Her Ring

I was halfway down the hall before I called, "Now, you can finally stop your obsession with your cashmere sweaters!"

And the same couch that had been thrown at me seventy years ago, was thrown at me again, and I heard Rosalie laugh, "Leave it to you to ruin the moment."

I I entered the room, grabbing her hand and kissing it.

"It wasn't ruining the moment, it was lightening the mood."

"And that's why I love you. Because no one but you would have proposed when the woman was brushing her hair and not even listening."

I shrugged, and smiled impishly at her.

She smiled back, and picked up the brush to brush her hair.

She looked like she was concentrating hard. Can women rally do that when they brush their hair? Only one way to find out . . .

"Rose, I'm in love with Edward."

"What, Emmett?"

"Nothing."

"Okay . . ."

Huh. So that's how it was.

Maybe I could try that on Bella when Edward was hunting . . .

"DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT EMMETT!"

I would have thought the same thing happened to Edward when sorting cashmere sweaters. Guess not.

Then something hit my head with intense speed and flopped to the ground.

I picked up a cashmere sweater.
