A stewardess's nasally voice came over the intercom, "Please fasten your seatbelts we'll be landing shortly in ‘Italia International Airport'. I hope you enjoyed the flight with United Airlines."
We were going to land in Florence and drive the rest of the way.
" Ok, so lets go over it again." Aella whispered as we were landing. " Dogs, you'll take the north side. Rosalie, Jasper, Emmet, Monique, and Tiffany you'll take the south. John, Alvin, Cody, Daisy, and Damon you'll take the west. Allen, Melanie, Abiel, Tori, and Esme you'll take the east. Astheroshe, Carlisle, Edward, Alice, and I will go to the center to take down the main three. Don't forget this all has to be done simultaneously, so when Asthe gives the signal surround the town and start causing any damage without hurting the mortals.
By the way, Bella, I'm sorry to say this but you'll be on lock down in a hotel in Florence. I asked a friend of mine to look after you so if you need anything just call him using the phone I gave you."
" Why can't I stay in Volterra?" she asked.
" Bella are you psychologically challenged. You'll probably get slaughtered." And I'll laugh, I added mentally. " Do you want that to happen?" I retorted.
" Interesting selection of words, Asthe." Aella giggled from behind me. I rolled my eyes and continued gaze out the window.
Ok so I didn't really approve of this plan but it was one against twenty-five so I didn't get to choose.
" Everyone in position?" I whispered. Even though we were hundreds of miles away from each other, they could still hear me.
" We're here," I picked up Sam's voice from the north.
" Us too," Tiffany's whiny voice was barely a whisper from the south.
" Yep," Damon confirmed from the west.
" Uh huh," Allen said, from the east.
" All right, we're going in." Aella hissed.
I grabbed her arm and yanked her back by my side.
" Too early, they'll know were here. Something doesn't feel right." As I said that Aella's head snapped up, her body tensed and a low hiss escaped her lips.
" You're right, something is off. I can't put my finger on it but there is something strange going on here." She confirmed.
We were hiding in a rundown church a few streets away from the Volturi's castle. This building hasn't been used for hundreds of years so it was often a refuge for the homeless or other vampires who came here, not looking for trouble. The Volturi never bothered to check the place for any threats so it made the perfect spot for us to hide in.
Alice and Carlisle were sitting at a small desk talking quietly, Edward paced the church trying to pick up on any of the Volturi's thoughts, Aella and I stood by a hole in the wall made by time.
As I looked out into the streets a heavy fog seemed to settle over the village and everything was quiet. Too quiet that is. There wasn't a single soul about. Maybe this was an unusual phenomenon for this place, maybe not.
Out of nowhere, a loud shriek filled the air and the town came to life in less than a minute. People walked about doing their daily routines as if nothing happened, the fog seemed to vanish and the sun shone brightly in the Italian sky. Had no one noticed the scream? What was going on here?
" What the hell is going on?" Alice shot up out of her seat.
" Did you see something Alice? " Aella asked.
" I don't know. I saw flashes of different things. First I saw our group taking on the main Volturi, then I saw Allen's team fighting another group." She said. There was some emotion on her face, something she didn't want us to know, something that Edward saw, that made him rigid and filled him with pain.
I saw it.
"Allen! Tori! Where are you?" I saw myself stumbling in rubble, a collapsed building just outside of the city but far enough for anyone to notice. I was covered in dust and my clothes were frayed.
I heard many footsteps behind me and I turned around. I saw my family, the Cullens, and the wolves. Someone was absent. I counted in my head, twelve in my family, seven Cullens, and... one, two, three... five. One wolf was missing. Who?
I didn't get an adequate amount of time to see who it was but from the looks on Edward and Aella's faces, I had a pretty good idea. I closed my eyes and tried to stop myself from shaking.
Alice came over and placed her arms around my shoulders.
" The future is not set in stone Asthe. At least not the kind I see."
I opened my eyes and ran for the tower with the others close behind.
