Bella's POV~ 3 Days before
She was invisible, true.
But I knew what I had done, and I knew what Lizzie would do.
I borrowed Edward's powers and found Jane's evil thoughts. There was another one there, with such ferocity it must be a newborn.
I focused in more on Jane's thoughts and gasped when I realized she was acknowledging us. Edward spun to set his gold eyes on my face, then closed his eyes and concentrated.
My mouth hung open as Jane delivered her heartbreaking message.
Cullens, you have lost. Your human pet is now writhing on the ground, as the venom trickles through her veins.
Her memory had been erased and I will raise her anew, on human blood that taints her soul.
I closed my eyes and Edward too, looked horribly pained.
I turned and crashed through the door, sending even more splintered wood scattering upon the floor.
The family followed me as we ran.
"Lizzie! Lizzie!" I sobbed as we barreled through the forest.
I stopped short as I saw something russet move through the trees.
"Jacob! Jacob help her!" I sprinted to him and almost crashed into the horse.
He was still bridled and saddled, and he was pacing and nickering.
"It's okay," I said gently, petting his nose.
I gently picked up his reins, and the family accompanied me as I led him back to the barn.
I stripped off the saddle and bridle, putting everything in the proper place just as Lizzie would have wanted it.
"Her memory's erased. Jane could have killed her. She's not the same person," Edward murmured in a broken voice to the rest of the family.
"She is the same!" I thundered, wishing tears could fall as I felt my face crumple.
"Right Alice?!" I asked Alice and she closed her eyes.
We watched as her face broke more and more, a picture of despair.
I didn't want to bother Edward's power.
I didn't want to see what they saw.
What burned their hope.
As Alice closed her eyes, we were both unwilling to see what would become of our Lizzie.
At first her personality was sweet, but Jane beat it out of her, setting vampires on her to make her vicious and pugnacious.
Her eyes were ruby red, but they had the same gold flecks.
The gold flecks would drive Jane mad, and she would torture Lizzie, again and again each time she looked in her eyes, or saw her long hair glow white.
The inly expression I saw on Lizzie's face was confused, or pain.
A newborn Jane had bitten, wiped Lizzie's mind blank, from what we could tell, and with each wipe, our Lizzie was moving farther back into her mind until she willingly slaughtered all the innocent people Jane set her on.
Alice and I broke out of the vision, this abuse tainting our eyes.
"She's the same . . ." I heard myself pant.
I was on the barn floor on my hands and knees, sobbing tearlessly.
Edward picked me up, and cradled me to his chest.
"Jane will pay."
And then we were running.
I watched Lizzie strain on the ground and projected those images from my mind.
They had to be coming, just as I'd planned.
We ran into the baseball field, but it was deserted.
The only reason I didn't know someone was going to attack from behind, is because I couldn't hear their mind.
Lizzie bared her teeth, and made me appear and disappear so fast I went flying.
I crashed into a tree at the other side of the field, but I slumped, instead of getting up.
I couldn't move.
Her red eyes turned to me next.
The only thing that gave me hope, is that her eyes still had gold.
"Lizzie," I whispered before I was too thrown through the air.
I was still as I landed.
There was no play this time.
There was no match.
She had beaten me as a human and she was still transforming.
Despite the pain she was being eaten by, or maybe because of it, we were all taken down.
I didn't see what she did to Esme and I could at least be thankful of that.
Lizzie took out the whole family.
Maybe it was the pain of the transformation.
Whatever it was, it made me so happy.
One by one they fell, none of them even trying to fight.
But still, she was merciless.
The last Cullen to fall, was Lizzie Cullen herself.
She fell because of the pain, true, but it wasn't just her body falling.
Her mind was wiped clean and she was no longer Lizzie Cullen.
That person was gone.
