His stare was beginning to make me nervous. What if he had only loved me because of my being human? What if he didn’t want me? “Bella.” He whispered. That really didn’t help settle my fears. If felt like my heart was being torn out all over again.

And then, to fast for a human to see, he came towards me and wrapped me in his arms. I was shocked to say the least. He brought his head down to mine, and crushed my lips against his. His skin didn’t seem cold to me anymore, and to my great surprise, the grip that used to crush me, didn’t hurt at all. I kissed him back, all of my fears sliding away. What could I have been worried about?

After I was done being happy that he still wanted to kiss me, I noticed that this kiss was way different from all of the others. When he had to worry about killing me, the kisses were just pecks on the lips, with no real passion. This kiss, however, was carnal. It was perfect.

I was the one who finally ended the kiss. My new strength helped me break free from his arms. He laughed at my stunned expression. “You’re stronger now.”

“I noticed. Weird. And I haven’t tripped on anything since I woke up.” I said with a smile.
”Who are you again?’ he teased. I smacked him in the chest. Instead of hurting my hand though, he stumbled backwards! “Hey! Watch it!” Oops. I would really have to be more careful.

Then I smelled that smell again. The one Jasper said was blood. I suddenly felt like killing something. I clasped Edward’s hand to keep me from doing something stupid. He looked down at me with understanding etched all over his face. “Edward, we brought her here to hunt, not to see you.” Alice said with a grin. “So, how about you and I show her how it’s done.” With that, she was off and running. Edward glanced down at me, and I nodded. He smiled that perfect crooked smile, and took off after her.

In about two minutes, they came back into sight. They were chasing a deer. Its scent hit me so hard that I sat down. No, Bella. Stay in control. You don’t want to do this. Edward was looking at me with bewilderment, and Jasper’s mouth was hanging open. The rest of them looked slightly surprised too, now that I think about it.

Alice shrugged, and tore open the deer’s throat. This drove me crazy. I heard an awful, terrifying noise, and it took me a while to realize that it was coming from my own throat. Alice glanced up. “You can share, Bella. We brought this here for you.” She went back to drinking. NO! I won’t! That’s wrong. NO! But my instincts were stronger than my will. I started to walk forward. Emmett saw the problems I was having, and shoved me forward, and I joined Alice on the ground. Ignoring all of my human instincts that were screaming at me not to do this, I listened to the vampiral instincts that were so new. I drank.

When that deer was drained, Alice grabbed my hand. “You need more, and you can kill your own this time.” I cringed. What had I just done? Yet I knew that I would do it again, so I followed Alice, and Edward followed me. I fell back to walk with him. He took my hand, and I looked up at his eyes. They were still black. He really hadn’t fed in a month!

We spotted the herd quickly. Alice glanced back, and took off after the deer. She took one, and dragged it down. Edward nodded to me, and I did the same thing, trying very hard to not think about what I was doing. I drained that one, and to my surprise, my throat no longer hurt. I took this to mean that I was no longer thirsty. Edward, though, was a different story. His eyes just had small flecks of gold in them. He obviously needed to drink more. When I said something, he assured me he was done. I let it go, because I figured he knew more about it than I did. We met up with the rest of the family, and we went home.
