Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

They tell me this, but it doesn’t help. There is no peace of death for me.

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high

I am what I am, and I will embrace it because I must. Because life was taken from me, I will take it from others.

I am a vampire, I am power, I am the death found in shadows. But do I have the right to take life? Very well, only the life of he that doesn’t deserve it. The life of he that would take anothers belongs to me.

Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them say

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

And so I find solace in the fact that I hunt only the hunters. Because I take only the lives of the murderer, the rapist, the predators, I will not be haunted by them. I will not be haunted by the voices of the ones I’ve taken.

Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, well
It surely means that I don't know

I pretend to be righteous, pretended that my kill was justified. I thought I knew. I thought I could hide from my ghosts. But I was wrong. Judgement isn’t mine to make. Life isn’t mine to take.

On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune
But I hear the voices say

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

And so I head home. Home to my family and the life I should lead. My head is so confused, but I’ve decided that it doesn’t matter. I can rise above this lust, and I can find peace in the fact that I am not taking what isn’t mine. Though this life is not my choice, I will survive it.

No!

Isabella Swan. This girl is different. She fills me. She loves me, and I thrive in her presence. I have found my life.

Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you.

I have reason to live. There is purpose in my life. How could I be damned, when such an angel chooses me?

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
