I was appalled by her rash unprecedented decision! How could she so that. Why would she so that, to Charlie, Renee, Phil, … I shuddered as I thought of the last one, Jacob.

Why didn’t that dog watch out for her? He was probably to busy burying a bone the filthy, untrustworthy, mutt! I fumed as Alice sat quietly watching me with a pained and surprisingly angry face.

“You promised, Edward.” She whispered heatedly

“I know, Alice” I answered bitterly. I had begun pacing the floor as Alice thought. I could hear her saying in her mind, You should have changed her when you had the chance!

“I don’t need that right now Alice” I growled “Don’t you think I blame myself enough!”

“We can’t do anything Edward you promised no interference, remember?” a bitter tone curled her words and they burned my ears when I heard them nearly splitting my mind and heart in two.

“Well, she broke her promise first!” I snarled “We leave now to go to Volterra.”

She smiled sneakily “Very well then” she replied and hastily exited the room with her dancers graceful lope.

At that I had a flashback to all of Bella’s clutzy behavior and I sobbed and wept, tearlessly.

“How could you do this to me Bella!” I cried out in anguish “How!”

I swore I almost heard her say “Because I love you Edward.” And with that I set out my purpose clear.
