So Jake and I ended up on the beach, talking about stuff in the book Bella and he talked about. Quils imprinting, motorcycles, my (Bella’s) change…

And that is why I’m pulling into the Cullen’s driveway, on Bella’s motorcycle, totally soaked (thanks to the rain), and really bummed out.

I should have never told Jake. I tried to explain it differently then Bella had in the book, but he still overacted. I guess I should have expected that…

I walked the bike into the garage, and of course, saw Alice waiting for me, perched lightly on the hood of her precious Porsche. Alice stroked the glossy yellow paint.

“I haven’t even had a chance to drive it.” She sighed.

“S-s-sorry.” I stuttered, barely audible through my shivers.

“You look like you could use a nice hot shower,” She told me, off hand, as she sprang lightly to her feet.

She pursed her lips, taking in my expression carefully. “Do you want to talk about it?”

“Well, you obviously don’t want to go to Olympia, so goodnight.” She said, sadly.

“Goodnight, Alice.”

It was still dark when I woke up. I stretched, rolling over, and felt something hard and cold.

“Sorry,” Edward murmured softly. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

Don’t ruin the Bella and Edward relationship, I chanted over and over in my head.

There was no friction in the space between us. This was harder then I thought. Edward was dazzling even in the dark!

Light bulb moment!

I started to frown, glaring at Edward, knowing perfectly well he could see my face. I slowly sat upright.

“Edward Anthony Mason Cullen,” I said, slowly emphasizing each word. “I cannot believe you rewarded Alice with a car for torturing me! Do you have any idea what I’ve been through?!”

“I’m sorry, love,” Edward said. ‘I should have thought this ‘sleepover’ through.”

He didn’t even argue or yell. “Aren’t you mad that I saw Jacob?”

“Of course not, Bella,” Edward told me. “Why would I ever be angry with something that makes you happy?”

“He said he rather see me dead.” My voice broke on the last word. So much for light bulb moment.

He crushed me gently to his chest. “I’m so sorry.”

“I don’t know what went wrong.” I whispered. “I felt so weird around Jacob, and he was acting so strange.”

“You told him about your change, didn’t you?”

“Yes,” I said, as a tear rolled down my cheek. Edward gently wiped it away with his cold hand.

“Do you want me to hum your lullaby?” Edward asked.

“Please…” His voice was so comforting.

He started to hum Bella’s lullaby, and it made me feel a little better, but I could only convince myself for so long that it was meant for me.

But it wasn’t.

There was only one more day till my flight to forks. One more day. One more day till I would finally get to see my Greek god.

I should have been filled with excitement and happiness, but I wasn’t.

Cayli still wasn’t talking to me. And I didn’t even have the courage to say goodbye…

Wait! That suddenly reminded me! The Eclipse book!

I went over to Rachel’s book shelf and grabbed the black book with the red ribbon on it.

The flipped the book open to page 232. It was saying that Charlie had no problem with me going to La Push for a… Bonfire with the Werewolves!

I closed the book. I was going to that Bonfire.

The slumber party was finally over! Wow, what an experience.

So when I got home, Charlie told me Jacob had called while I was away so he wrote it down on a piece of paper. It said exactly what it had said in Eclipse.

So now I was in Bella’s room, examining every inch of it because, finally, I had remembered something that happened in Eclipse.

The kidnapping of Bella’s belongings.

Many of Bella’s things were missing. I was waiting for Edward to come and examine the place. I hope my acting skills weren’t too rusty.

Maybe I didn’t even need it. I was just as terrified of Victoria as Bella had been in the book. Just the sound of her name creeped me out.

The doorbell rang. That would be Edward.

I pulled the door open with a big smile on my face.

“Give me two seconds,” Edward whispered. “Don’t move.” Then he disappeared.

In two seconds he was back. He put his arm around my waist and pulled me toward the Kitchen.

“Do you know who was here?” I asked him.

Edward looked confused. “How did you know someone was here?”

Whoops. “Umm… Well, some of my clothes were gone and I looked everywhere for them, but I couldn’t find them. Charlie said he didn’t take them.”

He froze. “Things with your scent.”

“We need to talk to Alice. She might have seen something.” Boy was I confident.

Edward called Emmett and Jasper while we drove to his house. He told them to sweep the woods.

Everyone was waiting for us as soon as we walked through the front door.

I was starting to get shaky…

I was watching them debate, listening as they listed the possible choices. None of them were right.

I whimpered the moment they suggested Victoria.

Everyone suddenly turned to me, but only Edward spoke.

“Bella, are you alright?”

“It’s Victoria.” I said, choking on the last word.

Edward gripped my shoulders. “It wasn’t Victoria, Bella. It isn’t a scent I recognize. It may be one of the Volturi.”

“No,” I said, my voice an octave higher. “It was the making of Victoria!” I shriveled to the ground, out of Edwards grip. A tear rolled down my cheek.

Edward picked me up, cradling me in his arms.

“I’ll take her home,” I heard him tell the others. “She needs rest.”

My vision was blurry. Everything was so dark…

The last thing I heared was Edward humming Bella's lullaby.
