Being human, I did need to sleep eventually. Keira couldn’t handle talking anymore, so she followed Carlisle up to his study. She was eager to hear of his tales. Well, eager isn’t the right word, there was a very minor change in her facial expressions.

I slept on the couch in Edward’s room, with the now dry blanket Katie had used wrapped around me. I was surprised at how easily I slept, I guess I was overtired.

When I woke it was bright outside. In all the confusion I had lost track of time. I wasn’t even sure what day it was. I sat up and looked for Edward. I was surprised to see Keira sitting on the floor staring at me.

“You’re…different when you sleep. I’ve never seen anyone sleep.” she said. She stared at me with fascinated eyes. Fascinated, but dead.

I sat down on the floor beside her. I was still in Alice’s clothes.

“What’s it like?” she asked suddenly. My thoughts flew instantly to the burning fires of hell. “Sleeping, I mean.” she added.

I racked my brain, trying to explain it. Keira grew quickly impatient, and asked another question.

“Food…how much do you need to eat? How often? What does it taste like?” Her overload of questions caught me off guard.

“Em…” Was all I could say.

She didn’t seem to notice that I answered none of her questions.

“You’re doing better, today.” I said, cautious. Once I said it, I regretted it.

She didn’t ask anymore questions, but she stayed sitting with me.

“Did I make the right choice?” she muttered quietly. The question wasn’t directed at me.

I twirled my ring around on my finger, at a loss for what to say.

“I bet you’re wondering why I didn’t kill you.” she asked, looking at me.

“Actually yeah.” I said quietly.

“Locke forgave me…so I should forgive him.” she said, her eyes watering. “That man…I would do anything for him. I would give my life for him. I would break the rules.”

I waited, leaning closer to her, as her voice was lowering.

“But I left him…there was a reason. A reason I can not tell anyone. The story can not leave my lips. I call it my curse, although that is just me.” she stopped to wipe away the tears on her cheeks. “But…I wanted Locke to know. I would give anything for him to just know…to understand.”

Then without another word, she got up and left the room. She had told me something private, giving me a small bit of her. She was a mystery.

“Well where is she?!” Anger fumed, making Gluttony shrink against the wall.

“Who cares??” Envy asked, also furious, but furious that no one was paying attention to her.

Lust skipped up to Anger’s side and linked her arm.

“Don’t fret, ladies. We’ll find her. And make her pay.” Lust giggled girlishly.

Anger’s permanent frown lightened just a bit. Her eyes lit up as she thought how she would make her pay. There is a blurry distinction between Anger and Wrath. Right now she was leaning towards Wrath, although her official title was still Anger.

I went downstairs and found orange juice and toast waiting for me. And more importantly, a handsome vampire was also waiting.

“Edward,” I sighed, and walked over to him. He wrapped his arms around me and I sat on his lap.

A took a bite out of the toast, and then leaned back against Edward.

“Alice had a lot of fun making that,” he noted, laughing. “Come on.” he added suddenly.

He got up and led me into the front room. Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Emmet and Jasper were already waiting in there. Instead of sitting down, Edward motioned for everyone to follow. He went into the dining room, and everyone sat down. It reminded me of that all important vote.

“Well, I thought since Keira will be sharing her plans with us soon, we should come in here.” Edward said.

Alice and Keira walked through the door. Keira took a seat at the head of the table, with Alice beside her and me on the other side.

“Ok, I’m ready to tell you all everything.” she said.

Alice smiled at her in encouragement.
