A Familiar Matter

Well, It's basically what I would like to happen in Breaking Dawn. In it, we meet a new character; Leslie Harpur, the daughter of Renee's mysterious and tragically demised twin sister, Estelle. She comes to Forks with Bella's mother to attend the wedding. Interesting things occur in the time following...

This is for my best friends and fellow Twilight obsessees, Helen, Lexhen and Hilary. I'm inspired! P.S. I wish I'd thought up Bella and Edward and everyone else. but I didn't :-(

“Bella, your future sister in law is a vampire!” I gasped, running through the possibilities.

Was the entire Cullen family Vampires? Was Edward one? Wait – was Bella a vampire?

I looked her up and down. She was pale, but then she’d always been pale. Her eyes were still chocolate-y brown, and she blushed under my gaze, so from that I figured she was still human.

“Jelly Belly, are you marrying a VAMPIRE?!?” I asked, using her childhood nick-name in a mock stern voice.

Bella gaped at me, and I grabbed hold of her and Alice, and dragged them inside, shutting the door behind me.

“Bella, is Edward a Vampire?” I repeated in the same tone. Alice smiled at me, and I noted her eyes were the topaz of an animal drinker. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, for now.

“Leslie… How do you know about Vampires?” Bella asked, eyes wide and innocent.

“She’s staying with them…” muttered Alice, sniffing the air. “Animal drinkers?” She asked, looking at me warily.

“Of course.” I shrugged “Harvey used to be a human drinker, but when he met Helena, she convinced him to change his diet. He’d do anything for her.”

“Sounds like my Jasper.” She grinned. “Where are the coven?”

“Hunting. They’ll be back in about an hour, if you’d like to meet them?”

“I think that would be wise – they might worry if they return and there is a strange Vampire’s scent in the house, but no Leslie.” She smiled, and I decided I could even get to like her. I nodded in agreement, and led them through to the sitting room.

I got Bella a glass of milk and one of Veronique’s home-made biscuits. Bella just gaped at me. I waved a hand in front of her face.

“Hello, Earth to Bella! You know, you never answered my question Jelly Belly, are you marrying a Vampire?”

“My brother Edward is a vampire, yes. Is that a problem?” Asked Alice, watching Bella warily.

“No, it’s just… Wow, he must be really well restrained if he’s going to marry her… it’s hard enough for the coven with me around, and I'm only gonna be here for a few days… I presume Edward is going to change Bella?” I hugged my cousin. “As long as you’re happy Jelly Belly, that’s the main thing.” Bella hugged me back, and she began to sob quietly.

“You don’t know the half of it.” Chuckled Alice quietly. “Bella is Edward’s singer.”

“La tua cantante? However does he cope?” I gasped.

“He loves her” shrugged Alice “It’s that simple. The coven you live with – what relation are they to you?”

“Veronique and Bonamy were my mother’s godparents. They sort-of adopted her when grandma Marie died, though they never told her that they were Vampires. I'm the only one that knows their secret.”

“And how did you find out?” Asked Alice, her brow furrowed. I pulled back my sleeve to reveal the silvery scar on my forearm. They both gasped.

“Harvey got thirsty.”
