“Better?” Edward asked as we were walking back hand in hand to Tanya’s house. I had just finished hunting, my stomach was content, and my eyes were a bright red.

“Much better.” I answered, leaning my head on his shoulder as we walked.

“I love you,” He said to me, kissing the top of my head, “and I can’t thank you enough for what you have done, and given up, because of me.” He added.

I looked up at him, “Edward, of course I would do anything for you, you do realize that, don’t you? And the reason that I have is that I can’t live without you, because I love you too-so much words could not even describe it.” I smiled up at him, blushing.

As I opened my mouth to say something else, a joke, he cut me off by walking to a halt in front of me and kissed me on the lips. They were crushing against mine gently, and they no longer felt cold-they felt like mine did, but I never noticed the coldness of my own until now. As I moved my arms around his neck, he pulled me tighter against him, and I felt as though I never wanted to leave his arms. But I did eventually, with a gasp. “What was that for?” I whispered.

He rolled his eyes, still smiling, and panting like me, “Do we have to go through that every time I kiss you?” he chuckled.

“No, I guess not. But what about if I kiss you?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I don’t know.” He joked. “Well, we will never know unless we try…” and then I kissed him again, this one not lasting as long as the other kiss had.

“Okay, I suppose we don’t have to go through the whole ‘I love you thing’. But it’s still nice to hear.” I blushed, panting to catch my breath, even if I didn’t have to breathe.

“It’s definitely nice to hear. And I am prepared to shout it to the heavens forever if that is what it takes you to believe me.” He told me solemnly as he took my hand and intertwined it with his. We continued to walk to the front door of Tanya’s house, my cheeks still a light shade of pink. I seemed to blush longer after I have hunted, probably from the extra blood I have taken in.

“Oh, good, you’re here!” Alice greeted us from the next room as we entered the house.

Edward steered me to what looked to be the living room. Mostly everyone was in here, either talking or silently watching the TV.

“Edward, dear, go show Bella around!” Esme scolded, for I was the only one who had never been here before.

“Sorry, Esme.” He muttered. I smiled.

“Come on.” He said, pulling me the other way. “It’s quite simple, really.” He assured me.

“Would you like the fast tour of the house?” he asked me, smiling.

I nodded. “Fast is good.”

“I'm glad to see your perspective on the relative speed of things has changed...” he said laughing.

“Yes, but that was before. Now, fast is a rush, exhilarating. Fast is definitely good.” I assured him, laughing with him.

“So, basically, that’s the dining room which they never use,” he gestured to one room next to us, “the downstairs’ bathroom which they never use, the kitchen which-”

“They never use, I’m catching on.” I cut him off, joking.

“You saw the living room already,” he walked past the room that everyone was in, “Eleazar’s office,” he gestured to a closed door, “and the stairs.” He chuckled as I rolled my eyes. We went up them. The house was more modern than what the Cullen’s liked. But it still had that edge to it, incorporating some Victorian things as well.

Upstairs, there was a long hallway on either side of us, and Edward started with the closest door to us, turning to the right.

“Kate’s room, Tanya’s room, and Irina’s room.” He gestured to 3 doors in front of us.

Then we turned to the left. This side of the hallway had 7 doors on it, unlike the three behind us.

“Carmen and Eleazar’s room,” he gestured to another door, “and then the rest is guest bedrooms, but mostly we use them. The last one though is a bathroom. And that is basically it.” He finished with a sigh. He seemed a little more…sillier than he usually was, as weird as that sounds. He looked...happy, and I giggled, for he had a giddy skip in his walk.

“Why are you so happy?” I laughed.

He turned to me, “Well, what’s the reason not to be?” he asked me. I rolled my eyes, and his smiled turned into an even wider smile, “Bella, dear, er...You’re not yourself.” He said.

“I’m myself, what are you talking about? I haven’t changed, have I?” I asked.

“No, it’s not in your personality, its well…” He steered me to a mirror hanging on the hallway wall.

“Yaahhh!” I shuddered, making a face. I was Edward again, I was thinking about him too hard. Edward raised an eyebrow, as if to ask why it was so bad to be him.

