Chapter 4

“Yes,” I said. I saw no point in wasting all that time that Alice had spent preparing for this just because some werewolf had almost killed me

Everyone was sitting back in their places and the wedding continued as if nothing had happened. The only thing different was that now I was dressed casually in one of Edward’s old T-shirts and Rosalie’s pants, as a replacement for my brilliant white wedding dress and instead of standing upright by myself I leant against Edward, with his arm wrapped around me as a support.

"Do you, Edward Cullen take, Isabella Marie Swan to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part.” said the Priest

“For Eternity” Edward said with the hugest smile on his perfect face.

"Do you, Isabella Marie Swan take, Edward Cullen to be you husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part." The priest said again

“I do,” I said smiling with joy.

Then the priest blessed the rings. Edward gently lifted my left hand, and slipped the beautiful opal ring onto my third-finger. His face was gleaming with happiness and pride. I could feel my cheeks blush as I smiled a huge and happy grin back; I didn’t care that I was wear a daggy T-shirt, I was with him forever and that’s all that matter.

“You may now kiss the bride!” the priest announced.

Edward slowly leaned forward and my heart was racing before our lips even meet. I felt all his happiness flood me with a massive wave of emotion. It was if nothing bad existed. I could feel everything good in the world flow through me. I pulled away breathless. I stared into Edward’s sparkling eyes and I saw the same wonderful emotion of pure happiness reflected in his.

* * *

I don’t believe it! I thought to myself, I’m married! We all were walking casually back from the tent to the Cullen large white house, presents filling everyone’s hands. I was walking with my husband – Edward Cullen, well, not really walking with him, he was carrying most of my weight as I slowly walked back to the house. Alice came running towards us – though not to fast – with the most exuberant smile.

“Congratulation!” she said while she hugged both Edward and I. “You’re my sister now Bella!” she said excitedly, her face brightening.

“Yes!” I said hugging her again, “Hello, Sis!” she smile a huge, happy grin.

“I’ll see you in a bit,” Alice said as she quickly dashed into the house as my family and friends came over to congratulate us.

Charlie, Renee and Phil were the first to reach us. Charlie still seemed cold to Edward as usual but Rene was so overwhelmed with emotion, although it didn’t surprised me.

The Cullen’s living room was absurdly decorated with streamers and balloons in pink, white and gold. At the edge of the room was their dining table; in the centre of it there was a huge pink and white three-story wedding cake. How ridiculous, I thought, of the few fifteen people attending the after-party, only eight of whom could actually eat.

Edward sat me down on the couch.

“How are you feeling?” he asked he voice anxious though his face was still bright with happiness.

“The happiest I have ever felt!” I said smiling at him.

“Me too. So, How’s your back?”

“Better.”

Suddenly Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper were there, congratulating us. They were all so kind and loving, though I could sense there were other things they wanted to talk about privately, that would have to wait.

At that moment Alice showed up.

“Can I steal Bella for a moment?” she asked Edward.

“Sure,” he said happily, which implied he knew what Alice was planning to do.

I stood up with a bit of help from Edward and slowly followed Alice. She led me upstairs and as soon as we were out of side Alice picked me up, impatient with my speed, and flew me to her bedroom then sat me on her bed.

“So what’s going on?” I asked curiously, but still happy.

“Well, I can’t have you dancing around in Edward’s old T-shirt?”

“Oh,” I said unhappily, “you’re dressing me up?” I said now slightly outraged.

“Don’t be difficult, Bella! Edward’s going to LOVE it!” she sounded ecstatic.

“Fine.” I said sulkily there was no way i could ever win against Alice. She disappeared into her walk-in-wardrobe. A moment later she returned with a beautiful blue silk dress.

“I saw this and I knew it would be perfect for you!” Alice said smiling.

“What! You bought this for me!” I said outraged.

“Well, if you’re going to act that way, No I didn’t buy this for you I bought it for Edward!”

How could I fight against Alice, she always won. Then I slipped the dress on. I was very comfortable and felt nice on my sore back. It had short sleeves and was over the shoulder; it's collar had a shallow dip; it flowed nicely around my body and cut off near my ankle. Alice swiftly came over with my stilettos. I tried to protest but she insisted I wear them and I could see that she was prepared to use force. She then ran a hair bush through my hair though did no major work to it. Then she stood me in front of her massive mirror and I was shocked. Alice always had a talent of making me seem more beautiful then I actually was – I liked it.

