I woke up and looked next to me, to see those onyx eyes staring back at me. I grinned, pulling him in for a kiss.
“Well, good morning to you too, love. I can tell you’re anxious about today. ”
“Mmmh.” I grunted, suddenly remembering the date. Today, I was going to be married. By this afternoon, I would be Mrs. Edward Cullen. I was excited about the things that would come afterwards, but not so excited about the wedding. The invitations had been sent out, and all the preparations were complete. All that was left was the actual reception. I shuddered again, but this time because Edward had pulled me closer to his icy chest. He put his cheek to my hair, as I put mine to his chest. We lay there, relaxing in the silent room. Well, that is, it was silent until there was a knock on the door, followed by the sing-song voice of Alice Cullen.
“Are you two, erm... busy?”
“C’mon in, Alice.” I answered, my giggles stifled by Edward’s stone torso. Alice danced in, a wide grin across her face. She’d been so excited when I agreed to let her plan the wedding, and her glow was spreading through everyone. Even I was getting into the spirit.
“Alright, everything’s set. I was just wondering if you guys have any last minute changes?”
I sat up and looked towards Alice. She was such a tiny girl, sitting in the bed I was taller than her. I sighed, and shook my head.
“Nothing I can think of. Alice, do we have to do this?” I asked, even though I knew the answer.
“Bella, you promised. Plus, I know what I saw, and I saw you standing with Edward, and you looked so happy. I know this is what you really want.” I knew she was right, and I sighed again and snuggled back into Edward’s chest. He looked down at me, smiling his crooked smile.
“Bella, love, the wedding will be a wonderful day. It’s every woman’s dream, to have such an extravagant wedding! Why must you have such odd dreams? I mean, what woman doesn’t want a lovely wedding, and wants to become a vampire? You silly, silly Bella. But, after today, you’ll be my silly Bella.” He finished, kissing the very tip of my nose, making me shiver. Alice walked over and dragged me out of the bed. She muttered something about lazy, and I looked back at Edward. He just shrugged.
Alice pulled me to her bedroom, handing me my wedding dress. I grabbed it and stripped down, stepping into the dress. Alice helped me pull it up, the she zipped up the back. I started to walk towards the mirror, but she held me back. ‘Not yet’ she whispered at an almost inaudible level. I sighed, as she led me into the bathroom, covering my eyes as we walked past the mirror along the wall. She sat me down on a chair she had set up, next to it a small table with many pins, brushes and make-up. She combed down my hair with intense speed, and I had a feeling that this was going to be the quickest wedding make-over in history.
“You can look now.” Alice said, helping me up from the chair. She fixed something in my hair, smothed down the dress, and led me to the full-length mirror in her bedroom across the hall. I turned to face the long mirror, my reflection filling the rectangular glass. I stared in awe; I was shocked at my own reflection. I looked beautiful. Alice stood behind me, a smile on her face. I fely my eyes getting hot, as a tear rolled down my cheek. Alice stepped up behind me, wrapping her cold arms around me, as more hot tears spilled down my face. I couldn’t believe that I was getting married. I thought back to the day, when I told Charlie I was getting married. At first, he was furious. He yelled for hours, but Edward stayed with me the whole time. He finally calmed down, and realized that Edward was who I would always be with, so he accepted that we were getting married. Alice kissed my shoulder and left me in front of the mirror, walking out of the room to check on Edward and Emmett.
I checked the clock on the wall. I was getting married in one hour. I felt sick to my stomach, and then Rosalie walked in. I turned to face her, and I saw her gasp.
“Wow, Bella, you look beautiful.” She saw my tears, and walked over to comfort me. She placed a hand on my shoulder, kissing me lightly on the cheek. She stood next to me in the mirror, the lace on my dress matching hers. Alice walked in wearing a dress matching Rosalie’s. She gracefully danced towards my other side, placing her hand on my other shoulder. I suddenly felt at home, like this was my family. These were my sisters. These were the people I loved. I suddenly felt happy, overjoyed; I was waiting for this hour to pass so I could go out there and marry the man I loved. I looked into the mirror and smiled. I stood there for what seemed like ages, just watching the two stone-still figures on either side of me.
Alice led me towards the Cullens’ back yard, where it was set up with around 60 chairs, every one occupied. I saw Charlie standing there in a new tuxedo, and I felt tears welling up again. He looked over and saw me, his eyes widening. I walked up to him, as Alice whispered ‘I love you.’ In my ear and went to her place. I grabbed Charlie’s arm, kissing him on the cheek. He looked down at me, his eyes shining with wetness. I looked down the aisle, and saw Edward standing at the end, next to Emmett. He looked amazing in his tuxedo, his hair combed to the side. I’m guessing Rosalie or Esme did his hair, seeing as if Emmett had done it, he would have been partially bald. I giggled at the thought, and a couple people in the back row turned to look at me. I’m guessing that was the queue to start. I inhaled deeply as the music started, and Charlie walked with my down the aisle.
I took the last step, and Charlie let go of me. I turned towards him and nodded in a sort of ‘Thank-you’ and turned back to Emmett, who had taken a course and was going to be our preacher. I only half-listened as he was speaking, reciting as he asked, until the final part.
“Isabella Marie Swan, Do you take Edward Anthony Mason Cullen to be your loftily wedded husband?” I looked into Edward’s liquid golden eyes, and I knew we were meant to be together.
“I do.” I whispered softly.
“You may kiss the bride.” And, Edward leaned in and kissed me with the more passion than ever before. I kissed him back, knowing soon we would both be one.