“It’s just a little weird is all, turning into people…and a little embarrassing too.” I muttered.

“Well, as long as it’s just me that you turn into the most often, I am okay.” He joked. “You will be able to control it soon.” He assured me. I switched topics as I turned back to myself in the mirror; I gave one last shudder and turned away from it.

“So which room is ours for the time being, so I know where I can put my stuff?” I asked him. He pointed to the door closest to us, and we both walked in. It looked as though Alice had already brought up my duffle bag and Edward’s, because there was a note that said: 'You can thank me later, love Alice.' "What does she want us to thank her for?" I asked Edward holding up the note.

“You’ll find out eventually.” He said.

“Uh, oh. There is a surprise, isn’t there? Edward you know I don’t do well with surprises.” I complained.

“You’ll do perfect with this surprise, trust me.” He assured me; I made a frustrated sound and looked around me. As I did I noticed it had a couch in it, as well as a coffee table and a big TV. It also had a bathroom, complete with a shower. A shower….that sounded really good right now, I didn’t take one since leaving for Volterra.

I eyed the shower hopefully, glancing at him. “Go ahead.” He urged me.

I smiled. “Thanks.” He went out of the room to give me some privacy as I grabbed some clean clothes out of my duffle bag, and went into the bathroom.

Talking a shower felt good, even if I didn’t need one. Now that I was a vampire, there wasn’t any sweat or anything like there would be if I were a human, but my hair did not look as good as I wanted it to. After I was done with the shower, I quickly blow dried it straight.

When I was done with my hair, I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked so different from when I was human, but then again I looked the same. I shook my head; this was way too confusing for me right now.

“All done?” Edward asked me, interrupting my thoughts, as I stepped out of the bathroom. I sat next to him on the couch.

“Yeah, I’m done. I feel so much better.” I sighed as I stole the remote from him, and turned it to another channel.

“Hey!” he accused.

“Your married now, Edward. You have to share things.” I joked, laughing as he did too.

I curled up against him, as I found a movie which I wanted to see lately. “Pride and Prejudice…and you changed it from watching car motors to this?” he asked me, joking.

“Precisely.” I nodded, smiling.. I sighed happily and leaned farther in to Edward, inhaling his scent that was so much more appealing now with my enhanced senses.

“Bella, come here!” Alice called from the room next to us; she and Jasper were sharing it.

“Alice, what is it?” I asked her, still curled up against Edward, as the movie was ending.

“She wants you to use your power for her own selfish purposes.” Edward snickered.

“I am not! Just come here Bella, don’t make this hard!” Alice warned from the other room. I raised my eyebrow at Edward, now sitting up. He shrugged.

“I’ll be right back.” I sighed to him as I walked out of the room and into theirs. Alice had three different outfits on the couch.

“Oh no…no no no.” I said as I started walking backwards out of the room. But before I could Alice had grabbed me by the hand and was towing me to the couch. I tried to resist, and I probably could have gotten out of her grip-I was too scared to hurt her though.

“Please Bella!!” she begged me, pushing one of the outfits to me. “You owe me remember?” she asked me, smirking like there was some inside joke I wasn't in on.

“Owe you??” I asked her.

“Well, you will owe me later tonight, anyways.”

“You do realize I have no clue what you’re talking about, right?” I asked her.

“Yes, but you will soon enough.” I hated the words ‘soon enough’; they always came with a surprise.

“Let’s just get this over with already.” I groaned, heading towards the bathroom.

“Remember to think of me!” she reminded me.

“Whatever.” I shook my head.

I quickly got changed in Alice’s clothes and then thought of her. It now was getting a little easier, and I didn’t have to think of multiple traits of the person I was turning into, only one. I thought of Alice’s black spiky hair.

Once I was her I walked out of the bathroom, “Happy?” I asked.

“Turn around.” She directed, as I rolled my eyes. I turned around, as she was looking at me.

“Can I try an experiment with you?” she asked me randomly.

“It depends on what the experiment is.” I said, eyeing her.

