BD before we can post stories with spoilers?

By lustandthrill

Posted 04 Aug 08

We're waiting a week or so to post stories with spoilers. To discuss Breaking Dawn, PLEASE head over to the lilvejournal so thsi message board doe not have spoilers. Please! I TOTALLY agree with Blonde Bella :D

Yeah, my experience was spoiled as well before I got my hands on BD. But all is well, I still loved the book and STILL got surprised! ^_^

I finished the book in eight hours and fort three minutes...lol i timed myself...Ok so all of these people hating it...i dont get it! It was a good book, and i think that their is no reason to hate it. Even though my whole thing was spoiled (alice! *cough*) but i was still amazed! It was written really well! In the end everyone got their happily ever after! and that makes me happy! i think SM attitude about it is great. She is not worried that fans dont like her book! I am very happy with this book and i will rant at anyone who feels that its horrible! Ok all done!

By bleedforyou

DUDE. Is anyone with me when I say that I am completely. utterly. totally. confused about how feel about Breaking Dawn? I JUST finished it five minutes ago, and FINALLY turned on my computer (I turned it off on Friday Midnight so nothing would interrupt me lol) And now I"m just like, WTF? I don't even know if I liked it or didn't like it, or anything! I hope this feeling goes away fairly soon. I AM pretty happy about the fact that the whole web is trying to keep spoilers away though. That's nice. TOTALLY unlike the Harry Potter fandom, lol. :D But I'm still confused about how I feel about the actually way the book was laid out. Interesting, but strangely mechanic. Like it wasn't really her writing... I dunno. Anyone with me?

By bleedforyou

Posted 05 Aug 08

Now that I think about it... Is anyone even going to bother reading/writing fanfiction on the Twilight Saga anymore? Breaking Dawn kinda pulled me out of the strange fascination of the changing of the plots thing... Like, I said, I'm confused, lol.

"So if everything goes away tomorrow and no one ever picks up another one of my books and no other movies are made and I just stay in my house, I'm gonna be OK with that. So I'm not afraid of anything." -Stephenie Meyer Step, you're my hero!! I wish you were my older sister!!! I'm also hearing these crazy rumors that there's a full-out war between the Hp and Twilight fandoms... Say WHAT!? Not to sound like Johnny Raincloud (Or Riley Poole; love National Treasure), but why??! What is the point of an all-out war on another book series; it's like declaring war on the Middle East because of oil (oh wait, we alreadydid that). Sorry, I just feel like ranting right now, because I read about this thing and now I'm thinking "Excuse Me?!" It doesn't matter; most of us are fans of both series of books. However, I'm taking no side; I'm a lodestone, I'm Switzerland. I'm saying nothing else on the matter. Currently reading BD for the 2nd time!! YAY!!!!!
