We sat in silence for along time not feeling the need to talk. Edward and I had always been good at silence. It felt nice just to lay in his arms and not have to worry about anything for a change. I couldn't help but hope that all of eternity was going to be like this. The house was quite and I knew no one else was home because I could hear much better than I ever could when I was a human. Edward sighed next to me and I turned to face him.
"What's wrong?" I asked wondering if he was unhappy about something,
"It's just that I really would like to know what you thought about the past three days." Edward said trying to read the expression on my face,
"Will you tell me then?"
"Of course I will. It's just I don't know if your going to like it that's all."
"I won't be mad I promise!"
"Well between thinking about finally being yours for eternity I was worrying about Jake. I really wish he would have went home to Billy before we left so I knew he was ok!"
"I'm sorry Bella I never meant for him to take off. I know you wish he would have come home but he didn't and I'm sorry."
"I don't blame you. Someday maybe I will hear from him and know that he's ok."
"There was something else too."
"And what might that be?" Edward asked smiling my favorite crooked smile,
"I was wondering what our house looked like?"
"Oh! Do you want to go see it now?"
"I would love to!"
Edward lead the way to the house never letting go of my hand the entire way. When we arrived at the house it would have taken my breath away if I was still human. The outside of the house was a light blue with white trim. It was old fashion looking and prefect for him and me. It had the porch swing I had seen so many times in my vision of the future. There was a beautiful rap around porch that was both on the first and second floor. If the outside looked like that then I couldn't imagine what the inside looked like.I sighed happily as Edward and I walked up onto the porch. This was what my life was supposed to be like. Everything I wanted I had minus Jake home safe where he belonged.
Suddenly Edward picked me up in his arms and carried me into the house. I didn't protest because I knew it was custom for the groom to carry the bride over the thresh hole of their home. I smiled happily as Edward set me down just inside the house and gave me a gentle kiss. I looked around and felt a rush of emotion fill my veins. The outside of the house might have looked old fashion but the inside was completely modern. The only old fashion thing was a fireplace in the living room. I sighed and looked at Edward with loving eyes!
"I love it the outside is so you and the inside is so me!" I said before reaching up to kiss him,
"I'm glad you like it Bella! Would you like to see the rest of the house?"
We spent the rest of the day and well into the night going through each room. I was dying to see the nursery but Edward told me that was one of the last rooms I was going to see. We went through room after room in detail. There was a study for me so I could read in peace and a library for both of us to share. The house was huge and way to big for only four vampires to live in it but seeing as we never slept and we were going to have kids to look after it would be better off that we had a large house. There were plenty of extra bedrooms for out family who would definitely come and visit us.Just when I thought I had seen every room except the nursery Edward pulled me over to one of the doors towards the back of the house.
"This love is our room I hope you like it!" Edward said before turning the nob and opening the door,
The door opened and my jaw dropped. The room was a midnight blue color with a pink trim mirroring our wedding colors perfectly. A king size gold bed just like the one that we had in Forks was placed against the back wall. There was a set of sliding glass doors that lead out onto the rap around porch and had a beautiful view of a meadow which was our meadow. The view was breath taking and I realized it was twilight our special time. I knew Edward had been waiting for this time to show me this room. I turned back to look at him and found him on one knee.
"Bella, I love you more than anything else in the entire world.Twilight will always be our time of day. I know we're already married but this felt so right I had to do this. Bella will you...."
Edward was cut of by the sound of the doorbell ringing. I wanted to shoot who ever was at the door and Edward didn't look to please either. I sighed and mouthed the word later to him before leaving to answer the door.Edward caught my hand and pulled me back into the room and closed the door.
"Bella wait a minute this will only take a second they can wait! Bella will you marry me again later in life at twilight to make it our special time no matter what?"
I cursed Alice just then for not realizing that the wedding should have been at twilight.Of course I would marry him again at twilight. It was our favorite time of day and I knew that it held a meaning for both of us that could never be replaced. I reached for him and kissed him more passionately as he walked backwards towards the bed. Before we could reach it the doorbell rang again and we broke apart. I took Edward's hand and went to answer the door.
When I opened it I stood in shock. There in front of me was Jake.I baried my head in Edward's chest trying to hide myself from Jake as best I could. It was one thing for Jake to know what I was becoming but it was something entirely different for Jake to actually see me like this. I waited for Jake or Edward to speak knowing it was only going to be a matter of time before something happened.
"Bella, I just wanted to say goodbye for the last time and let you know I'm going home! It was weak of me to run away and I never should have done that but I did! I will always love you!" Jake's voice was full of pain and I was pretty sure if I turned around I would see tears in his eyes,
When I finally looked up Jake was gone. I knew it was wrong to let him go like that but I didn't care anymore I had made my choice and he wasn't part of it. I smiled up at Edward and took his hand and lead him back to the master bedroom where we had some unfinished business to attend to. I knew everything was over now Jake was safe and he knew what was planned was done. It was as if it was finally dawn and the darkest hours before hand were finally over.
