Paris' Chance

Bella never Jumped. No one came back. It's just been Jacob and Bella. But with Romeo gone will Paris get his chance?

This is just a fun excercise for my imagination. It is set in Eclipse time, but contiuing the plot of New Moon. Does that make sence? It will contain some ECLIPSE SPOILERS about werewolves and mabey even plotlines. Just so your warned.

Chapter 1

It was a day just like any other. I was sitting in the driver’s seat of Jake’s rabbit, and laughing at a stupid joke he had just made.

“ I mean come on, you think Paul would learn that since we can hear his thoughts, we know what he was doing I the bathroom for over an hour,” he scoffed.

“ Jacob!” I shrieked through fits of hysterics, “ that is disgusting!” I leaned down to hit his the leg extending from under the car. He slid back from underneath the car with a triumphant smile; apparently he had fixed the problem.

He got up and was looking at me with a strange look, I had seen it before, but I wasn’t afraid of it as much as I had once been.

“ You look so beautiful right now, and I’m not just saying that to get out of my lifetime of servitude”

I couldn’t tell if he was serious or joking, but all at once two completely different emotions ran down my spine and gave me chills. First, I felt the painfully guilty pang that always was jabbing at my heart, but it was soon replaced with butterflies and a warmness creeping into my stomach. He leaned forward, putting his hands on my knees draped over the side of the seat, and kissed me slowly, sweetly. I kissed him back, not for the first time, and savored the taste of his lips, the way his tongue skimmed along my lips before opening my mouth with growing impatience. I threw my arms around his neck as he moved his to encircle my waist and draw me even closer. His lips moved faster, with more urgency. This was usually the time I stopped him from taking it to far. I had never imagined my first time would be in the front seat of a car. Or even with him.

Surprisingly, it was him who stiffened and drew back. He had the mask on. The hard, cold mask that, to me, betrayed hurt and pain. If I could help it I would never let him look like that.

“ Jake? What’s wrong?” I questioned, thoroughly nonplused by his behavior.

What could make Jake so angry that his lip curled up and his fists clenched. A deep growl was growing stronger I his chest. I noticed the way his nose was scrunched in disgust, as if it was burning. The only thing I had ever seen make that reaction was…was…a vampire. Victoria. She was here. How had she gotten so close?

Jacob had ripped completely out of my embrace and was walking fast to the forest on the other side of the driveway. He was shaking so violently that I was sure he was going to phase.

“ I’ve dreamed of this moment, but I never thought you so stupid as to actually do it! You broke the treaty! You started this! I have every right to kill you now! How dare you come here! Did you come back to clean up loose ends? Well, I WILL NOT LET YOU HARM HER!!” He was again shaking so hard; he was hardly trying to suppress it.

I was totally confused now and a clod was starting to creep into my heart. What treaty was Victoria held to? And why was Jake pausing to talk to her? I wanted him to run! It was never going to end unless she killed me. I didn’t want to die, but I couldn’t allow Jake to get hurt. Where were the other the other werewolves: Sam, Seth, Lea, Embry, Quil, Paul, Jared? I didn’t want any of them to get hurt, but they had to at least come and help Jake.

As I moved forward slightly to tell Jake to run, the sun moved toward the woods, and a sparkling figure suddenly exploded from the shadows. The slim, unearthly beautiful creature from my nightmares stepped out into the blinding sun and watched, silently, as deep, topaz, eyes stared at me as if all the pain and suffering of the world was trapped in their depths.

I gasped, once, twice, three times, before I collapsed, but not before one lone word escaped my lips. It brought with it all the memories, the hurt, the insanity. And with absolute certainty, I whispered.