“Thank-you,” I whispered to Alice as I spun around.

“My pleasure!” she said, pleased.

As we slowly made our way down stair, I could feel every eye on me for the third time today. Edward’s face was full awe as he stared at me in the new silk dress. I gazed back into his beautiful golden eyes I forgot everything around me and stumbled over the high heels. Edward quick grabbed me gently before I could my hit my head. Then he swiftly put my on my feet and I felt my cheeks burn from the embarrassment once again. He gently kissed me on the lips.

“What are we going to do with you?” he said sheepishly. I just smiled back at him. “You look awfully temping in that dress, you know.” He whispered, kissing along my collarbone.

There was beautiful classical music playing in the background and Edward placed my hands around his neck then put his hand back around my waist so that I couldn’t trip over my high stilettos. Then he was spinning me around too the music. All the pairs then joined in – Alice and Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett and Carlisle and Esme all so graceful compared to Jessica and Mike, Angela and Ben and Mum and Phil who simple sway to the music.

“Are you happy?” Edward whispered into my ear as I rested my head on his shoulder.

“Yes, No feeling will ever top this. You?” I asked curiously.

He pulled his head back slightly so that he could look at my face.

“This is and always will be the best day of my … existence!” his eye glittering with happiness as he continued to spin me gracefully around the floor.

We dance for a long time, though I felt no pain in my back. Then Edward walked me the table where Alice had laid out an assortment of foods. He poured me a drink and then we walked overto talk with everyone.

“Congratulations, Bella and Edward!” Angela said while hugging me.

“Thanks,” I said

“Congrats, mate” Ben said while he shook Edward’s hand.

Then Jessica and Mike came over; Jess was constantly flirting with Mike.

“Congratulation” they both said.

“So where are you going for your honeymoon?” Jessica asked; the question caught me off guard, I hadn’t thought about a honeymoon.

But Edward answered before I could say anything. “It’s a surprise, Bella doesn’t know yet.” He smiled at me.

I didn’t think we were going anywhere for a honeymoon, but I saw something in his eyes that made me unsure – was he kidding or was he serious?

“Oh!” Jessica said.

“That’s so nice,” Angela commented.

“I’m sorry I’m leave so early but I have to go” Jessica said as she handed us a large box wrapped in white wrapping paper. “Congratulations,” she said again. I carefully unwrapped it to reveal a picture, on the box, of a stunning set white plates and bowls.

“Just the thing any family need!” Jessica said.

Just the thing any human family needs, I thought to myself.

“Thanks, it’s wonderful!” I said as I hugged Jess and Mike.

“Thanks,” Edward said shaking Mike and Jessica’s hands.

“Well, I’ll see you later,” she said as she walked away pulling Mike behind her.

“Goodbye,” I said – I was sure that this would be the last time I would ever see both of them.

“Cake time!” Alice’s clear voice travelled throughout the room and Edward and I walked towards the table. When everyone was there, Edward said

“I would just like to thank all of you for coming today to celebrate our marriage” – he looked down at me – “and I hope you have had a wonderful evening.” Then Alice handed us the knife and carefully we cut the cake together.

Soon everyone had a piece of cake and was sitting down at the table; conversation filled the room. Charlie and Carlisle seemed to be having an in-depth decision about university though I knew Carlisle was just playing along.

Renee and Emse seemed to instantly click, and they were talking about the houses and designing.

Emmett, Jasper and Rosalie were having a private conversation so low that no one could hear – though I had a feeling it was about Jacob.

Alice and Angela were both happily chatting about college while Ben threw in a few comments.

I sat with my Edward, glad to be out of the spotlight for once. I leant my head against his shoulder but he seemed very tense.

“What’s wrong? You seem …distracted,” I said now becoming worried.

“It’s nothing,” he said as I pulled his gaze away from the window. But I knew that face too well.

“What?” I asked now anxious.

“Well it’s just …” he started “Jacob’s back.”
