The pain lasted for days and the entire time I closed my eyes for the pain. What was happening to me? Why had those two bitten Jake and me and why was I now in such searing and unbearable pain?

I constantly wondered where Jake was. I felt guilty that I had led him out him out here. And to what, die? This though caused me more pain then the actual pain, I found. It was emotionally tiring, but I found that I couldn’t sleep oddly enough.

After about four days, the pain subsided. Slowly, I opened my eyes and found that I was sitting in the middle of a cave. Everything around me was damp and I didn’t like it. I turned around but couldn’t find Jake, Johnny, or Dally.

I decided to sit in the middle of the wet rock floor and wait for them to come back. They would come back, right? They wouldn’t put me through all this pain just to abandon me when it was gone. Jake wouldn’t let them…would he?

I grimaced and turned toward the mouth of the sickly hot, smelling damp cave. I found that I was thirsty, but didn’t crave water. Instead to my dismay and surprise, I craved blood.

I wrapped my arms around my bent knees and laid my head upon it. It was a very uncomfortable position but I found that it took my head off the thirst, slightly.

It must have been over an hour before I moved even a muscle. After a while, I realized that I wasn’t even breathing.

Suddenly, I heard a piece of driftwood crack outside and then male voices started talking. I pulled myself p and jumped behind a rock.

There was another crack outside and I crouched, hearing my knees crack below me. I shifted uncomfortably but I heard the voices and the footsteps cease. They must have heard me.

Suddenly, I realized that they weren’t breathing either. These must be the boys. Hesitantly, I stepped out of where I had been hiding.

It was the boys, all three of them. I had an epiphany. . I was a vampire. So was Jake and so were the boys. I shrieked in fright and Vampire Jake stepped forward slightly towards me.

I stepped back, but realized that the hard cave wall was behind me. I was preparing to start running when I smelled it. It was the most wonderful scent, better then any perfume.

Dally stepped beside Jake and held out a deer’s corpse. I stepped towards him and hungrily grabbed, well jerked the deer out of his arms. Without thinking, I sunk my teeth that were seeping venom into the furry flesh.

I sucked and I sucked so soon, too soon, there was not another drop of blood in the body. I lifted my head at the boys that were watching me and I hissed angrily through my teeth and leapt at Johnny.

“Get me more!” I demanded of them.

Dally walked toward me, this time carrying a live goat. He dropped at my feet and backed away.

I dropped to my knees, mud ruining my jeans and instantly killed the helpless animal.

I drained its blood in about a minute and found to my relief that my thirst was now manageable.

I picked up the goat with one hand and threw it to the corner where I had abandoned the deer’s lifeless form.

I turned to Dally and saw that he was grinning at me. I looked him over. He had golden butterscotch eyes and pale white skin.

“We have more to our coven-five more, but they are still hunting. You two will meet them later.” Johnny stated, breaking my concentration.
