It was moments later that we pulled up to forks high school.

I looked around as Edward helped me out of the car; next to us was a familiar looking red convertible, whose owners name just happened to be Rosalie. Everyone was walking towards the gym, for that was the only place that was big enough to hold school dances.

I stumbled a bit walking up the curb and on to the side walk that led to the ticket booth. As Edward was buying tickets I noticed something. Edward looked happy, I probably looked nervous, and all of my classmates looked ill at ease to see the oldest Cullen’s back at the high school, because everybody still thought that Emmett, Rosalie, and Jasper were in collage.

I had a feeling. The kind that you get when you feel like something is going to happen to you. And it was going to be something bad. I knot formed at the pit of my stomach. Why was I so nervous? A dance isn’t something to make your stomach feel weird, but a feeling is.

I felt like I might die today, but that was ridicules. Why would that be?

“Bella? Bella?" Edward waved his hand in front of me, trying to get my attention.

I soon realized that I was so wrapped up in my thoughts that I was just dazing off into space.

“What? Oh, sorry Edward.” I apologized.

He shook is head and smiled at me, typical Bella. He took my hand and we walked to the other side of the gym doors.

I really didn’t know what to expect, there was crape paper all over the place. It was ridicules; posters all over the walls that said ‘welcome back’ for the seniors last year and balloons and lights decorating the bleachers as well.

“The decorations at the prom were even better then this, is that even possible?” I asked teasing.

“apparently.” Edward chuckled. Once again, all the rest of the Cullen’s were in the center of the gym floor.

Edward started over there, as I pulled back a little.

“Edward, why do we have to do this?” I complained.

“Be nice. You’re doing this because you love me.” He said.

“fine.” I mumbled.

Alice and Rosalie were looking ravishing with Rosalie in a dress that looked like she should be on a run way. It was a strapless gown that was red and faded to a darker red at the bottom.

It was always layering, but fit to her body perfectly, leaving everyone who looked at her with awestruck eyes. Alice was wearing a dark purple dress, almost a maroon, but not quite, the color matching perfectly with her skin. It was strapless on one side and had a strap on the other.

The material of the dress was glossy and was sewed together in a beautiful arrangement. The dress was tight, showing off all of her curves, and flowed out around her feet. All the men had on black tuxedos, looking perfect with there light skin, I almost felt out of place.

Alice smiled at me, and I smiled back.

“Bella, can I have this dance?” he asked me in a teasing voice.

I glared at him with a ‘you have got to be kidding me’ type of look.

“Come on little coward, dance with me please?” but before I could respond Edward lifted me up so that my eyes met his.

Edward stared waltzing, twirling me around with him. Even though I told myself I would be in a bad mood the whole dance, just to show him that it wouldn’t work that they forced me, I couldn’t help but have fun.

“I told you it was all in the leading. Why don’t you listen to me more often?” he asked me smiling.

But before I could answer him he stopped dancing in the middle of a song and set me down on the ground gently. I didn’t understand his expression.

It was like everything was in slow motion. The music was in the back round now, and I only looked at everyone else’s face. I couldn’t look at Edward’s face any longer, so I turned my head franticly to Alice. Her face was worried with a mix of panic. Rosalie’s face was worried as well, but she already had a phone to her ear. Jasper, Emmett, and Edward’s faces I suddenly understood, it was a deadly look.

What was wrong with them? Edward jerking me to the right broke my train of thoughts; I soon came back to reality.

“Edward, what’s wrong?” I asked, almost to scared to know the answer.

Edward had a firm grip on me and his face was dead set on the only way out of the gym. I ran to keep up with him, but soon he put his arm around my waist to support me, so he could walk even faster.

“Bella, Edward, I’m sorry. I should have seen, I should have known. I-” Alice said catching up to us, the others fallowing behind her.

“Alice it’s alright, we just need to get out of here.” His tone was grave.

“They have tricked us Bella, the other vampires. We thought they left, when they really came back.” He said answering my question, his face never left the gym doors.

I wanted to scream to the other students to tell them to run, why were they all still dancing and laughing?

I knew I couldn’t though, and I had to clamp my hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming at all. Of all the places, why the high school? Victoria’s army could risk the exposure of all of them, and then Edward would have to leave. What if Edward gets hurt? What if anyone gets hurt? These questions blocked half of my mind.

Edward burst through the gym doors; Emmett and jasper were next to him, Rosalie and Alice next to me. Rosalie snapped here cell phone shut, it made me jump.

“I called Carlisle and Esme, they are on their way.” She said. Edward nodded.

We were walking in the parking lot, towards our cars, when everyone froze. Jasper and Emmett cursed under their breath, and there was a low snarl that came from deep within Edward. They were all looking at an unfamiliar car there.

My pulse sped up, and I fought back tears. Alice and Rosalie garbed me and put me behind Edward, but before they did that I saw them. Four handsome men immerged out of the car, I studied there features behind Edward’s shoulder.

They had all the features of a vampire; light skin, handsome, and unlike the Cullen’s their eyes were red, red from human blood. I shivered. And then there was the one vampire I had hoped I would never see again, the one who wanted to kill me. She stood back leaning against the car door, with a wicked smile on her face

All of them growled now. If that feeling was strong before, it was nothing on how I felt now, did I some how know that I was going to die today?
