Saying goodbye had been hard. I had become rather attached to Edward, and I was reminded of that dreadful day in the forest when Edward had said goodbye for real. And I also felt bad for the human Bella, because in a couple months she would have to go through the same thing--left all alone in the forest. Part of me wanted to tell Edward to stop it--to never leave and to hold Bella close, but I knew better then to tamper with time.

But now, there was the blinding white tunnel again, leading me back into the future. I felt the memories slowly growing weaker the farther away I got from the past, and wondered vaguely whether I would have any memories left by the time i got back.

There was a sudden jolt and I opened my eyes to find myself still in the white machine. Except Victoria, Alexander, and Dr. Mavis were no longer beside me--instead they were on opposite sides of the room and James was with them.

The word hit me, and for a split second memories collided inside my head. A millisecond of an airport somewhere, a quick flash of the fateful ballet studio that I woul recognize anywhere, a second of Edward sparkling outside Volterra.

The memories vanished just as quickly as they appeared and I shook my head, utterly puzzled. What in the world...? Each image screamed deja vu, but I couldn't place where exactly I had seen them...

Edward. Get to Edward. My brain said, and I looked around. If I wanted to escape, now was my chance. Everyone else in the room still hadn't shaken their dazes, and the focus wasn't on me.

Quickly assembling an invisibility illusion, I slipped out of the time machine. I crept swiftly to the door and out into the corridor. A door stood at the end of the hall, light peeking in underneath it. I sprinted towards it.

I was almost there--just a few more miles. I had been running for a couple hours now, and the sun was beginning to set. I was starting to recognize the underbrush and the familiar pattern of dappled sunlight through the trees, so I knew i had to be close. Either that, or I was going around in circles.

I hear loud voices coming from somewhere ahead of me.

"Seriously?" A males voice sounded. My dead heart leapt a beat, and i pushed myself faster. THe voices grew louder.

“I saw it in a vision!! She was running, and then I saw you! And you finally smiled after all that time!” A sweet soprano voice resounded through the trees, a smile broke out across my face, and i screamed.

Whipping through the last skirts of trees I hurtled myself into the sunlight. There stood, in all his angelic glory, the sun reflecting off his marble skin and lighting up his topaz eyes, my perfect savior.

I flung myself into his arms.

"Bella..." Edward whispered.