“It has to do with your power.” She assured me, I nodded slowly.

“Can you try mimicking my voice too? Vampires can do that when they have known someone for a while. Edward did it when he imitated Carlisle and-” she quickly snapped her mouth shut, forgetting how horrible that time was when Edward left…and flashbacks of that time quickly came and then went.

“Sorry.” She mumbled.

“It’s alright, Alice. It’s in the past.” I assured her.

“So…Could you try it?” she asked me.

“Do I just think about your voice?” I asked her, and she quickly nodded.

I let out a gust of air, and bit my lip. I could at least try it; I really doubted it would work though.

“Um…is it working?” I asked, and immediately my eyes got big, and I clamped my hand over my mouth. It had sounded exactly like Alice’s voice.

“This is so cool!” she exclaimed.

“Wow, I didn’t think it would work! Do you think my power is growing stronger? Because when I changed into people before I had to think of multiple traits of them, and I don’t anymore.” I said in her voice still.

“Perhaps…that’s rather interesting. We should go talk to Carlisle later. But for right now, go try on the other two outfits.” She said, and I reluctantly went back and got another outfit.

“Ridiculous.” I muttered. What has become of me? I have turned into a 3D mirror, just like I had predicted.

After I was all done with Alice, I decided to read a little, just so I could get my mind off of that stupid surprise Alice was planning.

I heard two knocks on the door, “You can come in Tanya.” I called towards the door. It made me feel better when I actually knew who it was at the door, instead of anticipatingly waiting to see the face on the other side. It had bothered me ever since the Volturi.

“Hi Alice, where’s Bella?” she asked me.

I looked at her funny. “It is Bella.” I told her, confused.

“Very funny, Little One. Seriously though, where is she?” Tanya asked me again.

“I always hated that stupid nickname...Little One…” Alice said from the hallway.

Tanya spun around to face Alice, “How in the…” she trailed off, looking at me and back at Alice. I got up, putting my book mark in place, and setting my book on the couch. I walked towards Tanya in concern.

“Are you sure you’re ok?” I asked her.

Alice started giggling, “Bella, have you been thinking about my surprise lately?” she asked.

“Well, now that you mention it yes, I have.” I nodded, and then suddenly it clicked.

“Oh! I’m so sorry Tanya! I must have been thinking too hard about Alice.” I quickly apologized, blushing, and then turned back into myself. I was Alice all along, and Tanya didn’t know about my power.

“Bella has the power to change into people!” Alice explained, smiling.

“Alice??” Jasper called.

Alice smiled apologetically, and headed towards Jasper downstairs, leaving Tanya and I in awkward silence. Very subtle, Alice...I thought.

“Wow that is a very useful power…” she muttered to herself. “Anyways, I just wanted to come up and talk, seeing as we are going to be spending a lot of time together, well hopefully. I have a good feeling we will be friends.” She explained smiling.

“Okay, sure.” I smiled, going back over to the couch as she did the same. We both sat down next to each other.

“How long have you lived in Denali, Tanya?” I asked her.

“A while, I didn’t exactly keep track. Forty years, maybe. We live so far away from the city; no one comes up in this area-too many bears.” She laughed.

“I really like this house.” I said looking at her.

“It does have a nice charm, doesn’t it? Kate is more the decorator of the house.” she explained. I nodded.

“So how long have you been a vampire?” Tanya asked.

“About a week now.” I answered.

“That’s not a lot of time, is it? So what have you been doing for the past week?” she asked me.

I grimaced, “I was in Volterra with Edward for a couple days, and the rest I was in Forks.”

Tanya’s eyes got big. “Volturi?” she guessed.

I nodded. “They have kept tabs on the family ever since…three years ago.” I cut out the gory details. It was easy to talk with Tanya.

“I never like them…especially those bratty twins, Jane and Alec. Tempers, those two, they have problems with.” She shook her head. I nodded. Okay, it was REALLY easy to talk with Tanya.

“Tell me about your family.” I asked her.

She smiled. “Easy enough.” She nodded.

