Marcus and Eve hunted in New York City, the perfect area for two vampires that had little time to waste. After their thirst was satisfied, they began the long drive across the country to Forks, Washington. However, it only took them a few days to reach their final destination, considering they didn’t need to sleep, eat, or stop at all besides getting gas. The outrageous speed of the car helped too, of course.

“We’re here!” shrieked Eve when she saw the sign that read “Welcome to Forks!”

Marcus chuckled softly. He’d loosened up a lot in his few days on the road with Eve. A few minutes later they were parked next to a silver Volvo in front of a large, white mansion. Eve turned to Marcus, grinning from ear to ear. “Ready?!” she squeaked.

Marcus nodded, smiling. They were immediately confronted with a furious Edward.

“What do you want?” he snarled at them both. Eve seemed to miss the terrifying tone of his voice.

“Hey! I’m Evangelina, and this is Marcus.” she took hold of Edwards hand, shaking it so enthusiastically that it threatened to fall off. He was shocked at her happiness, but overcame it quickly and yanked his hand out of hers.

She let out a magical giggle. “Why so tense? I can see that you’ve already lived up to your end of the deal.”

After a long moment of silence Eve spoke up. “Well, aren’t you going to invite us inside?”

A wicked smile took over his face. “Of course.” he hissed through his teeth. “Right this way.” He pivoted and made his way slowly up the driveway. Eve was right on his heals, skipping happily.

She looked over her shoulder, noticed Marcus still standing by his car, and let out an exaggerated sigh. “Don’t mind him,” she murmured to Edward. “He’s a bit shy.” She walked over to Marcus and grabbed his arm, nearly dragging him into the house.

The door opened, revealing all of the Cullens standing in the living room with their arms crossed over their chests. The silence only lasted one second though, once Eve remembered the tall vampire in the back.

“JASPER!” she gasped, tackling him and practically breaking him in half with a tight hug.

“Evangelina?” he asked in amazement. “Oh my god! It really is you! How’ve you been?!” His excitement flowed through the room, lightening everyone’s mood.

“I’ve been great! How about you?” They went back and forth, asking each other about their lives since they’d last seen one another.

Alice ended their exchange by clearing her throat. “Jasper, who is this and how do you know her?”

“Alice, it’s not what you think. This is Evangelina. And I…well I kind of…”

“Yes?” she grumbled in a low, threatening voice.

“I changed her.” he whispered, barely audible, even to vampire ears.

Alice was clearly shocked by his response. “When did this happen?”

“The night that Bella was changed, I went out to get away from the smell. I ran into her, painting in the forest, and was unable to control my thirst. I didn’t tell any of you because I was ashamed. I even kept it hidden from Edward.” he turned and looked Eve in the eye. “I’m so sorry for-“

Her laughter drowned out his apology. “Don’t be sorry! You biting me is the best thing that I can remember happening.”

“Okay, who’s going to introduce me to all of these wonderful people?” she waved her arms at the rest of the Cullens.

Jasper chuckled and pulled her over to the rest of his family. Marcus followed behind her protectively.

“This is Esme, my mother.”

“Pleasure to meet you.” Esme greeted, shaking hands with Eve.

“Same here.” Eve responded, smiling brilliantly at Esme.

“Carlisle, my father.” he gestured towards the man at Esme’s side. They shook hands as well.

“Rosalie, my sister, and Alice, my wife.”

“Nice to meet you Rosalie. I love your shoes by the way.” Rosalie laughed and thanked her for the complement. Eve greeted Alice and they shook hands. The moment their hands touched, however, Eve pulled Alice into a hug.

“We are going to get along SO well! I absolutely LOVE to shop! You’ve got to come with me sometime, we’d have a blast!” she yelled, and she and Alice were immediately blabbering on about the latest fashions and trends.

When they were done, Jasper introduced her to Emmett. He’d picked her up of the ground and swung her in circles, demanding that she wrestled with him later.

“Okay…but you’re gunna lose.” she replied smugly.

“I beg to differ. No offence, but you don’t look that strong.”

“Looks can be deceiving.” she shrugged, turning to meet the newest Cullen.

