The sun was rising when we stepped up to the front door of the huge white mansion. It wasn’t enough so that the sun rays would show us for what we really were, but it was enough to let the different colors paint across the sky.

“Well look who’s up.” Carlisle said from behind us. He must have just gotten home.
He walked towards me and gave me a huge hug. “Hi Carlisle.”

“Bella you are very beautiful.” Carlisle smiled at Edward.

“You’ll never believe what she can do.” Edward anxiously blurted out.

“So you’ve already developing your ability. That’s great. What is it?”

“Actually abilities.” Edward corrected him. I think he was more excited than I was.

“You have more than one. Amazing. Well what is it?” His eyes were burning with curiosity.

Edward fell silent, allowing me to finally get a word in. “I can read minds like Edward. I had a vision like Alice. ” He nodded his head, and was about to say something, but I continued. “And I can feel and manipulate emotions like Jasper.”

Carlisle’s head tilted to one side. His head was filled with confusion, the same confusion that clouded my mind since I woke up.

“That’s strange.” he admitted.

“Carlisle this isn’t just a coincidence, right? I mean how can I have powers exactly like all three of them?”

“Right, right.” He understood completely. Finally someone that was on the same page as me. “Let’s go inside and try to figure this out.”

We shuffled into the house. Everyone had gone off to do well…whatever it is that they do. I wasn’t entirely sure what vampires did with all the time they had, but I guess I would soon find out.

Emmett and Jasper were on the couch playing video games. I could hear Rosalie in her room, staring at herself in the mirror. She was ridiculously vain. I wish I didn’t have to listen to her tell herself that she was beautiful about every two seconds. Esme was straightening up the house. Alice appeared at the steps as soon as we opened the door. She was very concerned over my previous episode.

I was instantly filled with warmth. This was my family. My life. It was real. I would have them for all of my existence. I never thought being apart of their family would fill me with this much joy. It was better than I had imagined. Of course I was sacrificing my entire other family, but like I said it had to be done.

“Bella you look a lot better.” Alice was by my side, taking in my new happier appearance.

“I feel a lot better.”

“I also see you’ve fed.” I almost forgot that I had.

“Yeah I did. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I actually liked it.”

“Well of course you did. You’re a vampire now, blood holds something entirely different now.”

I laughed. She was so up beat even if I was still upset, there was no way to stay that way. Her bubbly personality spilled over into me, filling me with such pleasure. I was thankful no one was feeling anything too depressing or even overjoyed. There were all pretty much laid-back right now. This I could completely handle.

“So Bella,” Carlisle was beginning to grow interested about my abilities again. “When did you notice your powers?”

“I woke up to Edwards thoughts. At first I wasn’t sure if he had said it out loud or not, but then as we continued talking, I realized that I was hearing things he wasn’t saying. Then we came down stairs. When Emmett came to give me hug, I had a vision. Then,”

“Wait when Emmett gave you a hug? You didn’t even come in contact with Alice yet?”

I thought back to when we first came down stairs. “No, Alice was the one that gave me a hug first.”

“Oh ok.” He stopped, so I went on.

“Then Jasper put his hand on my shoulder, and that’s when I started feeling everyone’s emotions.”

“I see. Well it makes sense now.” I wasn’t sure what made sense, because I was still confused.

“What makes sense?” Jasper asked. Everyone was down stairs again, wanting to hear more about my powers.

“Bella can absorb other vampires powers and make them her own.” I wasn’t expecting that. “She has to come in contact with them first, but then after that she’ll always be able to use them. It’s really an incredible power to have, you’re very lucky.”

I didn’t know what to say. There really no words to say when someone tells you’re lucky for having a vampire power.

“Right on Bella.” Emmett came to give me a hug. He was cautious at first, just in case I went into another fit from a vision.

“Thanks.” I don’t know if thanks was the right word, I really didn’t do anything.

Edward wrapped his arm supportively around my waist and pulled me close. I looked up at him, he smile down at me. He was proud of the beautiful, strong being that I had become.

“Bella I’m so glad you have visions too. I finally have someone that will understand. It’s so hard having visions that ruin everything, but then they actually never happen.” She glanced mockingly up at Edward, who in turn, just looked away. “I’ll help you control it, it’ll become so much easier.”

