Naïve

It was as if my life had come to an end,

The hole in my chest would not mend.

It wasn't like someone had fled,

No, it was like someone was dead.

But, I still continued to exist,

Hoping that I may be missed.

Why, oh why did he leave?

Because I had been so naïve

About the love he made me believe.