“You must be Bella. I can’t thank you enough for giving me a reason to get away from that place! I positively hate Jane, and Felix was really beginning to bug me.” She hugged Bella in thanks, and noticed that even though she was using Aro’s power at the moment, Bella’s “voice” was oddly silent. Eve had only a fraction of a second to consider this before she was off of Bella by Edward.

“Don’t you DARE touch her!” he snarled. He now stood in front of Bella protectively.

Marcus protectively placed himself between Eve and Edward. “Control yourself!” he spat at him, his eyes turning from a light burgundy to pitch black in the blink of an eye.

Eve was surprised by how protective Edward was over Bella. What surprised her even more was how protective Marcus was over her.

“Edward, please.” Bella sighed. “She was just giving me a hug; you don’t have to rip her head off.” He calmed down a bit, moving to stand next to her with an arm around her waist.

Nice to meet you too Edward, thought Eve.

Stupid Volturi girl, if she tries to pull anything I’ll kill her in a heartbeat. Marcus too, thought Edward.

“Excuse me?! You couldn’t kill me if you tried! God! I touch your precious jewel and now you want to kill me? Rude much?!” Eve spun around and left the mansion, furious.

“Eve! Wait up!” Marcus ran out after her.

He caught up and gently took hold of her wrist, directing her back to the house. When they got back inside, everyone was staring at Eve, confused expressions plastered on all of their beautiful faces.

“Did you just read my mind?” asked Edward. The rude edge in his voice from earlier was replaced by utter amazement.

“I don’t know. Did I?”

“But how…..Oh, I see. Interesting.” His eyes lit up as he read her thoughts.

Marcus chuckled and everyone turned to stare at him. Could this day get any weirder? “You’d have a hard time killing her, she’s met Jane before.”

“Someone care to explain what the heck is going on?” Emmett burst out.

Eve quickly explained to the clueless faced Cullens about her ability to mimic others’ powers.

“So, you’re saying that you have like, what? Twenty different powers? That’s AWESOME!” Emmett boomed, causing everyone to cover their over sensitive ears.

She giggled, “Still wanna wrestle with me?” she smirked.

“Hell ya!”

“Come on then! What are you waiting for?” she asked, dragging him out the back door and into the forest behind their house. Everyone followed eagerly, this was going to be quite entertaining.

“Hold on there, we can’t do this here, everyone will hear. Let’s take it a little farther into the forest, shall we?” suggested Carlisle.

They traveled deep into the forest, just far enough so that they were positive no humans would hear. The two opponents bowed to each other, each grinning wickedly. Marcus stood tensely on the sidelines, hoping that his angel paid good attention when he was teaching her about fighting techniques.

Quick at a flash of lightning, Emmett charged the small figure in front of him. Eve stepped aside just in time and Emmett grabbed onto nothing but air. Taking advantage of his current position, she lunged at him. A second later they were both fighting for control on the ground. Emmett flung her across the clearing, and she hit a tree, snapping it in half with the force of the impact. Marcus flinched and noticed Rosalie had relaxed just a fraction.

Eve stood up, laughing. “Nice.” she commented. She faked a right, and Emmett fell for it, moving directly into the path of destruction. A loud thunder clap reverberated through the trees when they collided. Marcus could take it no longer. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see what would become of his lives light. When he opened them, Emmett was missing an arm and Eve was grinning at her accomplishment.

He grabbed his arm off the ground and let it glue itself back onto his shoulder. By the time he got it back on, Eve was behind him and ready to pounce. She leapt up and landed swiftly on a very surprised Emmett’s back.

Giggling madly, she snapped her jaws together by his ear. “I win!” she sang.

He let out a long sigh of defeat. “I suppose you did. Where’d you learn to fight like that? You didn’t even use any of your powers and you still beat me!”

She sauntered over to Marcus and looped an arm through his. “Marcus taught me.” she glowed. He smiled down at her in fascination. How could anyone be so darn cute? A smile tugged at the corners of Edward’s lips as he read the thoughts running through Marcus’s head, and they instantly ceased.

All the laughter that had been ringing after the battle suddenly ended. The sound that caused the abrupt silence came from a large pair of rust colored paws.
