The wolves crouched in front of me, all of their lips pulled over their teeth, but the black one was the only one I saw. The biggest one, he easily outweighed my car, or Captain, and my eyes widened as an especially feral snarl ripped from his chest.

"Stop!" I ordered, still in a crouch, but they were driven crazy by the scent. I stopped it, but even I could still smell it in the air.

"I'm not a vampire!" I cried, and they just advanced on me.

I backed away carefully until I realized it was no use. My car vanished and the sound of my radio I hadn't even noticed cut off abruptly.

In unison, their heads jerked left to see what had happened and I spun, ducking my head down.

I appeared on the front porch gasping, and immediately Edward let lose a growl so loud, the windows vibrated.

I panted, clutching my side as Edward charged through the house, destroying various things in his path.

I opened the front door, and started at the wide hole the size of a car, in the living room wall.

"You weren't exaggerating," I muttered to Esme, who was taking in my terrified face, concerned.

"I'm fine," I waved her off, but Edward jumped off the staircase, landing in front of me.

"THAT IS NOT FINE!" He yelled in my face, stalking off and continuing his tirade on the other side of the house.

"They attacked you?!" Bella flew down the stairs and halted jerkily in front of me.

"I was already freaked out, then Jacob said 'What's wrong?' and I masked my scent and muted my heartbeat and then three wolves.....big black one..." I shuddered, rushing through.

"Sam," Bella nodded.

"It wasn't their fault, Edward just had to find some way to release his pent-up frustration and aggravation," I told Bella and we all froze when the yells that were now upstairs, stopped.

"For the good of this household, you need to give him his car back," I murmured to Esme out of the side of my mouth and she nodded wearily.

Alice was flouncing down the staircase, when she froze. We all looked up at her as her eyes went dead. Despite her still face, her fingers clutched together and broke off the banister, shattering wood fragments that rained down on our heads.

I barely noticed, my eyes locked on her blank face.

Edward's roar came from the other room and I didn't flinch. Something was coming. Something bad.

I just waited, my eyes focused so hard on her lips, waiting. For her to say it. Volturi.

But she didn't. She stood there, as we all got stiller and stiller.

I screamed to break the silence that was choking me.
