I heard her sigh in relief, “okay, that makes me feel better. Edward when you two get home, we have to leave immediately. The dogs will be coming soon, and it’s not going to be good if they see Bella.” She told him.

“I see. We will be there momentarily.” He promised her, and then snapped the cell phone shut.

“Jake and the pack are coming.” I stated the obvious.

“That would be correct.” Edward said angrily as we broke into a run.

“What will they do?” I asked carefully, not wanting to set him off anymore. If he was this angry after we nearly escaped death, the pack must have done something bad, or will do something bad.

“What do you think a pack of werewolves would do when there is nothing stopping them from...” he didn’t bother to finish his sentence.

“They wouldn’t do that.” I gasped. There was only one thing the pack was making sure was gone, and that would be vampires. Their number one enemy. And since Edward had broken the treaty made with them by biting me, there was nothing stopping them from doing whatever they had done to Laurent two years ago.

“You never know once they phase.” He growled.

“Well, what did Alice see?” I asked him. “I’m not going to say, because what she had seen has now been changed. If we are right on time, which is what she sees, we should just miss them.” He said.

I nodded, “So we are leaving?” I asked him, I was rather slow. It was just the shock of being in the heart of Volterra and the information of the werewolf’s all in hours apart that really didn’t help my mess of a brain at the moment.

When he finally answered we were in his room, back home. I looked around and saw that most of it was cleared out.

“Bella, it was inevitable.” He whispered, knowing that I was sad. This town just had so many memories; even the worst were now so precious to me.

Edward now came over to me; he brushed a loose strand of hair away from my face, and tucked it behind my ear. I looked at his eyes, they were soft.

“Carlisle is passed a remarkable age that he for sure didn't look then and still doesn't now, all of us have finished high school, and this has to be the longest we have ever stayed in one place for. The only thing keeping us here was you, and now that you are coming with us, we have to go.” He explained gently.

I felt like if I was human, I would be silently letting out tears. It was nice to know I couldn’t do that now. I nodded, “I suppose you're right.” I mumbled.

“In a few decades, we can come back, if you like. Your memories will always be with you.” He whispered. It was true, but it wasn’t the same. I loved Forks, as much as it would have surprised me to say that the first time I stepped in its high school. Oh, how things have changed!

“You know what one of my most favorite memories is? Here in Forks?” I asked him. He was now smiling, “What is that?” he asked me.

His hand brushed my cheek, and I blushed while he did that, “My first day of Forks high school. It probably would have been my worst memory, but when I saw you-well, that made all the difference.” I admitted, blushing harder.

“That was a rather hard day for me…but still, it was one of my favorites as well.” He agreed.

Then, before I realized it, he leaned in and kissed me. His lips were soft and gentle against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer against me; my hands ran through his hair as he put his arms around my waist.

But then he pulled back, to my disappointment, “Bella, as enjoyable as that was, we have to get out of here soon.” He reminded me. I made a pouting face, smiled (to show that I was joking), and turned around to carry some of the boxes downstairs.

“So, how are we going to do this?” I asked him as we both stepped outside. All of the family’s cars were parked in a line, with most of the family just finishing loading them up.

“Well, we have to all go in our own, I suppose. Emmett will take his own, Rosalie will drive her own, Esme the same, Carlisle the same, Jasper is driving one of his cars, the other one that isn’t street legal will be pulled on a trailer by Emmett’s jeep, I will drive one of my cars, you will drive my other, and Alice will drive her own.” He said in one breath.

“Which car am I driving?” I asked him, eyeing his two parked outside near the front of the line.

He opened his mouth to say something, but I was already running towards his Vanquish. I was already in the driver’s seat with the key in hand, boxes in back, when he came over to me.

“I was going to say the Volvo, but if you’re really up for this one...” he made a ‘suite yourself’ face.

“Well, it’s my first time driving anything other than my truck as a vampire, so why not have some fun my first time driving fast?” I smiled.

“Ha...Um, yeah.” He looked nervous. Alice came by us with Emmett next to her. Emmett started laughing and Alice giggled.

“Alice, is my car going to be totaled by the time we get there?” he asked her.

“Nope, not a scratch.” She giggled, as Edward looked relived.

“By the way, where is ‘there’?” I asked him. I was confused on where I was supposed to be driving too.

