It was 2:47 a.m., as I got closer to the outskirts of NYC. Finally here, I thought. Soon I will be reunited with my coven. The Volturi were probably in Forks by now. Alice updated me on everything. They were there apparently looking for me but decided to stay in Forks for a few days before continuing their search.

" What about Bella? Won't they be mad that she's not a vampire yet?" I asked out of politeness rather than curiosity. After she got the whole story about what really happened we weren't friends anymore. To tell you the truth I was fine with that. It's her problem, really. I don't care.

" No, we explained everything to them. We will visit in a few weeks to prove it." She told me.

" Okay, what about the wolves?"

" They got out in time, before the Volturi arrived. Sam said that because they are not part of the Cullen coven the wolves have every right to attack if Aro, or any of the guards, decide to feed in the area," she sighed. " To tell you the truth I don't really care, I mean it's their funeral. Now do you mind telling me where you are?" Alice asked a little irritated.

" I can't Alice. If Aro decides to read your mind I'm done for because you won't be able to block your thoughts."

" Oh right."

" What else have you got for me?"

" Well let's see.... I don't have any visions yet. Hmm, strange I can't see anything but I know for a fact that the wolves won't be involved." She quickly added before I could panic.

" How can you be sure?" I asked still worried.

" Because if the wolves were involved my visions would be flickers of white, like looking at a blank sheet of paper."

" Thank you so much Alice."

(Flashback over)

It was day six today. I was out of time and I hoped that it worked, that I found my true love. If not then we can all kiss the world goodbye.

As I got closer I could see a beautiful mansion not half a mile from me. All of a sudden something pale and hard collided with me and sent me flying.

" Asthe! You're finally here." I heard Tori's voice in my ear.

" Yes and I would appreciate it if you would get off me." I laughed.

" I am sorry. I'm really happy that you're here. The whole family has been anxious, waiting for your arrival. Allen was so jumpy but he will be so happy to see you again." Allen was Tori's husband. He was like a brother and Tori were like a sister to me.

" How come you're in New York?" I asked because our real home was in Chicago.

" Age." She simply answered. What it meant was that they looked too young to pass for whatever age they claimed to be.

" So did you tell everyone everything already?"

" Yeah they all know so you don't have to worry about explaining it."

We were at the front door when it swung open and Aella burst out of it and caught me in a tight hug.

" Asthe, I can't believe you're here. I haven't seen you in so long." Her voice was cracking, on the verge of tears.

" I missed you too Aella."

We walked into the living room and I saw that everyone was there. Monique, John, Tiffany, Alvin, Allen, Cody, Daisy, Melanie, Abiel and Damon. Tori and Aella were both standing next to me. I was finally with my family, for the first time in five years.

" So you say hiding will be no good?" Allen asked.

" Precisely! Do you remember last time? They can track down anyone anywhere. The best I can do is run."

" That will be no good either." Allen disagreed. " You've been running from them for five years and-"

" They still didn't catch me. Don't you see Allen, running from danger is something I'm good at. It comes naturally." I countered.

" But they still found your hiding place all the way in Forks. They were really close that time."

" I agree with Allen. It's only a matter of time before they find you and kill you for sure. Asthe we cant afford to lose you." Aella begged me.

" So what do you propose we do." I asked.

" We fight back. Our coven is the only real threat to the Volturi. They may be older but we all have talent beyond their imaginations. The Volturi know nothing of our tricks and that will help so much." Allen tried to persuade me.

" No! Absolutely not. As the head of the coven I refuse to let you fight. It's true we might win but not without a price." I couldn't let my family anywhere near the Volturi. They wont be tangled in this mess. With that I stood up and went to the room Tori showed me closing this topic for any negotiation.

I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling for about an hour thinking of a plan and coming up empty. A light knock on my door startled me and I sat up in my bed.

" Can I come in?" I heard Tori's gentle voice from the other side.

" Yeah," I replied weakly.

Tori walked over to where I was and sat down next to me wrapping her hands around my shoulder.

" It's ok Asthe, don't worry well find a way." She whispered into my ear.

As she said those words tears spilled from my eyes and all my control slipped away...
