One-shots

Summary:
This is a ton of one-shots that I wrote. They take place in the mind of people that in the Cullen's human life they were close to. For example their best friend, sister, etc.

Notes:

1. Vera and Rosalie

The last time I had seen Rosalie Hale, my very best friend, was the night she came over to my house to visit Henry and me. That was the first time he had ever sat up on his own and I had made a little cake to celebrate. I remember Rosalie had said she wanted to get home quickly so I had served her a piece before my husband got home. When he had gotten home, Rose had jumped up and said she had to go so I scooped up my little Henry and my husband took my waist. We walked her to the door and when Rose was putting on her coat, not looking my husband kissed me on the cheek. I could see Rose grimace a little so I still wonder if she saw us. I know Royce never kissed her like that, never cared about her and I was worried about her. I had tried to warn her tonight but she had shrugged me off saying,”its little Henry’s day! Let’s celebrate!” This made my little Henry dimple which got the two of us cooing him. This was the last time I had seen her smile, saw her talk.

That night I wondered if she shouldn’t have called her father to walk home with her, but she was in such a hurry, I couldn’t even suggest it. I put Henry to bed that night, just knowing that something bad was going to happen, a sort of precognition, if you believe me.

When I woke up, my husband had not left for work like he did every morning. Instead, he sat at our kitchen table slowly sipping coffee. He announced to me that Rose had not returned home last night and that Royce King, her fiancé was calling off the wedding. I had a horrible feeling about that man since the very beginning. He didn’t really love Rose and this proved it. No one even knew what had happened to her! She could have been alive, still, but it wasn’t like Royce cared.

In fact, that morning, while at the market I saw Royce talking to another of my friends, Carole, but I saw, happily, that she ignored him.

Throughout the next week our city was plagued with a killer. It is rumored that before Royce’s death he hid in a bank cell like the coward that he was.

Royce King’s burial was an extravagant one, much bigger and grander than Rose’s, yet barely anyone went to Royce’s. We buried Rose’s favorite dress and locket since we never did find her body. It was whispered that she never really died, but whether that is true or not, I cannot say. I wish with all my heart, however, that that was true. Rosalie was too young to die, too beautiful. She had too much of a future ahead of her to just die like that.

Royce once told me that he had seen a beautiful blonde girl watching him. I like to think that was Rose protecting my son.
