We got to Port Angeles in record time, even faster than Edward. We went straight to the movies, not wasting any time. We saw a romantic comedy, but neither of us found the humor. It turned out to be a sappy love story, trying to throw in a punch line to lighten the mood, but with no success. We left the movies dissatisfied. Alice decided I needed to eat. We quickly grabbed something from McDonalds, for some reason we were in a rush. I ate my food as quickly as possible, not wanting to slow Alice down even more.

Alice checked the time. It was now 2:45 pm. She made the decision that we had enough time to do some shopping. But again her face gave her away, and it seemed that we were shopping for something in particular.

She found a small boutique, that was filled with beautiful dresses for just about every occasion. I hoped she wasn’t planning on actually buying anything from here I had no reason for a dress. It only strengthened my suspicions and anxiety about tonight. As soon as we walked in Alice already had two dresses in hand, no doubt for me to try on. I followed as she looked over every dress, I didn’t want to get in her way, she obviously knew what she was doing.

“Come on Bella, don’t look so sad. Have some fun.” She looked at me as we walked to the dressing rooms. Her face still lit with excitement. “This really isn’t going to be as bad as you think. Try to be optimistic.” .

“I just don’t like surprises.” I pouted. “I’m finding it very hard to optimistic. I just hope Edward doesn’t expect me to dance again.” I stated defiantly, remembering me hobbling around on Edwards feet as we danced around the gym floor.

“Don’t worry,“ Alice looked at me with caring eyes, trying to reassure me. “He won’t expect you to dance. Have some faith, he knows what he’s doing.” She had put all the dresses in the small changing room. And gestured for me to begin trying on the countless dresses she had chosen.

I tried on five dresses, before Alice finally saw one that she loved. She stood up in excitement, as she made me pose for her. It was a beautiful blue - like the blouse I had that Edward said he was partial too. It was a halter that tied around my neck. The satin material was fitted around my waist and flowed out at the bottom, just stopping at my knees. It was absolutely beautiful, and I didn’t even want to consider the price.

We had spent an hour searching for the dress. Which I thought was completely over the top. As the day started coming to a close, my stomach started to turn. I still had no clue what was going on, and why I could possibly need such a elegant dress. But Alice never said a word, as we moved on to the next thing she had planned.

We first placed the dress in the car, before Alice pulled me along to a small beauty salon. I looked at Alice shaking my head, with disapproval. We couldn’t possibly be going in there. Alice just looked at me with that mischievous look and practically dragged me through the doors.

“Don’t be difficult Bella,” she looked at me firmly. “It‘ll be fun.”

It wasn’t crowded, there were three women working, two of which were occupied cutting two other women’s hair. The woman at the counter was tall and blonde. She was very beautiful, but of course was nothing compared to Alice or Rosalie.

“Good Afternoon ladies, My name is Rebecca. How can I help you?” she said with a little to much gusto. She looked Alice over, almost uncertain of what to do.

“Good Afternoon.” Alice said kindly, her eyes dazzling. “We have an appointment under Bella.” I looked at Alice quickly, with shock. She had known all along that this was exactly what we were doing today.

My eyebrows furrowed. “Alice, you had this planned?” I said in astonishment. My suspicions about the day were finally met. “Why did you even bother asking me what to do today, if you already knew.”

“Honestly Bella, would you have come if I told you what were doing?” She looked at me, waiting for an answer. I opened my mouth to speak, but Alice started again before I could say anything. “No you wouldn’t have. So can you please stop pouting and enjoy the rest of the day. It really isn’t that bad, most people love being pampered, but you…” She wasn’t upset just confused to way I was so against them spending there money on me.

“Thank you.” I said instantly, not wanting her to think I was ungrateful. I smile halfheartedly.

“Just enjoy this, please.”

“Fine. No more pouting.” I was serious, and changed my mood at once.

Alice sat in the waiting area, reading a magazine. She would glance up at me and smile every so often. Rebecca did my hair. She left it down, curling the ends, so that my hair had waving curls. It was so simple and beautiful. She then did my makeup. Keeping it simple. She lightly put black eyeliner on my top lids, a hint of eye shadow, then mascara. She left my cheeks bare, as Alice instructed. And then filled my lips with red lipstick.

I stared at myself in the mirror, it reminded me of the day Alice made me up for the prom. Alice was behind me, she looked me over and nodded with approval. She looked at Rebecca and smiled. They both made there way to the register, while I sat staring at the unfamiliar person in the mirror.

We left the beauty salon, and made our way to the car. As we left Port Angeles, I couldn’t help from fidgeting. The day was finally over, and I would see Edward soon. I was suddenly very nervous to see him. This was the longest we had been apart in a long time, I wasn’t sure if I was more anxious to see him or finally find out what was going on.
