An hour had past sense we got in the car, and before anyone had spoke last.

All I listened too was the purr of the engine, the click of the clock on the dash board (which made me a little anxious), and Edward, who sang my lullaby softly in my ear.

“Pull over a minute, Carlisle.” Alice’s voice startled me.

“Alice we really don’t have time we-.” Carlisle’s sentence got interrupted by Edward.

“Trust her, dad.” Edward said in a firm voice.

“Of course.” Was his simple answer. The car swerved smoothly to the side of the high way, coming to a sudden stop.

“What’s wrong?” he asked Alice.

That is it, if he could ask a question, I could. I just couldn’t hold it in any longer. It was like when you were a little kid, and you wanted ice cream. You felt like you had to ask, because you knew that was the only way to get ice cream, because you desperately wanted it. And I wanted the answer.

“What about Renée and Charlie? Will they be okay? I don’t think they should be unprotected, unless you don’t see others going to get them” I whispered quietly.

They all turned to look at me, Carlisle seemed to be deliberating. Alice and Edward looked like something was bothering them.

“Actually, Bella is right.” Alice whispered too.

“I am?” I asked. “yes.” Edward answered. “Alice what do you see?” Carlisle asked.

“It’s not good. Victoria knows about Denali, because of Laurent. She thinks we will go up there, so she’s sending half of the crew, it is no longer safe.”

“We need to turn around and go someplace else. I bet the house isn’t safe anymore either.” He replied to us grimly.

“No, your right, the house is no longer safe. They have been snooping around over there; we have to get away as soon as possible.” Alice agreed.

Alright, so we are going someplace else, this made me a little more comfortable. I really didn’t want to meet new vampires right now, I was more then elated with the Cullen’s. But what about Charlie and Renée? Are they in danger, because I knew I always put them in danger, I put myself in danger constantly.

It didn’t matter though, as long as I was with Edward. I wanted to be with him forever. I knew he would have to change me soon, because I couldn’t keep putting the ones I love into jeopardy, including the Cullen’s.

Everyone knew that and Edward was just too stubborn to realize it. It was a flick that Alice saw, seeing me become a vampire, so I got a chance at least. Alice saw it before I ever met her, I know it is going to happen, and some how, even if this wasn’t the time, I felt excited.

“We need to call the others. We need to tell them to go someplace else. I think Bella’s mother and father shouldn’t be left without being protected.” And with that Alice picked out her tiny silver cell phone out of her bag.

There was my answer, my parents were in jeopardy, and I can’t help but feel I was responsible. That made my stomach turn and my heart rate speed up. Edward noticed and rubbed my back in soothing patterns.

Alice dialed a number with a short, but quick, movement with her fingers and had the phone to her ear.

“Jazz, where are you?” she asked. I kept quite. I had to listen very closely to catch every word she was saying. Edward’s grip tightened on my hand a little.

“Alright, well, stop the car. Plans are changing.” She continued to speak.

What’s wrong? A lot of things are wrong jasper.”

“For instance, we need to deicide someplace else to go, Victoria knows about Denali, so she has two up there. The house is no longer safe as well as Bella’s parents.” Just hearing the news once more made me feel queasy.

“Ok well give the phone to her.” Alice paused for a second while, as it sounded, the phone was being passed from one person to the next.

“Esme, you need to stay in forks and watch Charlie. Rose needs to go to Jacksonville and watch Renée. There is going to be a weather front, no sun for 5 days, which should be enough time.”

I listened, mouth open to the new information. Alice’s voice continued to speak on the phone.

“rose-.” Alice’s sentence seemed to get cut off.

“Rosalie Hale Cullen, how dare you say that.” Alice’s voice whipped through the words. So much for the whole family liking me.

“You are so self centered and arrogant sometimes. You know what, have it your way. I don’t care anymore, nor will I take responsibility for your actions. I’m sure Esme won’t mind going down to Florida for Bella’s sake.” Alice said.

“Alright it’s settled then. Give the phone back to jasper.” She said with a sigh.

“Give the car to Esme and Rosalie. Run to our car, it’s about 2 miles away.” And with that she flipped the phone shut.

Everyone just sat there waiting, I was feeling anxious again. I was suddenly glad jasper was coming. We herd a knock on the passenger door. I jumped at it.

“Bella, it’s just Jasper.” Edward said. I relaxed a little and buried my head in his chest. Suddenly Alice was sitting next to Edward and me in the back seat, with jasper suddenly where Alice used to sit.

Carlisle started the car immediately, making the dial on the speedometer go up quickly. Alice started talking to jasper, her wintry lips moved to fast for a human to understand.

Carlisle joined the conversation and so did Edward. I finally determined that they were trying to agree on a place to stay.

“Where are we going to go?” I asked Edward softly as the conversation ended. “To Chicago.” He answered simply.

“Alright, you know, I have never been there either?” I asked in a teasing voice. “I had a pretty good guess.” He chuckled.

Something just occurred to me. If Rosalie was in forks, Esme in Florida, Edward, Carlisle, Alice, and jasper with me, where was Emmett?

“Where is Emmett?” I asked out loud. “He stayed at the house, only now he is going to Florida with Esme, because Victoria knows how strong you react to your mother.” He clarified.

I simply nodded. All I want to do now is rest my head on Edwards cold chest. I really didn’t even feel the coldness anymore, it felt normal too me, it felt right.

Edward held comfort to me, and I would be embarrassed to say how much comfort he was too me. That’s just what I need at a time like this, comfort.

That only lasted a couple of hours. It was one o’clock in the morning now, and I still didn’t sleep. I think Alice and Edward noticed, and they both turned to look at me, Alice with curious eyes.

“You should sleep, love.” Edward insisted.

“I can’t.” I admitted.

“Is it because your cold, I can sit you up right, or get a jacket for you or-.” I couldn’t let him go on anymore, he cared way too much, and I loved that he did. It shows a sign that he loves me.

“No. no, it’s just, I can’t sleep, that’s all.” I said.

“Don’t tell me you can’t sleep, I can’t sleep.” He teased. It was true though. Alice let out a long sigh before speaking.

“Are you sure you can’t?” she asked.

“Yeah, people, or should I say sadistic vampires, are trying to kill me.” Edward flinched as I spoke, but I continued with my sarcasm anyway.

“But I’m super calm; I could sleep the whole day away!” Alice rolled her eyes at me before turning to jasper.

“Jazz?” she asked softly.

“Of course.” He answered her, already knowing what she was going to ask him. Jasper turned towards me and smiled,

"Oh, no. not again." i feared. jasper was going to use his power on me.

“everything will be alright.” He said, rolling his eyes at my reasponse.

I suddenly felt my eye lids closing. Jasper had indeed used his ‘gift’ on me, probably to full affect. The last thing I herd or felt was Edward kissing me on the forehead and his arms around me, holding me close.

“Good night, my angel.”