“There isn’t much to tell really, I was born way before Carlisle-but like him, we didn’t keep time as accurately as now. So I couldn’t tell you the year. After becoming a vampire, I was in Slovakia at the time,” she looked thoughtful, “I met Irina and Kate, and we looked alike, and interests were the same as well. We were like sisters, and so we went with that-we call ourselves sisters because we been together for so long. After meeting Carlisle, and learning about his way of life, we became ‘vegetarians’ because we were all open to the idea….By that time, we lived in America. Carmen and Eleazar had known Jasper, as a matter of fact, probably when Jasper was new. Carmen and Eleazar were married, and decided to go up north, away from the south-back at that time it wasn’t good for ‘vegetarian’ vampires to be down there- and then they soon found us. We have been a family ever since. They were quite thrilled to find Jasper when all of us first met many years back.” She explained.

We talked for a little bit more, and she got to know a lot about me too. She was nice to me, even though I had my doubts. She seemed like she had liked Edward in the past, and somehow it bugged me a little, but I hid it as best as I could.

“Its so good Edward has found someone like you, he is so much happier now. It’s a little funny.” She laughed.

“I’ve noticed too, and that’s what everyone keeps on saying. It made both of us happier.” I laughed along with her.

“Come on, I think I have borrowed you for too long.” She said, gesturing us to go downstairs.

“It's nightfall already?” I asked myself. It surprised me.

“Time flies by, doesn’t it?” she asked as we walked down the stairs.

“Okay, Surprise time!” Alice squealed, getting out of Jaspers arms and running to small table with paper work on it.

“I think I will just go take a run.” I turned around heading for the door, when an iron grip stopped me.

“Emmett, come on!” I complained as he dragged me back. I tried to resist, and slipped out of his grip many times before just giving up.

“You better watch out, she’s pretty strong.” He warned Alice. I smiled to myself, smug.

Tanya and the rest of her family watched with smiles, “No fair! They're in on it too?” I asked.

“That’s right.” Kate laughed.

“Edward go stand next to Bella.” Alice ordered as Emmett sat down next to Rosalie. Now Edward had his arm around me as we faced the rest of the family and Alice.

“So,” Alice started off, “I have a couple things to get through first.” I nodded slowly as Edward smiled.

“What with werewolves, hunting, the Volturi, and road trips you haven’t had any time to just relax and be a normal married couple-although we all know ‘normal’ isn’t the best word to use.” Alice laughed as others in the room did as well.

“One thing I didn’t have time to get to with the both of you was this,” Alice handed Edward legal papers. “Just sign your names.” She said.

“Their marriage documents so we are legally married.” Edward explained flipping through them.

“I knew how much you wanted to do that, Bella.” Alice explained. I felt like I was going to cry with happiness as Edward signed his name in a line and gave me the pen. I signed my name; my new name- it read ‘Isabella Cullen’.

Edward kissed me on the forehead as I handed the papers back to Alice, “Thank you.” I whispered, too choked up with the sudden emotion to speak aloud.

“Now here’s the biggest surprise.”Alice handed us more papers. I looked at Edward puzzled.

“Plane tickets.” He chuckled.

“You never got to go on a honeymoon, so now you can. You two have just won an all expense paid vacation to your own private, remote island in Hawaii!” Alice announced like we just won something on jeopardy.

“Oh my God!” I exclaimed. “Alice you didn’t need to do this!” I said rushing over and hugging her.

“It’s no problem.” She laughed, “And it wasn’t just me, it’s from the whole family.” She added.

“Thank you all so much!” Edward and I said together.

“We are now officially kicking you out of the house. Go get your bags, the plane leaves in an hour.” Tanya informed us. I laughed, as Edward and I ran upstairs to get our stuff.

“Edward, isn’t there a slight problem?” I asked him as the plane had landed, and we were walking through the airport.

“The sun, you mean?” he asked me.

I nodded. “Yeah, isn’t it going to be kind of awkward when we are both shimmering in front of everyone?”

“We just have to stay in the shadows until we can drive, and then from there we are okay.” He explained as we picked up our bags.

