“Alright, we would like to extend our offer about joining our little family here. You both would be such a lovely addition! Your powers are amazing too. We really want you both.”

I opened my mouth, and then shut it.

I looked to Edward, horror stricken that they were asking me that same question again, because it felt like it was last year all over again.

A feeling of unease crept through me, making it almost hard to breathe. It seemed like they were going to use whatever force necessary to get us to join.

I looked at Jane, who was smiling, like she couldn’t wait to use her power on Edward again. I shook my head franticly.

I was sure my heart would be beating so fast, I would have a heart attack if I were still human.

Edward put one arm around my waist, tightly squeezing me to him.

“Bella and I have a family, we could never leave them. I…We...” he said looking to me, I nodded, " We have to decline your offer.” He finished.

“Oh, what a shame. Well, there is always later, I suppose.” Aro said his smile fading just a bit.

“No,” I spoke up, pulling away from Edward. Confidence washed over me. I was a vampire too, stronger then everyone else in this room.

“No, there isn’t always later.” I said, shaking my head.

Edward was staggered that I was saying this, but I didn’t want to come back here ever again.

“I don’t want to hurt other people, other humans! With humans there is just one of that person, and if you kill that one person, there will never be another one exactly the same! But with animals it’s different, they are all the same. I would rather die than ever kill a human being.” I exclaimed. Edward looked rather pleased, but he tried not to show it.

It must have been something Aro was thinking, because Aro looked astonished that so much came out of me, when I was so silent before.

“Very well then, but that still doesn’t mean you couldn’t change your mind.” Aro muttered. I kept my mouth shut, because I would rather get out of here then talk back.

“Aro, I’m afraid we have to get going.” Edward hinted, going almost rigid. I didn’t understand until a scent hit me right in the chest. I dropped to my knees. It was the most delicious smell I have ever smelt. The humans on the airplane were hard, but this one smelt exceptionally good.

I growl ripped from me, and I doubled over. “Bella?” he asked in alarm.

Something inside of me was clawing to get out, my throat was so dry. I had to resist it. When I looked up, I heard Heidi and more humans enter the room.

“Edward,” I gasped, “get me out of here, NOW!” I screamed. I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to take it any longer.

We had a whole audience, and when I turned my head away from the humans, Aro now had a smug smile on his face.

“Bella, it smells good, doesn’t it?” he asked me. I nodded, still trying to fight with all my might.

Edward helped me to my feet, I was still shaking. I wanted to break everyone’s necks and drink the blood that ran inside of them.

“You could have this all the time, you know. Just try some; it’s not going to hurt anything.” Aro insisted.

I nodded, but then looked at Edward, struggling to keep me locked in his arms, “No.” I gasped. I shook my head, I couldn’t kill them, but yet the monster inside of me wanted to.

“Edward, get me out, before I do something I am going to regret!” I screamed to him. The pain was so bad in my stomach, Edward had to get me out of here, and I couldn’t do it myself. I only had so much self control.

“Hold your breath!” Edward ordered me, yelling over my cries of pain. So I did, I held my breath, but the smell was still in my head and on my tongue.

“I’m very sorry, Aro, but we need to leave immediately.” Edward yelled back to them. I still struggled against Edward’s arms.

“Fine, give my regards to Carlisle. It was a shame you couldn’t stay longer.” Aro said back, and then the smell of the humans was faint, and then finally gone.

We now were out of the city walls, a few miles away in a meadow.

I gasped from the pain that was still there, hugging my stomach. I now went limp in Edward’s arms.

“Thank you.” I whispered.

“You did well; you were stronger than me when I was new.” He said in my ear. He hugged me close.

“I love you.” I said, most of the pain was now gone.

“I will always love you.” He said back.

“Should we run back to the airport?” I asked him, now it was completely dark out.

He nodded, “Are you up for it, or do you need me to carry you?” he asked me.

“I think I can do it.” I said with a smile. So we both got up and ran for the airport, many miles away. In five minutes, we were at the doors.

“I’ll get our plane tickets, for New York and then Seattle.” He said to me. I nodded, still having my sunglasses on, at night. I was being looked at weird, but I could care less. They should be glad I wasn’t hurting humans.

Finally Edward had gotten our plane tickets, and we were on board the plane. It had taken many hours, and all that time Edward had his hand in mine. I knew that with Edward here with me, I could withstand the smell of the humans. It also helped that I held my breath the entire time we were within a 5-mile radius of any humans.

When we touched down to Seattle, almost a day later, Edward had gotten a phone call.

I could hear it too, and so I listened closely as we walked out of the airport.

“Edward, are you okay? Is Bella okay? I saw a vision of Bella, Edward, she wasn’t doing so well.” Alice voice asked him, she sounded scared.

“Bella is fine, she overcame it, and she is now next to me.” He assured her.

I heard her sigh in relief, “Okay, that makes me feel better. Edward when you two get home, we have to leave immediately. The dogs will be coming soon, and it’s not going to be good if they see Bella.” She told him.

“I see. We will be there momentarily.” He promised her, and then snapped the cell phone shut.
