"William" I heard someone sing from outside my closed door, but I wasn't paying attention to who it was. I didn't look up from my book as the door opened.
"What," I asked, voicing my irritated. My family knew not to disturb me while I was reading. The only person who barged in like this was…Alice. She was interrupting my moments of peace before the guests arrived.
One of my greatest passions was reading. When I read, it seemed like a very elaborate and detailed movie was playing in my mind. It seamed like it was just the characters lives became reality. Bella had once told me that I was a male version of Hermione Granger from J.K. Rowling's series Harry Potter. She knew that that series was my absolute favorite. I personally think I'm nothing like Hermione because I read for pleasure out of novels not to learn from textbooks. I actually hate school with a burning passion.
"You don't have to be so rude!" Alice yelled quietly. I could hear the pout forming on her mouth as she spoke.
"William, be nice to your sister." Esme scolded as she entered the room behind Alice. I finally looked up from my book. Alice was sitting cross-legged in front of me, pouting. I sighed.
"Alice, sister dearest, why do you call," I asked sweetly. Alice laughed because my voice slipped into its natural British accent. It seemed to do that often.
"Bella would like to ask you a question," She imitated my accent, still smiling.
"What is her question, for me." I asked suspiciously.
"You'll see…" She trailed off. I glared at her as she stood up in a fluid motion. "I've got to go see if Rose will help me. Esme, will you help me convince her to do Bella's hair?" Esme nodded and they left the room together.
I sighed once more and put my book back with the other six Harry Potter books. I walked slowly, since there were humans in the house, down the hall to Edward's room. I opened the wooden door.
"Bella, What--" I stopped mid-sentence. Bella wasn't alone. There sitting next to her was a beautiful girl who could have been Bella's twin, but her skin was even paler.
The girl looked up; her mouth formed a perfect 'O'. Her light brown hair lay completely strait on her shoulders. Her eyes where enchanting, the perfect shade of silver. They seemed to shine without light.
I couldn't look away, and neither could she. I completely forgot that Bella was in the room, until she spoke.
"William," She was clearly confused by the way I had burst in. "Er… this is my sister…Lily" She was looking between the both of us.
"Sorry Bella, I didn't know you had company. I'll just go." I turned and started to head back out the door, but something caught my wrist.
I turned to see Lily grasping my wrist. I had expected her to flinch away at my body temperature. Then I smelled the familiar sweet sent that meant she was a vampire. She was looking up into my eyes.
I noticed for the first time the specks of gold scattered in those silver eyes. I was still mesmerized.
"William, please don't attack and don't leave. You should hear everything first" A sweet velvety voice entered my mind. I looked down to see her pleading eyes once again.
