It was still the first day back from school, and we had just gotten out.

Matt was driving me crazy. I mean, considering making his head disappear crazy.

"So, can I take it for a test drive?"

"I already told you no, Matt." Usually, a polite person would stop asking.

He was begging. Pathetic.

"Awww, come on!"

"Matt!" I spun around angrily, "Can you PLEASE STOP ASKING?!"

I jerked the door open and practically dove inside. I slammed it shut roughly.

"See you tomorrow," I muttered as I started the Volvo. It purred territorially as Matt made to open the passenger door.

I pressed the automatic lock, not even bothering with manners now, and backed carefully out of the parking space, Matt staring sourly after me.

I turned the radio up as I turned out of the parking lot, and on a split decision, I opened my phone to text Alice, after pulling into the grocery store parking lot and parking, of course.

But as soon as it opened, my phone vibrated, alerting me that I had received a new text. Alice.

Alice: Consider message delivered.

I pressed the reply button, and typed.

Me: K.

My phone vibrated again. Bella.

Bella: Edwards not happy. :(

Me: Tell Edward that I'm coming home cause his delicate feelings r on da line.

It hurt my fingers, but I didn't care. I sent it and copied it to Alice.

Alice: LOL. I'm not gonna die.

Bella: rotflol.

I grinned. Then my phone vibrated again.

Edward: I know you guys are talking about me. Mind-reader, remember?

Me: Can you not try to spell evrythng rite in txt? Its sorta the point to spell bad.

Edward: I can do whatever I wish.

Me: Ur so unorthodox. G2g.

Edward: . . . . . Matt like the car? >:)

Me: Shut it. o o

Edward: Oooo . . . scary vampire.

He was being so rude. I made a new message and addressed it to Emmett.

Me: Edward keeps saying he can beat you in wrestling. I think he's right.

I could just imagine the uproar going on in the Cullen house right now.

Edward: I hate you.

Jasper: Nice one. :)

Emmett: SO UNTRUE! I'll show both you.

Rosalie: Lol.

Alice: ROTFLOL! This is gonna be good. :)

Bella: LMBO! lol. :D

.........Then Esme.

Esme: They just broke through the living room wall. I just finished painting that. :(

Me: Oops. Sorry mom. :(

Then I texted Alice.

Me: I'm gonna go now.

Alice: Kay. Keep ur cell.

Me: K.

Bella: Tell Jake hi! :)

Me: k.

I slid my cell back into my pocket, and started the car. I spun it around, and turned onto the road, heading for La Push.

I was into La Push before my brilliant plan came to a halt. Where'd he live? Dang.

Instead of knocking the door of every house on the reservation, I went to the beach instead. I put the car in park but didn't take the keys out of the ignition. Instead, I left them in, so my CD would keep playing. My car was practically ON the beach, so I could her the music great. I took my shoes of, sitting on the hood with my knees tucked to my chest, singing along as they went one, two, three, four, and now the fifth song.

I stared out at the cloudy sky, that reflected onto the gray water and made me feel like I was looking at a giant, wet cottonball.

I was singing Unwritten, and the beat rumbled in my ears, making me feel at peace, and happy. I caught myself doing something I hadn't done in a long time. Remembering.

Remembering how there had been warm, sunny days where I had lived, and where it was an event when it rained. It never poured, which provided wonderful riding condition; never pouring and flooding the arena.

A single tear ran down my cheeks, so light it might have been a thread of fishing line. My eyes hadn't even filled up.

I smiled a crooked smile, to no one in particular, and my mind changed thoughts so fast, in the moment I let my guard down.

The Volturi will kill you. And even if you ARE a vampire, they'll take you away, and lock you up.

I was frozen in such shock, my mouth slightly open and bottom lip quivering, that I didn't notice the warm front blow in to smooth my sudden goosebumps.

"What's wrong?"

I jumped and disappeared, making the owner of the voice disappear and reappear flying through the air, twenty feet away. They crashed into a tree, knocking it down with them.

I rolled off the hood and sank into a crouch, hissing as I bared my teeth. I quickly muted my heartbeat and emitted vampire scent coming off me, hoping they would believe this time.

There were three circling me before I could blink.

They growled and my stomach sank. My hair darkened.
