Unforgettable

Summary:
And because I love you all for reviewing... Here's the sequel to 'Tears Don't Fall'. I apologize if I take longer to write this, I am plagued with Writer's Block often. Bella awakens from a long sleep, but finds that she does not remember Edward. Will Edward take this chance and leave Bella so to never hurt her again? Or will he spend her last waking moments with her? DISCLAIMER: All characters, real or fake, belong to Stephenie Meyer. This story is a result of my untamed imagination. Please don't sue me.

Notes:
Ah... This idea hit me like a brick wall. I'm doing this for all the people who want me to continue 'Tears Don't Fall'; but also for myself. I want to know how this will carry on.

When I opened my eyes, I was flying. Everything was so surreal. I was whizzing past a beautiful array of stars… But something was wrong about this dream. Where was my angel? Then it dawned on me. My angel was gone.

For real this time, my lids snapped open over my frantic eyes. I searched the darkness for my angel, and then when I did not see him, I let my lids close over my eyes once again, hoping that maybe, my angel would return in my dreams. A voice broke through the darkness.

Sudden light blinded me. Maybe this is hell, I thought to myself. Hell would be anywhere minus my angel. I blinked in the brightness, and made out the face of Charlie. His eyes were rimmed with red from crying so much. “Hello, Daddy. How are you?” I said as I found my voice. What I really wanted to ask was, ‘Where is my angel?’.

“I’m fine.” Charlie said in a broken voice, sitting on the side of my bed.

“Why are you crying?” Where is my angel?

“No reason. I’m just glad you’re awake.” I could see it in his eyes that he was lying.

I smiled weakly and then closed my eyes, hoping that the sudden burst of light would not interrupt my starlit dreams. The dream in which I was searching for my angel. But I was horrified to learn only seconds later that I could not remember the angel’s perfectly chiseled face.

Then the door creaked open. A handsome man, with startling topaz eyes, pale white skin and mussed red-brown hair made his way into the room. I found myself calmed at his presence for some strange, unknown reason. Though the fact that I couldn’t remember my angel’s face distressed me greatly, the young man’s face soothed my ruptured soul.

“Edward.” Charlie breathed, standing up to greet the young man. Edward. I love that name. I found myself thinking. “She’s awake.” Edward’s eyes flashed to my face, where he stared at me with relief for some unexplainable reason.

“Bella.” Edward moved to my side and his face was only inches from mine. His marvelous breath swirled in my face, making me very uncomfortable.

“Y-You’re standing too close,” I managed to whisper. A look of angst flashed across his face, and he inched backwards. “Dad - who is this?” I asked Charlie, using my most polite tone so as not to sound too rude to the unfamiliar guest.

“Bella - you don’t remember?” Charlie stammered. I shook my head to the best of my ability.

“He’s your husband, Bella.” I gaped at this fact. I was only eighteen. How could I be married to Edward?

“I’m not married.” I said. “I’m too young.”

“Bella…” Charlie began to speak, but the one named Edward held up one pale finger.

“Perhaps it is for the best, Charlie.” Edward said in his elegant voice. He pushed himself up and said his goodbyes, walking swiftly out of the room.

I found myself staring after this exquisite creature. Who was he, and what convinced Charlie that I was married to him?

Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!
