Heaven’s Life Takes as it Gives

A brand new life,

My baby- no strife.

Did you feel what I did?

Did you know I loved you?

To the ends of this world I would venture for you,

My darling, a small little thing, captivated anew.

A brand new life I held in my hands...

A brand new life with no where to go.

A brand new life that I loved...

I loved you so.

But it was wrong when Eve ate the apple,

It was wrong for me to believe.

For when your time did come,

And all too soon at that,

I bit the apple and hoped with the Lord’s might.

Shall he be pleased and give you a life?

Your little soul flew up from my hands,

Shuddering your last cry,

And whispering your last breath.

No, no I begged,

For days on end...

Till at last the answer came,

A wish, more or less.

I stepped my last step and looked up to the heavens,

If you take my baby,

I cried,

Then you will take me as well!

I flew down,

The winds having mercy.

I smiled,

At the thought,

That I’d be with my baby once more,

But then I did realize,

All to soon,

As I plummeted down to the Earth...

Was it heaven for me?

Or was it a fiery hell...