“I still don’t understand.” I shook my head.

“We sort of…bought an island. So no one can see us in the sun.” he confessed.

“We…You own an island?” I asked.

He nodded, “I knew you wouldn’t like it but you will soon enough.” He assured me.

“Well, you were right about not liking it, Edward-I hate you spending money on me unless there is a very good reason!” I complained as we walked side by side in the airport.

“This is an exception. I love you, Bella, that should be reason enough.” He said leaning over and kissing me on the forehead.

“You better be right about me liking it-whatever it is- later.” I grumbled.

“I’m right, trust me.” He chuckled.

“So how are we getting out of the airport, when everything surrounding us is sun?” I asked, talking so fast that human ears couldn’t hear me.

“Alice rented a car for us, we can drive to the island, there is a bridge to get there.” He explained.

I started to nod, and then froze.“What kind of car?” I asked. Edward smirked.

There in front of Edward and I was a flashy red Porsche, with dark tinted windows. “You have got to be kidding me.” I muttered.

“Fast was good, remember?” he reminded me.

I pouted, and climbed in the car as Edward did, “I still have some human memories too, Edward. I didn’t like flashy cars-fast or not.” I said.

“You’re going to like this one.” he assured me, as we threw our bags behind us. He stepped on the gas, speeding through the airport's traffic, so that the palm trees were flying by.

Somehow I couldn’t help but feel good by going fast, and Edward noticed. “Don’t even say ‘I told you so’ or I am going back to Denali.” I warned, as he laughed.

“I’ve actually never even been to Hawaii-I like it.” I said looking around as much as possible, because we were speeding by everything.

“This is one of the only times I can say I have never been here either.” I laughed-“Finally! Revenge!” I joked.

“Is this the bridge?” I asked him, seeing a bridge a few miles up.

“That’s it.” He nodded.

“How do you know so much about a place you have never been to?” I asked him.

“Alice was here while we were in Volterra-I saw everything through her mind.” He explained.

“That little sneak-I don’t know how she does it.” I laughed.

A few more minutes passed, and in that time we had made it across the bridge and to the island, stopping in front of a house the size of the Cullen’s house in Forks. It wasn’t Victorian; it had that resort type of feel where you just wanted to laze around all day and sip tropical drinks.

“Wow,” I breathed, “and we get this all to ourselves?” I asked him.

Edward was on my side of the door, opening it and carrying me in his arms to the front door of the house, “All to ourselves.” He nodded. I laughed as he carried me over the threshold and into the house.

“So this would be our real honeymoon, right?” I asked him.

“Exactly.” He nodded, as I blushed crimson. “Then can I see the upstairs? If you don’t mind, or course...” I trailed off suggestively, still in his arms.

“I don’t mind at all.” He smiled, carrying me up.

“You know what’s funny?” I asked him as we sat by the ocean together. We had been on the island for three days now.

“What’s that?” he asked me, kissing my neck as he held me in his arms. We were both still wet from swimming, and I still had on a ridiculous bikini that Alice must have snuck in my bag.

“I always pictured you and I someplace remote, on a beach. Just talking to each other-I thought about it 4 years ago to get pain out of my head. And now, it actually is real.” I confessed, blushing.

“I’m glad it’s real, aren’t you?” he asked me, turning me around so that I could see his face.

“More then you’ll ever know.” I smiled, still blushing.

“I love you-that’s an understatement though.” He said to me.

“I love you too.” I laughed, looking into the setting sun. After everything we had been through, it was amazing to know that I was married to Edward, and I was a vampire. Every vision that Alice had had of me becoming a vampire and of us getting married did come true after all.

When I was small, I had always dreamed of something like this-some relationship that turned out better then Renée and Charlie’s.

Even though I miss them and everyone else that I left behind, and they had no clue that the wedding was goodbye forever, it was worth it somehow. It was worth it, totally and completely for the being that was holding my hand, sitting next to me. I knew that I hadn’t left home behind-home was in Edward’s arms. I didn’t need anything more other than this moment to last me eternity.

“Everything is going to be fine.” He whispered in my ear.
