Edward's POV

It's ironic that a vampire gets a missile-proof car and 15 minutes after he buys it, locks the keys inside. I thought glumly as I stared at the Mercedes Guardian I had bought for Bella. The elusive keys were sitting tauntingly on the front seat, behind four thousand pounds of body armor and missile-proof windows. Sighing, I leaned against the car door in defeat. I really didn't want to have to break Bella's new car the day we got it. Luckily we had enough money to repair it, so that wouldn't be a problem. Still, I hated breaking anything that belonged to Bella. Better make it fast.

I spun around quickly and flung my fist at the window. As soon as it made contact, a searing pain shot up my arm. I fell to the ground screaming in pain.

"SON OF THE VOLTURI!!!!!" I yelped. My shout rang through the air and "called Emmett" to my aid.

"Have no fear! I'm a doctor!" Emmett declared, appearing in a white coat with a toy medical kit in hand.

"Stay away from me Emmett!" I told him, scooting backwards across the ground.

Emmett loomed over me, a toy thermometer in his giant hand.

"No-" I started to protest before he shoved it in my mouth. He turned the little dial.

"Uh-oh, Edward. You have a raging fever of 65 degrees! You're gonna die!"

I pushed Emmett off me and spat out the thermometer. "What is wrong with you?" I demanded.

Just as Emmett was about to reply, Carlisle burst through the front door.

"Emmett! Give me back my coat!"

Emmett grinned devilishly and took off. Carlisle had no choice but to chase him around the house. I would have helped, but my hand was still throbbing painfully. Finally, Carlisle cornered Emmett and snatched his coat back in one fluid movement.

Emmett sadly walked back to me. I glared at him and staggered to my feet.

"Carlisle stole my coat." Emmett told me.

"I can see that."

Emmett blinked. "So, why'd you punch the car?" he asked, his sense of humor returning.

"The keys are locked inside." I explained.

"And you couldn't get them out?" Emmett snickered, then aimed a punch at the window. A second later, he had collapsed to the floor, clutching his hand.

"SON OF THE VOLTURI!!!" he shouted.

"Exactly."

After hopping around clutching his hand, Emmett pulled a squeaky toy hammer out of his pocket. I raised my eyebrows and he grinned. Then, he whacked the window with the hammer. Squeak! He continued whacking it. Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! After repeated failure, he punched the door again.

"SON OF THE VOLTURI!"

"Okay, that obviously didn't work." I told him.

"So what do we do now?" Emmett asked, hopping up and down and shaking his hand.

I thought for a moment. Next to me, Emmett thought Ouch! Good thing I only hit it with my hand!

That gave me an idea.

"Okay Emmett. Here's what we'll do. I'll throw you at the car, and hopefully all of you at once will be enough force to break the door." I explained.

"You just read my mind, didn't you?" Emmett asked, narrowing his eyes.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said absently. I picked him up and held him over my head.

"Wait! Did you say hopefully before? Hopefully?" Emmett asked nervously.

"I meant most likely." I assured him.

"Oh," he breathed out, "Wait, shouldn't I be the one throwing you?"

"Too late for that," I answered and threw him at the car with all my strength.

"SON OF THE VOLTURI!!!!!!!!"

Emmett fell to the ground. There wasen't a scratch in the spot where I had thrown him. I snarled in frustration.

"Alright! Enough with bare contact! We will use technology," I announced over Emmett's shouts of pain and curses.

A few minutes later Emmett and I had aquired a giant flamethrower, courtesy of Jasper. (Don't ask me where he got it) We aimed precisely at the cursed front door.

"Do you know how to work one of these things?" Emmett asked.

"I haven't a clue." I told him. Then I proceeded to push every buttonon the flamethrower. A huge jet of flames burst from the end, and totally enveloped the car. For some reason, I quite enjoyed the sight. I pushed a few more buttons and the flames stopped to reveal... the car was totally undamaged.

"Nooooo!" I cried, falling to my knees.

"Hey, Edward?" Emmett asked. "What is the point of destroying the car to get the keys out? How would you use the keys?"

I looked at him for a moment. "This battle no longer has a point. I will destroy this car."

"Oh, right!"

"Time to use the forbidden weapon of the Cullen family." I smiled evily.

"Not the forbidden one!" Emmett gasped.

"It's the only thing that will work." I insisted.

"Okay." Emmett sighed.

We went into the garage and found the big red button that said. "Do Not Touch! ESPECIALLY YOU EMMETT!!!" Emmett pressed it excitedly. We hurried outside to watch as a giant missile unfurled itself from the side of the house. It zeroed in on the Guardian, and started humming with power. Finally, in a flash of light, the huge missile blasted toward the car. There was a huge explosion and quite an impressive mushroom cloud.

Emmett and I waited excitedly as the dust cleared. Finally, the cloud dissipated and revealed that the car was sitting, paint unscratched, in a circle of destruction and debris.

"Holy Victoria!" Emmett muttered.

I didn't have time to reply as Bella chose that moment to run out of the house.

"What the werewolf happened here?" she cried.

"C-car...keys...open," was all I could force out.

Bella reached into her pocket and pulled out... a spare key. I gaped at her. She walked over and easily opened the door. She took out the keys, and tossed them at me. I wasen't thinking enough to reach up and catch them. They hit me in the head.

"Oops! Sorry" Bella apologized. I wasen't listening.

"I should never have gotten you that car."
