My life was a life of darkness

Before you came

You brought light into my life

It’s twilight

The end of something old

And the start of something new

But then you left me

Taking with you all the light

I struggled in the darkness

I grieved in the darkness

That was my life without you

My life was like a moonless night

Before I knew you

There were stars in life

Points of light and reason

Then you shot across the sky

A meteor

Setting everything on fire

Brilliant and beautiful

But when you left

When the meteor had fallen over the horizon

Everything went black

Nothing had changed

But my eyes were blinded by your light

I couldn’t see the stars

Anymore

Life held no reason