“Ok.” I still didn’t know what to say.

“And I’ll help you with controlling everyone’s emotions.” Jasper chimed in, trying to be supportive. I was glad that I wasn’t in this alone, that they would be here to help master my powers.

“And of course I will help you with all the crazy voices.” Edward leaned down and kissed my forehead.

I smiled and leaned against his shoulder.

“Let’s go upstairs.” Edward grabbed my hand and we were already halfway up the stairs before I could even answer.

I thought I heard Alice laugh, at what I’m not sure.

“Sit down.” he instructed, so I followed.

“What’s going on?” I tried to read his thoughts, but all I got was black emptiness, so I assumed he was blocking me. He had his back turned to me, and was just standing in the middle of his room. “Edward?”

He finally turned around and was holding the same red velvet box, from the night Victoria grabbed me. My mouth dropped at the sight of it. I had totally forgotten the fact that he was going to propose. He knelt in front of me on one knee.

“Bella, I wanted so badly to give this to you in such a more…romantic way.” I was frozen with shock. “I know you already saw the ring and I know that you knew this was coming. I wasn’t sure if you would still love me after I changed you, so I wasn’t sure if you would still have me.” The only emotion that was coursing through him was apprehension. His walls had collapsed from being so nervous. “And I know that…”

I placed my finger over his lips and stopped him. “Edward.” He had no idea what he was saying, or when he was planning on stopping. Again his thoughts were misguided. “I’m so disappointed in you.” His expression changed and he fell to both knees. I smiled. “I thought you would now me better than that.” I grabbed his face with my hands, and looked into his beautiful golden eyes. “There is nothing in the world that could ever stop me from loving you or having you forever.”

He grabbed me around my waist and twirled me around the room. Then put me back down and got back on one knee.

He took a deep breathe. “Isabella Marie Swan.” He opened the box. “Will you give me yourself for the rest of eternity?” He pulled the ring out of the box, and grabbed my left hand. “Bella, will you marry me?” He slipped the topaz ring onto my left ring finger.

He was smiling from ear to ear. We were both filled with such love and happiness, I thought I was going to burst.

He instantly grabbed me again and swung me around the room. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his face. He put me down and let his lips passionately caress mine. I almost melted in his, he couldn’t have asked in a more romantic way.

Everyone came crashing into the room and pulled us apart. Emmett grabbed Edward and hugged him. Alice grabbed me and squeezed me tighter than the hug from this morning. Everyone followed suit, even Rosalie, who tried very hard to be as kind as possible. I was so glad she was warming up.

“This is so great.” Alice squealed.
Her thoughts were filled with plans for the wedding, shopping, shopping and more shopping. I wasn’t looking forward to that.

“We’ll leave the two of you alone now. I’m sure you have many things to discuss.” Esme said kindly.

She came over and hugged me again, holding on just a little longer than before.
“I’m so glad that you are part of our lives. I love you dear.” She whispered into my ear.

Her words wrenched at my none existing heart. Her approval meant more than I would have imagined.

“Thank you.” I said in a broken voice.

I was sure to start crying soon. There would be no tears, just a broken sound from my chest.

They all walked out of the room.

I sat on the couch and Edward followed. I rested my head into his chest and wrapped my arm around his waist. His fingers were dancing along my arm. We selfishly engrossed ourselves in each others embrace.

“Are you happy?” he whispered in my ear.

“More than you could know.” I said blissfully.

“Me too.”

He lifted my chin with his long pale fingers up to his perfect lips. His lips moved slowly along my jaw line, I didn’t have to breathe, but he still had the ability to make me breathless. He kissed me below my ear, while a single finger traveled slowly down my neck gently drawing patterns on my chest.

He finally pulled away and I snuggled my head back against his sculpted chest. We hardly spoke, but that was fine, words weren’t needed.

I thought about if this would be our life. Days of just being together in each others embrace for immeasurable moments.

There are no words to describe my happiness, I was glad to be back safely in his arms. Victoria was dead, and she no longer was a threat. There was no one out there seeking revenge for a dead mate, we were free. Our forever could finally begin.
