Chapter 7: Hell Date

By: Eternitys_Charm

Finally we arrived at the warm restaurant. The drive seemed to take ages, from John’s constant apologies of him and his ex’s "encounter" to the traffic-jam in the streets, and me waiting for John to step out of his house when he took a quick shower.

I sighed with relief as I stepped in and smelled the warm food lingering in the air. People chatting happily together and some other football players were having their lunch, the waitresses rushing through with orders and plates of food, and the cooks in the kitchen walking back and forth.

John gave our names to the lady at the cash register who had an awful perm –her hair looked to ride a couple of inches in the air, and was not very well curled—I looked away from her hair when she met my eyes and gave me a dirty look.

We sat down on the soft sofas in the entry of the restaurant; since the place was crowded, we were going to have to wait another ten minutes or so, which I took the liberty of using by leaning my head on John’s shoulder and smelling his sweet cologne.

"John?" The lady at the cashier called too soon, or so I thought, we had been waiting for fifteen minutes.

John stood up and picked me up from the chair. I grumbled internally, I loved being this close to him, and now I couldn’t because of the stupid table.

The cashier lady pointed at a waiter near the back of the restaurant, he signaled us to follow him, and we did. He lead us to the table, it wasn’t so crowded here, just a couple of teens in one table, a small family in another table, and two older men; it seemed nice here, isolated from the rest.

"I’ll be right back to take your orders." He said, I noticed who the waiter was right away; he was Kyle, a senior in my High School, who I had in my elective class. He noticed me too and gave me a small nod.

John picked up the menus from the table and handed me one, "get whatever you want." He said with a sheepish smile.

I nodded with a giggle. John stared at me with an apologetic smile, I rolled my eyes. I guessed he still felt sorry for what happened. And he should feel sorry; he hurt me, now I have to do some payback, but, how?

"Alice?" I heard a deep voice ask from behind, John looked up and his eyes grew dark.

I turned slowly wondering who it was and why it made John go from cheery to heated, in less than two seconds.

When I had fully turned around, I realized why. And I smiled with internal pleasure at the person standing in front of me.

"Hello, Nick." I said with a warm smile at my ex, whom I hadn’t seen in the longest time.

Nick and I ended in good terms, so it wasn’t so awkward seeing him. And John knew that Nick and I ended in good terms too, that’s why his expression changed so quickly.

"I thought you moved." I stated conversationally at Nick. Who I had believed had moved away, that was the reason for the breakup.

Nick shrugged, his shoulders looking more broad and muscled then ever. And his cat-like green eyes looking amused, "I know. Can you believe that we moved back?" He scoffed, shaking his hair and making his soft curls move slightly. He smiled, "it was nice seeing you Aly. Hope to see you again at school; I’m going back to the same High School."

"That’s gre— " I began.

But before I had a time to finish what I was going to say, Nick kissed me. Making the plan, that I had been working on in my head, go perfectly. Originally I was going to plant one on him, but since he insisted, how could I refuse to give John a taste of his own medicine.

No less than a second later that Nick was pulled off of me. Nick landed hard on the restaurant floor, and John had his body on top of Nick’s. Nick shoved John off and looked defensive.

"What the hell?" John asked getting face to face with Nick.

"I’m sorry; I was just starting off where Aly and I left off at." Nick said getting aggravated.

People in the restaurant turned to look, even the ones that were on the other side of the restaurant, and a waiter ran for the phone, though she didn’t dial.

"Aly is my girlfriend now. She moved on from you, Nicholas." John said in a harsh tone.

Girlfriend? I like the sound of that.

"I’m sure she hasn’t." Nick argued.

I had never had two guys, hot, gentlemanly guys, fight over me before; it was frightful, yet so enjoyable. But I had to break it up before either of them got hurt.

Before I knew it one of them was on the floor, but not because he was hurt. No. He was shaking, just like he had in the parking lot, and just like my brother had multiple times before.

People gasped and Nick stared wide-eyed at the scene in front of him.

John had his palms on the floor, his breath coming in as sharp rasps, and his whole torso and back shook uncontrollably.

"Someone call 911!" I screamed.

"No need!" Seth came into the restaurant with two other boys, who must have been Seth’s older sons. They picked John up from the ground and took him out of the restaurant as fast as they came in.

All I could do was gape. Tears beginning to stream down my face.

"Aly." Nick said taking me in his arms, "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for this to happen. If you want I could drive you home, I came alone." He whispered rubbing my back.

I nodded, unable to speak.

"Thanks for the ride Nick. I’m sorry for John. I’ll see you at school ‘kay?" I told him, hopping out of his car and taking my sweater from the headrest.

He smiled warmly, "of course." He looked sincere, "no hard feelings." He said with a wink, "I guess I should have moved on, huh?"

I giggled and waved Nick goodbye. He smiled and revved out of the long driveway.

I sighed and walked up the steps.

As soon as I entered the huge mansion, I heard sobs and screams coming from the library upstairs. They echoed through the house, making in sound eerie and making it send chills up my spine.

I hurried to the library my grandfather usually spent his time in, swinging the door open.

What I found was something I dreaded to see again: my brother shaking on the floor, my mother looking distraught; crying on the floor next to Anthony, and the rest of the family –my step-father, aunts, uncles, and grandparents-- frozen with fear.

End Notes: Hope you guys like it, and I as I said, drama-filled. lol. Review and I'll update really soon, the next chapter is lined up. :) but review!
