Mandy did something that is looked down upon by most vampires. Something that made her coven kick her out. She runs into Edward Cullen in the forest near Forks. She meets the rest of the Cullens and Jasper agrees to teach her how to hunt animals instead of humans. But Mandy is keeping secrets. Those secrets will have to be revealed for the sake of the werewolves. She must figure out a way with the help of the Cullens, to save the werewolves with out fighting. If she doesn't they may give up hope and go to fight a battle they can not win.
I do not own any of these characters or places besides Mandy, Kaylan, Mitch, and Amy. The rest belongs to Stephenie Meyer!

Chapter 6: An Unexpected Romance
“Are you sure you want to come?” I asked again.
“Sheesh Mandy do you want me to stay behind? I said I was coming about one hundred times already. Relax. Besides, I like the Cullens. Edward’s cool,” Seth replied.
Edward was cool? Did this kid seriously just call Edward cool? I snorted. Edward was nice, awesome, and an amazingly gifted piano player but cool? Edward wouldn’t be ‘cool’ frozen solid in a freezer on Antarctica.
“Fine then, let’s go,” I said.
Seth was coming with me to provide the pack with an idea of what Emma was like. I was hoping Jacob would come but Seth was first to volunteer. That was just Seth I guess. He was always ready to help out.
“How old is Emma? Is she pretty?” Seth was practically bouncing up and down. Did he ever stop talking?
“She’s about 120 years old but she was changed when she was 17 and yes, she is pretty,” I said.
“I know there are a couple of old looking vampires and a couple of younger looking ones but why are most teenagers or younger adults in their 20’s or 30’s when they’re changed?” Seth asked.
“It’s because most old people and children don’t usually live through a vampire attack let alone the vampire transformation.” I explained.
Seth opened his mouth. He was probably going to ask another question but I spoke before he could get the words out with a ‘we’re here’. Quite suddenly we were up the steps, through the door, and in the Cullen’s living room.
Emma sat on the couch chatting with Jasper about the violent newborn vampire army epidemic in Texas and Mexico that Jasper had once been a part of before he knew a different life style was possible. They both looked up at the same time as Seth and I sped into the room. Emma’s kind face was serious behind her sunglasses before she caught sight of us and smiled dazzlingly. It was like the sun bursting out from behind the thick grey clouds after a long winter storm. Her smile held no sadness as it had all of the other times I’d seen it.
“Hello Mandy it’s good to see you again. This must be your werewolf soul mate, Jacob. Am I right?” she trilled in her fluty voice.
“No this is his pack brother, Seth.” I told her.
“Is he ok?” she sounded alarmed, her smile fading.
I turned and saw Seth staring at Emma’s breathtaking beauty with a familiar expression. I’d seen it on Sam’s face when he kissed Emily’s scarred cheek. I’d watched this look appear on Jared’s features when he looked down at Kim’s sleeping form and stroked her soft black hair. It was a look Quil got when he laid eyes on Clair and it was the same expression I first saw on Jacob’s face. It was like this was the first time he was really seeing. Seth had found his center of the universe, his reason for existing. Seth had imprinted.
This was totally unexpected. Happy, curious, bright, pure, kind little Seth had imprinted. For some reason this event seemed to make the fifteen year old werewolf seem a little more grown up. I realized Emma really needed someone like Seth. She was kind and gentle like he was but she was always so sad and broken. She’d seen a lot of terrible things and felt so much pain. Joyful, cheerful, optimistic Seth could brighten her gloom.
“Emma,” Seth breathed with a quiet reverence.
“Emma Caper, meet your soul mate, Seth Clearwater.” I announced proudly.
It was hard to see with the sunglasses but I could tell her eyes had grown wide.
“Impossible,” she whispered so quietly that normal human ears wouldn’t have detected the word. “I don’t deserve this. After what I did I don’t deserve love. I should be lonely and miserable for the rest of eternity.”
We all stared at her in shock. She sprung to her feet. Seth reached out toward her.
“Don’t say that Emma,” he said in a pained voice.
I’d never heard Seth sound like that. Sadness wasn’t something I’d never associated with happy Seth. It was strange. I didn’t like it. My protective older sister mode had kicked in and I put my cold hand on his warm shoulder.
“You deserve someone whole and happy. You seem like a fun happy guy and you should be with a fun happy girl. I won’t break your hear too.” She murmured sadly.
Then she was gone in a flash.
“You already have.” Seth whimpered after her.
Then he started to quiver. I pulled my hand back. This day just kept getting more shocking. Seth had never lost control except for that very first time. That was probably because Seth never got angry, but now he seemed to be losing it. He threw back his head and a long broken howl ripped from his throat. He ran for the door vibrating like crazy and leapt over the stairs. When he touched the ground again it was with paws.
I suppose a huge change like imprinting must mess with your emotions at first. I hope this didn’t last long because even though it hadn’t even began a full minute since I last saw it and I already missed Seth’s smile. I got up to go after Emma and convince her that the only way she would break Seth’s heart was by staying away because he would never get over her even though he’s just seen her for like two minutes and didn’t even know her. He loved her anyways.
