Alice’s POV

“I love you Edward, I’ll always love you.” She opened the door and stepped out. As soon as she did the wind was on her back. Everyone on the beach snapped their heads up to look at her. Her breath caught in her throat and her face turned white, almost translucent.

“No!” I screamed. This can’t happen. It can’t. Not to my sister, my best friend. I fell to the floor as I started sobbing. I can’t believe she would do this to me, especially to save those dogs.

“Alice are you okay? What happened?” I recognized Esme’s sweet musical voice

“Alice!” Jasper was immediately at my side. “What happened?” He asked me, and then turned to Esme when I didn’t answer.

“I don’t know. I heard her scream and came running in her to find her like this. She didn’t say what was wrong.” Her voice sounded strange, like she was forcing it to come out evenly. I realized a second later that she was sobbing along with me.

“Bella” I was finally able to compose myself long enough to choke out a few words between sobs. “She…she’s….dead.” I heard Esme and Jasper stop breathing. They each wrapped their arms around me, and we all cried together.

Jacob’s POV

I heard a door slam shut, as the wind carried a fresh scent over to the beach. It was human. It was Bella. The vampire I was fighting stopped what it was doing and looked over to Bella. I took advantage of the vampire’s distraction and ripped its head off. I then continued to dismember the body. As I finished I noticed that the rest of the pack had arrived and all the vampires lay in pieces on the beach. Everyone had started to bring them to the fire Sam was starting. I looked over to check on Bella and found that she was cringing against the side of her truck. A vampire with wild red hair was standing over her with a smug look on her face. As quickly and quietly as I could I snuck over to them. I came up behind the vampire and ripped her head off as she reached toward Bella. I continued to tear the vampire apart as Bella collapsed to the floor. Quil came over and took the pieces of the vampire over to the fire.

“Bella?” She was sitting on the ground, her face hidden in her knees. She looked up at the sound of her name with tears streaming down her face. “What’s wrong? Did she hurt you?”

“No, I’m just….I’m so relieved.” She said as she wiped the tears off. “I thought she was going to get me. I…” She started shaking as more tears started pouring down her face.

“It’s alright, she’s gone. She won’t bother you again.” I sat down next to her and put my arm around her shoulders. We sat there until she was able to stop crying, then I picked her up and put her into the passenger seat in her truck. Ten minutes later I pulled up into the driveway and parked the car. “Are you going to be alright?”

“Yea, I’m fine now.” She said with a sigh.

“Ok, goodnight.” I said as I climbed out of her truck and headed into the woods.