“Denali.” He informed me. “Oh, okay.” I nodded.

“Just follow us, you won’t get lost.” He promised me. I nodded again, putting on my sunglasses.

He shook his head smiling, “What?” I asked him. What was he laughing at?

“Nothing, you just look…”

“Weird?” I guessed.

“No, good. Very good.” He said. I rolled my eyes as I rolled down the window.

“Don’t hurt yourself, and don’t hurt my car.” He said as he leaned in and gave me a kiss.

“Got it.” I said. He walked back to the Volvo behind me. I put the key in the ignition, starting the engine. “I could get used to this.” I joked looking around, Edward could hear me, and said “And I thought you didn’t like fast fancy cars.” he laughed.

“We need to leave!” Alice ordered from ahead of me.

Suddenly I smelt the worst stench of my life. It was worse than Charlie’s cooking.

“What is that?” I asked wrinkling my nose.

“The stench of werewolf.” Edward answered from his car, grimly.

Suddenly Carlisle and Alice’s cars ahead of me started to move, and I quickly put my foot on the gas petal gently, even then it went fast. I looked one more time at the white house, and then quickly looked away, before I got too sad, or ran into a tree.

As we moved the stench of the werewolves finally went away…and so did everything else I left behind.

************************************************************ “Yikes.” I squeaked as we were now somewhere in Alaska. I just accelerated by accident, almost losing control of the Vanquish on the icy road.

“Are you sure you won’t feel better in this car?” Edward had asked me, for the millionth time.

“Yeah, I’m sure. I just have to get used to it.” I assured him again.

Suddenly Alice’s yellow Porsche made a turning signal to the right, not even on an exit or a street. All the land was flat, from what I could tell. I looked deeper in the forest that we were driving through, and saw a house a little bigger than the old white house in Forks, but more modern.

“Where are we?” I asked Edward, hoping that he would hear me.

“Denali, at Tanya’s. We will be staying here for a few days as Esme finishes up some last minute things on our new house.” Edward answered.

So this was Tanya’s. Finally I got to see what all the fuss was about. As we pulled up to the house, in a line once again, Edward came over to me.

He was checking the car for something, “What are you doing?” I asked him as I stepped out of the car and threw him his keys. He snatched them out of the air quickly, “I guess Alice was right about the no scratches thing.” He mumbled.

“You don’t trust me?” I asked him.

“No, I trust you, Bella. It was that little dwarf over there that I wasn’t so sure about.” He elbowed Alice playfully.

“You don’t trust me?” she asked him, repeating my words.

When Edward was just about to make a retort, a vampire came out of the house.

“The Cullens! I haven’t seen you all in so long!” A woman with strawberry blond hair exclaimed. She was followed by four others.

“Tanya, it’s nice to see you again. We can’t thank you enough for this.” Carlisle said. So the strawberry blond was Tanya. Who were the others?

As if to answer my thoughts, Tanya had come over to me. “Hello, I don’t think we have met. I’m Tanya.” She out stretched a hand. I shook it.

“I’m Bella.” I said.

“Ah, so you’re Bella.” She smiled.

I looked up at Edward questionably, “We had told her about you of course.” He said.

I nodded, “This is Kate,” she turned around and gestured to the closest female, “Irina,” she gestured to another women close to the front door, “Carmen, and Eleazar.” She finished, pointing to the Spanish looking couple on the other side of her.

“It’s nice to meet you.” I said, being polite. I was very shy still, and blushed when they all looked at me. It was high school all over again.

“She can blush?” Carmen asked.

I nodded, “Apparently it’s a small power I can do.” I informed her, blushing even harder now.

“Interesting, we have a lot to catch up on. But for right now come in and make yourselves at home.” Tanya said. And we all followed her into the house. To my extreme embarrassment my stomach growled.

“If you’re thirsty Edward knows where the best animals are to hunt.” She added to me. I looked at Edward and nodded, my eyes were a dark shade of red when I caught a glimpse of myself in Alice’s sunglasses. They should be bright red. I was losing most of my control, as a newborn I was supposed to drink a lot, and I had only hunted once. I was very weak because of it (especially after that little ‘episode’ in Volterra). Edward could sense it.

“I’ll show her around by myself, but she hasn’t hunted in a while.” Edward said, excusing both of us. He took my hand and ran with me through the forest.
