I got up and started walking back towards the large crystal doors, preparing to leave when the impossible happened.

Edward started walking towards me with a look of disproval on his face.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked cruelly. Edward never talked like that.

"I'm going for a walk."

"Do you mind if I join you?"

We walked through the giant doors and into the main entrance. I had not notice that there were two wings branching off from the entrance earlier. I turned right, but for some reason Edward wanted to go left. So, I followed him down the left wing.

We talked about average things. He seemed ecstatic that he was finally getting to see me again and I had to remind him that I had only been away for three weeks. Three weeks seemed way too long to him, and there was something about the way he talked, impatient maybe?

We were about half way down the hall when Edward snickered. I looked at him confused before I noticed that he wasn't Edward anymore. It was Jeremy.

"Surprise." He said mockingly.

I glared for about a fraction of a second before I felt his hand wrap around my throat and felt my head collide with the stone wall that had been to my left.

"What? I don't even get a hello? I traveled all the way here to get you alone by stealing your family's forms and then orbing here, and this is how I'm repaid?" His arm thrust me harder into the wall.

My breath caught in my throat as I tried frantically to breathe.

He sneered, "Any last words?"

"Yes," I rasped, "Just one though, why?"

"Why what?" He looked confused.

"Why me? Why are you doing this to me?"

"It's my way of trying to get Nymth back, to the way it should always be. Not every creature is supposed to get along like this; none of them are supposed to get along. It's the natural order of things. And the reason you're involved is because you're who the light picked. No one knows the reasons behind it, or who the light picks until the destined Queen's sixteenth birthday."

"Oh." I rasped, his grip loosened slightly, "What if I decline the offer? What would you do then?"

"I'd have to let you go, and then all of us would have to wait until the next Queen is chosen. Are you quitting?"

"I don't know...yet. It's debatable, how much time do I have left?"

"You probably have about one week until you'll no longer be useful to the light if you don't accept."

"Ok... can you let me go and I promise to think about it and let you know my decision?"

Just as I finished, Lucas and a few other guests from the party ran frantically around the corner. Just great, now something else is going to go wrong and I'll probably end up dead.

If you act scared, and make it believable, I promise to let you go unharmed. Jeremy thought.

Deal, did Lucas hear that?

No, I blocked him from both of us for the next thirty seconds, twenty-nine, twenty-eight...

Good thinking. I owe you one if you ever need me to do anything that doesn't involve death, injury, or fights.

I'll be sure to remember that...three, two, one!

Liz! Liz are you okay? I can't hear you! Lucas's thoughts invaded my head. I turned to face him, a terrified look on my face. Ironically it was the same face I used on Edward that day he, Alice, Jasper and I played tag, the day we met Ryan and Chad, the day Alec found out that I'd probably never see him again. The day my life got a little bit worse.

Help. My mind whispered.

Lucas's face suddenly became contorted with rage and, from his hands, erupted a giant, glowing, blue-white, ball of powerful magic. Jeremy stood there; hand still tightly around my neck, and staring cunningly at Lucas.

"I'm sorry that you are oblivious to the fact that I currently have the upper hand now. If you even try to hit me, she will die. If you want your precious queen back, then I assure you that doing anything along the lines that you are currently following would guarantee her demise."

Don't do it! Don't do it! Don't do it! Don't do it! Don't do it! Don't do it Lucas! My mind whispered repeatedly.

Lucas dropped his hands, looking defeated.

"Now, now, you made the right choice. If you would have thrown that at me, then she would be dead. Congrats! You've made her life last all of ten minutes longer!"

I heard a growl from behind Lucas and saw Alec as his steel-grey wolf, crouched and ready to pounce.

No, why did Alec have to get involved? Anyway, I'm tired of having to be saved... why can't I defend myself from them? Oh yeah, because I'm the half vampire freak and they're all better than me. Great.

I was getting angrier by the seconds. I didn't want to be saved, and I didn't want to be here anymore. I wish they'd all go away. My hands were now balled into fists, not that I could really do anything about the current situation. Or could I?

My face twitched; an automatic reflex to lunar eclipses. I took a deep breath and pictured myself outside of the castle.

First, my hands and feet started to dematerialize. Both Lucas and Jeremy were now staring at me in shock.

"What are you doing?" Lucas screamed at Jeremy.

I saw him turn, a confused and surprised expression on his face.

"I'm not doing anything!" He cried back.

I continued to dematerialize until I was standing outside of castle.
