Happily Ever After?

This is not all that bad. Especially considering I've never tried to write my own story before. I can't really think of a way to put it into words without ruining the whole story, but it starts out with Bella in the meadow. Victoria gets Bella. Bella gets bitten, and all that good stuff. You'll just have to read it to find out. I swear, I've tried to make it as interesting as possible and it gets more interesting further in the story. P.S. Sorry I haven't updated in, like forever, but my computer broke, and it took a really long time to fix, and when it was finally fixed, it erased all my stuff, including the internet. Basically, it was just like getting a brand new computer. Plus, I couldn't remember the website URL, it was my homepage, so I never had to... tear... newayz, I'm finally back on and working on the fifth chapter (again). Luv yaz!

While your reading this story, don't forget, this is my first time EVER attempting to write anything, so don't be too impatient with me. But I would still LUV to hear your thoughts, so please don't hesitate to review. I would love to thank my best friend for introducing me to the BEST book ever before I start. I tried to make it as interesting as possible. I hope you enjoy it!!!

1. The Meadow

It's been almost two years since I'd been bitten that day in the forest. I had been looking for the meadow where he first told me he loved, the meadow I had longed to see for months, since the night he left me. I don't know how long i had searching, only that it was getting darker, twilight, when I finally found it. i thought I would be happy and relieved when I found it, not empty.

Why did you come here? I thought to myself. How could you be so stupid?

I was just about to leave when I heard a quiet breathing behind me. i spun around, scared of what I might find. but it wasn't what I thought it would be. It was not the one person I longed to see, to smell, to hold. I looked at the man, his face half covered by his black hair. He looked at me with red eyes that struck a nerve, and fear rippled through me. I looked at the man for a moment longer before i finally realized who he was.

"Laurent?" I asked the man.

"It's good to see you again, Bella." As he said this i realized he sounded different, more vicious than the last time we met, last year when I was being hunted by James. He sounded thirsty.

I stared at him, not sure of what I was feeling. Although I was sure if I was any normal person, I would be terrified, knowing that I stood three feet from a vampire, and that this vampire more than likely was craving my blood, ready to attack in a split second, but I had learned not to fear, because without him my life was empty, I was empty.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"I was just hunting." he replied, I noticed the ravenous tone in his voice that should have frightened me, except I doubted I could hurt any more than I already did.

"No, I mean here, in this meadow." i clarified.

"I am here with... an old friend."

"Who? Maybe I know him." I said, trying to keep the conversation casual, a very poor attempt.

"Oh, it's no he, and I know for a fact you know who it is." Something about the way he said it mad me a little cautious and suspicious.

"Well, who was it then?"

"I think you'll know soon enough." he replied.

This made me even more cautious. And then a strange sensation trickled down my spine. I turned around to meet the cause, but there was nothing there.

I turned back around and Laurent was about a foot closer than a second ago, although I hadn't heard him approach. I watched as he drew deep breaths, inhaling my scent. It then struck me that the only thing stopping him from killing me before was the Cullens-- I winced as I thought their name, even here, inches away from death, it was too much pain.

When he spoke he confirmed my suspicions, " I've heard the Cullens moved away." I nodded slowly. "Do you ever hear from them?"

I didn't know what to say to that, so I decided to lie. "Sometimes, why?"

He shrugged. "When was the last time you heard from them?" He asked in an alluring voice.

I was trying to resist his tempting tone, but it was hard. " Not in a while." I said in a low voice I know only a vampire could hear.

His eyes seemed to brighten at this statement, I knew immediately I made a mistake, possibly a grave one.

I felt my face twist slightly into an expression mixed with fear and regret before I could stop myself. He didn't miss this.

"Oh, don't worry, I'm not the one you need to worry about."

"What do you mean 'I'm not the one you need to worry about'?" I asked in a cautious tone.

"I mean, if I kill you, it would be quick and damn near painless, Victoria on the other hand..." his voice trailed off.

This caught my attention. "Victoria?" I choked. Victoria was James' mate, the vampire who tried to kill me last year by making me believe he would hurt my mother. Edward, Emmett, and Jasper had killed him after he came very close to killing me. "Why do I have to worry about Victoria?"

"Because, James was her mate, and your boyfriend killed him." He said calmly.

"I still don't see how this has anything to do with me." I replied, a confused expression on my face.

"She believes that killing Edward would not be punishment enough. She plans to kill you. You see, it's an exchange, mate-for-mate. If you only knew what she has in store for you, you would be begging for me to kill you now, although, I'm not sure, I think I might grant your unspoken wish-" he began to walk toward me, the thirst growing more noticeable in his eyes. He stopped mid-step and looked to the right, I looked too but saw nothing.

I looked back at Laurent, and saw he was still looking at the trees, a look of horror etched upon his face. He turned then and ran at full speed in the opposite direction. I stared after him in disbelief, then watched as five monstrous wolves bounded through the meadow after him. I stood there for who knows how long before I finally regained control of myself and headed back the way I came.

About ten minutes after I started walking I got a very strange feeling someone was following me. I glanced over my shoulder every thirty seconds just in case. After about five minutes of this I stopped and turned around. Then someone grabbed me from behind, their hands ice-cold, and threw me onto the ground...
