Ally’s POV:

None of them imprinted.

I had expected at least one of them to perhaps, just maybe, imprint that night. But, alas, there is still time. Plus, Embry seemed to really hit it off with one of the girls, Elizabeth. She was sweet and so was he, so I really hoped it would work out.

“Ally, have you seen my—“

“It’s on the mail counter,” I replied to Jacob’s unasked question. I knew he was going to ask where his police badge was. He always loses it.

“Thanks babe,” he grinned, holding my face and kissing me softly.

He let go and I closed the faucet, finished with cleaning the dishes. I helped Jake put on his belt, tugging on the hooks and fastening it.

“Yum,” I licked my lips. He looked at me with confusion.

“You’re gonna cook something? You don’t have to, I can bring—“

“Jake!” I laughed, stopping him. “I was talking about you. You look yum in your police outfit.”

I smirked as recognition hit his eyes and he looked down at me with a wolfish look he had perfected.

Oh, really now?” He waggled his eyebrows and I giggled like an idiot.

“Yes. What can I say? I have a thing for the man in a uniform,” I bit my lip and looked up at him through my lashes. “Unless they bother me with all those rules that I just love to break.”

“Well, ma’am, as long as you’re following all the rules, the man in the uniform won’t punish you,” he whispered.

“What if I want to be punished?” I said breathily, almost melting into his arms.

“That can be arranged…” He leaned down and gave a searing hot kiss, the one that sent fire from my lips to my toes.

“Don’t go to work,” I mumbled as his hands held my waist firmly.

“I have to,” he mumbled back, but kept kissing me.

“Right, you should go,” I said as he moved his lips to my ear and down the hollow on my throat.

“Definitely,” he muttered against my skin, now onto my collar bone.

“Have you noticed that we are practically addicted to sex?” I snickered as his hand went lower than my hips. “I wonder if that’s abnormal.”

“Seems perfectly normal to me,” he felt his smug smile resting on my shoulder and I felt my eyelids flutter in bliss.

Then apparently, there was a distraction.

Jake growled suddenly, pulling away from me and scowling. Just when I was blinking out of my kissing-daze, I looked up at him in confusion.

Perfect timing,” Jake grumbled, his tone downright sarcastic. “Really, it’s freakin’ just wonderful how perfect their timing is.”

“Ungh?” Okay, so maybe it wasn’t one of my most…eloquent responses, but you can’t really blame me. It’s Jacob.

He smiled down at me and moved my hair back, kissing my forehead.

“Surprise,” he rolled his eyes just as the doorbell rang.

Again … uungh?
