Of course since Edward had bitten me, it meant that he had broken the treaty and we have to move. I found Edward sitting on one of the couches in the living room. I sat down beside him.

“Edward, where are we moving to and what does Charlie think happened to me?” he hesitated. I could tell that he didn’t want to tell me. I got that much from his thoughts.

“You’re not going to like this.” he thought.

“Carlisle told him that you and I had a car wreck and that car was engulfed in flames. Our bodies were too badly burnt for anyone to see us.” That’s when the realization set in. I was never going to be able to see Charlie or Renee ever again. There was no going back now, it was too late. But he still hadn’t answered my other question.

“Where are we moving to?”

“We thought about moving to a small town in Oregon or we might move back to Alaska. Carlisle hasn’t decided yet.” That was a long ways away. But no one would know us there.

“When do we leave?”

“Sometime soon before those filthy dogs come looking for you.” Jacob. I forgot about Jake. But it was too late now. He would just have to accept that fact that I was now a vampire. I could’ve read Edward’s mind to see why he was making that face but I decided that I would only do that if it was an emergency or I was mad at him. Since I didn’t think I would ever get mad at Edward, I would only read his mind in emergencies. I felt like he needed his privacy.

About that time we heard Alice scream. Edward and I ran up to her room. I was liking this whole vampire thing. I didn’t trip once. As we entered the room I noticed that she was having a vision. I chose this time as one of the few times I would read someone’s mind. It was all black but I could hear voices.

“We’ve got to go over there. They’ve changed Bella!”

“I know but we can’t just barge in on them.”

“Why not? They wouldn’t expect it and they will be vulnerable.” The voices sounded like Sam and Jacob. They were going to fight.

“When do we do it?” said another voice that I didn’t recognize.

“Sometime soon.”

“Bella?” It was Alice so that meant the vision was over. But why was she yelling at me? That’s when I realized that sometime during the vision I had fallen.

“Are you ok?” I nodded as I got up from the floor.

“We need to move now. Go pack your stuff.” I ran to my room to find Edward packing. He had already packed his and was moving to pack my stuff. We packed in silence, which didn’t take but about 5 minutes.

“I’m sorry Edward.” I said just before he walked out the door. He turned and looked at me.

“What for Bella?”

“For causing so much trouble for you guys from the pack.” He set his suitcases down and came over to me. He took my face in his hands.

“Bella none of this is your fault. It would have happened eventually.” I didn’t believe him but I let it drop since we were in a hurry. As we reached the bottom of the stairs, we noticed that everybody but Esme had left.

“Edward, you and Bella will take your Volvo. Everyone else had left. We’re going to Alaska.” With that she was gone and it was just me and Edward. We loaded out stuff and took off. We mainly drove in silence but it was getting to me.

“Edward, where exactly in Alaska are we going?” He thought about it for a while.

“We’ll be close enough to the town but not right in the middle of town.”

“Oh.” I was glad. I didn’t want to live in the middle of town.

“Is something wrong, Bella?”

“No, I was just thinking about what Alaska was like.” We sat in silence for a while only talking when we stopped for gas. Then I got an idea, we should play a game. If you’re going to be in a car for a while, why not play a game?

So me and Edward played a trivia game about presidents. Even though he lived through a lot of presidents, I still won. But I know he let me win on purpose. When it was his turn to answer, I read his mind and I knew he knew the answer but he said something else. After the game, Edward spoke up.

“Bella, we’re here.” I looked up to see this gorgeous house. It was a 3 story Victorian style house. Edward told me that it has 6 rooms. One for each couple, one for Carlisle’s study, and an extra one. As we walked in Edward told me that I could pick our bedroom. So I picked the one on the top floor. Alice and Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie got the second floor and Carlisle and Esme’s room and his study was on the ground floor.

“Bella we need to go hunting.” Uh oh. He hadn’t taught me how yet.

“I’ll teach you Bella. Don’t worry.” So Edward and I took off. While out in the woods, he told me how to hunt. Then I was on my own, he went to hunt himself.

I took advantage of it. I saw 3 deer running ahead. I ran at them and downed one. I couldn’t believe what I had done but once that warm liquid ran down my throat, I forgot about everything. Edward came back a short while later.

“Have fun?” he said as he smiled my favorite crooked smile.

“I don’t know if you could call it fun.”

“You’ll get used to it.” He picked me up and carried me to the house. Not that I mind Edward holding me but I was a vampire now, I think I could walk for myself. He put me down when we got in the house.

“Edward can I see you a minute?” It was Carlisle.

“I’ll be back in a minute, Bella.” he leaned down to kiss my forehead before he took off up the stairs.

“Bella,” Alice said as she walked down the stairs. “Do you like this house?”

“I love it. It’s so huge.”

“So have you and Edward broke in your room yet?” I knew what she was getting at and if I had been human, I would be blood red. I knew she was just messing around, she didn’t mean it.

“Umm…”

“Alice that’s personal.” Thank goodness Edward came to save the day.

“Now if you don’t mind I need to talk to you Bella.”

“Ok.” As Alice left, Edward led me over to a couch.

“Carlisle told me while I was up there that we would be starting school again.” Little did I know that we would start tomorrow. Alice must have heard him because she came back down the stairs and grabbed me.

“C’mon Bella. Let’s go look at your clothes I got for you.” as we went through the million and million of clothes, I noticed that it was 9 o’clock. In a few hours we would be starting school.

“Alice how old are we going to be?”

“You, Edward, and I are juniors. Emmett, Rosalie, and Jasper are seniors.” To finish the night, Alice and I picked out our clothes that we would wear tomorrow on our first day back to school.

On our way to school the next day, Alice filled everyone in about their age. As we got to the school, we went into the main office. Jasper was the one this time to dazzle out way into getting our schedules. I looked at my schedule and saw that I had the last two classes with Edward: English and ancient history. Today would be a long day. As we walked to our classes in silence, I took this time to read Edward’s mind. He was thinking of the things that we did the first night I was a vampire.

“Ahem.” He turned around and looked at me. I raised my eyebrows at him. He knew what I had done. He looked away, smiling.

Edward walked me to my first period class but then stopped. He put his forehead to mine.

“I love you. I’ll miss you.” he thought.

“Me too.” I whispered as I stood on my tip toes to kiss him. My first 3 classes seemed to take forever to go by. Then finally lunch came and I got to see Edward again.

“How was your classes Bella?” he asked as I sat down by him.

“Oh just boys and their thoughts and girls hating me before they get to know me. How was yours?”

“The same.” Lunch just isn’t long enough because as I was telling Edward about this one boy thinking about me and him getting married, the bell rang. I ignored my next class. I had already learned this stuff in Forks.

Finally I was in a class with Edward. We chose seats in the back. That’s when my thoughts turned to this one girl.

“Ooh, he’s hot. Maybe I should go talk to him.” Who does she think she is? Edward must have heard her too because he was smiling. She decided that she would come over to talk to him because she stood up and was walking this way.

That’s when I grabbed Edward’s left hand. I positioned it so she could get a good view of our rings. She must have took the hint or she heard me growl but either way, she turned around and left us alone. Edward leaned across the desk and kissed me.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” Our first few days at the new school, I had to keep doing little things like that to show everyone that me and Edward were together. The first few times was fun but after that it got annoying until a couple of months later.
