I floated into the lunch room with my mind blank and my face expressionless. I saw David motion me over to a lunch table where the Bella, Edward, and Alice were sitting. He immediately knew that something was wrong.

“Reese, what’s wrong?” he asked calmly. I ignored his question and sat down next to him. “Reese?” he asked more urgent. I wouldn’t let my mind remember why I was so scared. “REESE!” he yelled and grabbed my shoulders. He turned my whole body so that I would face him. “Tell me what’s wrong.” I knew I couldn’t stall any longer. I felt my face fill up with fear and I grabbed on to David’s shirt. “Reese?” he asked weakly.

“Michel,” was all I said. He pulled me towards him and patted my back. To anyone else it looked like my brother comforting me after having a rough day.

“Don’t worry, Reese. Michel won’t touch you again.” I nodded and brought my head up. I hadn’t shed a single tear but I was still shaking. I sat up strait and looked at the space in front of me. “I brought you some lunch,” David said as he handed me a lunch tray.

“Thank you, David!” I said cheerfully. How could Michel touch me with my David by my side? I looked over to my left and saw Mike and his friends staring at me. It was probably because I was hanging out with the Cullens. I gave them the evilest glare I could and they all quickly looked away.

“You’re getting good at that,” David commented.

“Oh shut u-”

“I had a vision,” Alice stated. We all looked towards her. “I don’t know f it’s true, but Michel is going to try to get Reese alone after school. Reese doesn’t have anyone of us with her in her last class.”

“I can stay in the classroom until David comes to get me,” I suggested.

“You can’t stay in the classroom alone,” David said.

“Then I’ll stay in the crowded hallways and I can meet you at the car.”

“I’ll meet you near the office.”

“Fine.” I turned my attention to my food and started to eat the cheap pizza that the schools serve. I would have to run off the extra fat.

“Oh yah! Alice, is there a Track team?”

“A very, very small one.”

“Do you know who the coach is?”

“Ms. Kinsley is the coach should be in her office.”

“Thanks.” I stood up and got ready to go.

“I’m going with you,” David said.

“I don’t need my brother to follow me everywhere.” That comment seemed to bother him.

“I’m coming anyway.”

“Fine.” We threw our trash away and walked out of the cafiteria. We walked towards the locker rooms since Ms. Kinsley was the gym teacher. We reached the girls locker room and I turned around to face David. “You can’t come into the girls locker room with me.”

“I’m going to stay right out here.” He looked around and saw that no one was around. He took the chance to plant a light kiss on my lips. “Don’t stay in there too long,” he warned.

“I won’t.” I then opened the doors and stepped into the locker room. The lights were almost all turned off. I turned on the lights, but they all flickered out. Weird…I thought. I yelled out her name.

“I’m in the office,” she yelled out.

“Oh! You know that the lights are burned out, right?” I yelled out. I opened the door to the office and stuck my head in.

“Ms. Kinsley?” I asked again. Something was defiantly not right. “Um…where are you?”

“I’m right here.” I was suddenly pulled into the office and the door closed shut. My mouth was covered so I couldn’t scream.

“Reese?” David called out anxiously.

“I’m okay! I just fell over some benches! The lights are burnt out!” the voice mimicked mine perfectly.

“Is Ms. Kinsley in there?” he called out again.

“I’m in here! We’re just going over some medical obligations!” Once again Ms. Kinsley’s voice was mimicked. My mind finally started working and I put the pieces together. Michel…

I tried desperately to yell out for help, but Michel’s stone hard hand prevented me from doing it. I had to let David know I was in trouble. I kicked the door to the office as hard as I could.

“Are you okay, Reese?”

“I just knocked over a chair!” said my fake-voice. I kicked again. Michel backed me up against a wall and pressed my legs to it.

“Reese?” David called out.

“I’m okay!”

Where was David’s vampire-intuition when you need it! Why wouldn’t he just come in? An incredibly absurd idea came into my head. Maybe, if our love was strong enough, I could send a message in my brain to his. SAVE REESE, SAVE REESE. I chanted in my head. Needless to say it didn’t work.

“Reese!?” David called out again.

“I said I was okay!” my fake-voice said a little too angrily. That tipped David off and he came flying into the locker room.

“Let her go, Michel!” David snarled.

“Never!” Michel said just as acidly. David took a step forward. “One more step and she’s dead!” Michel warned. David stopped instantly. His eyes went hard and he stood up strait. David suddenly had no emotion in his face and he looked washed out. I suddenly felt a cold hand reach out and brush my arm. There was no hand there and I squirmed a little, but then realized what was happening. David was finally putting his power to good use!

My heart tempo increased incredibly and Michel looked down at me confusedly. Suddenly, something hard collided with Michel’s head and the illusion David that was in front if me disappeared and the real David appeared behind Michel. I was instantly freed. I took the chance to run from the bathroom and out of the locker room. As soon as I was in the hall way, Alice and Edward ran inside the locker room to help David. In a few minutes Edward, Alice and David walked out of the locker room calm like they didn’t just tear Michel into pieces.

“Is he gone?” I asked weakly. David nodded. I threw my arms around his neck. “Thank you! How did you do it?”

“Do what?”

“The illusion!”

“I made my self invisible and made and image of myself where I was before. It was really hard making two illusions at once, so that’s why the illusion of myself wasn’t perfect.” I just jumped onto him even more.

“I love you,” I whispered into his ear.

“I love you, too.”

I didn’t care that we missed a little of our next class. I didn’t care that I didn’t learn any thing in my last few classes of the day. All I cared about was the one person that I would spend the rest of eternity with. All I cared about was David. David, my love...my life.
