(Bella’s POV)

First, what to do about the human Bella…I have to get her to Carlisle.

Sprinting back out the airport doors, I conjured up an invisibility illusion. After all, it might be a little strange to see a girl carrying a practically identical, unconscious version of herself and running at the speed of light while sparkling. Yup, I’m pretty sure that might spook the crowd and also expose me as a vampire.

I took left on the highway, remembering the way to the ballet studio—most likely they were over there. I looked down at the unconscious Bella. She was a mess but I could still detect faint breathing, so I figured she was okay. I stopped at the silver BMW at the side of the road, the Cullens, all except for Edward, were perched on the seat.

“CARLISLE!!” I yelled, and all six of them turned to look at me, puzzled looks on their faces. Then I realized I was still invisible.

After dropping my illusion, I realized another flaw in this plan. All six of them were staring at me with the most incredulous looks upon their faces. After all, I just appeared out of no where, sparkling, a vampire, and carrying the human Bella in my arms.

“Bella…?” Carlisle asked faintly. “Ummm…what did I miss??”

Uggghhh…. I did not have time to explain this right now. Placing the unconscious human in Carlisle’s arms, I shook my head. “I promise I will explain all of this just as soon as I get Edward. Fix her—she’s about to die.” I said, pointing to the human me.

And I headed back to the airport, leaving six gaping vampires in my wake.

I smiled sweetly at the flight attendant as I boarded the plane, stunning her with pearly white teeth. I had to say, being a vampire did have some pluses…thanks to a little sweet-talking at the front desk I was now seated in first class.

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard southwest Airlines, we hope your trip is as comfortable as possible. We are ready for takeoff so if you would please turn off all cell phones and electronic devises…” The pilot rambled on over the intercom. I tuned him out, focusing on what I was doing.

Edward couldn’t be very far away—after all, his family wasn’t too far away. I wondered vaguely if he planned on running or taking a plane, and decided that he would run. After all, last time he ran.

Last time…

I recalled that horrid memory and shook my head. Hopefully he was running and I could get there quicker, therefore avoiding an encounter with Aro and Jane and the rest of them. Aro’s sickening begging was too much—it was disgusting. And I shuddered as I recalled the “liberties” again.

No, this time I was going to stop him before we even reached the gates of Volterra.
