(Alice’s POV) Bella.

She was sitting in passenger seat of her truck, with tears streaming down her beautiful porcelain cheeks. She was scared. Who was she with?

My vision was fuzzier than normal. Maybe it was because I hadn’t seen her in so long, I’m not sure. But it was also soundless.

Suddenly a women with red flowing hair, grabbed her neck jerking her toward her face. Bella fought back, but this women was too strong. She pushed and pushed against her solid body, but she didn’t budge. She moved down to her neck, then sunk her teeth in Bella’s skin.

Bella’s mouth opened as if she was screaming out for someone. I reached out to save her, but I couldn’t touch her. This was just a vision.

“NO!” I realized I had said this out loud and quickly closed my mind from Edward. He would be here in seconds to question me.

I kept my body still against Jasper. I could feel his eyes staring at me, no doubt he had felt my fear and pain. Please Jasper just wait, don’t worry I’ll explain this to you. I knew he couldn’t here me, but I hoped that he knew.

Edward came flying into the room. “Alice?” I kept my eyes closed tightly and continued blocking my mind from him. The fear in Bella’s eyes was still imbedded into my mind. I couldn’t let Edward see this.

They both started questioning me. Edward just kept pressing on and on, but I told him it didn’t concern us for a while. I knew that wouldn’t kill his curiosity, but just fuel it. Jasper was more worried for my well being. He hated seeing me in pain. My pain was literally his.

“…And why are you blocking me from seeing it if it’s not important?” Edward asked me.

I had forgotten that I was blocking him. I had practiced blocking his powers for this very reason. To protect myself and him. I instantly let him into my mind, but kept Bella locked away. Instead I thought about the very thing he could care less about, make-up and shopping. Then I decided to torture him more, just because he was too nosey, by picking out an outfit, considering every last detail to it.

Edward finally gave up and stormed out of the room. He slammed the door behind him and practically made it fall off the hinges. I knew that he’d continue listening even with him out of sight. I kept my thoughts on girlie things. He’d get sick of it soon, and then give up.

I turned to Jasper who was sitting wordlessly on the ground. He had hardly said anything during our conversation. He just kept staring at me. I went to sit down next to him. I took his hands in mine, and stared at him. He bent his head low and stared at our intertwined hands. He brought our hands up to his face, and kissed the back of my hand. Then he looked up at my me, and placed our hands back on his lap.

“I know Jasper. I’m sorry.”

We stared at each other for an immeasurable amount of time. No words were ever needed between the two of us. It had always been like that. We connected on a entirely different level. What would I do if I didn’t have him?

“Don’t ever feel that.”

He had felt the waves of ache that had suddenly came with the thought of me never having him.

“I’m sorry. I love you.” I kissed his perfect full lips. Then pulled away gently. Our foreheads were resting against each other as we continued with our moment.

“I love you too.”

I pulled away from him, but left my hand placed in his.

Of course Edward came storming through our door again.

“I can’t stay here anymore. You with your visions you don’t want to share. All of your constant thoughts of resentment for me leaving Bella. And then everyone else trying to give me advice. I’m leaving.”

“Where you going?” Jasper asked.

I already knew that he was leaving, and where he was going.

“Ask Alice she probably had a vision that she’s not sharing with everyone.”

I don’t know why your mad at me, I’m not the one that left Bella alone.

“That’s not fair Alice!”

I turned away from him.

“We all left her. Did you forget that!”

Everyone’s relationship had been strained by the fact that he made us all leave her back in Forks. I was angry at him for making me leave my best friend. Esme and Carlisle didn’t agree with him, but didn’t fight him. Emmett and Jasper were also mad at him for leaving her, they felt as though they had lost a sister. And Rosalie…well, she was just mad that she had to leave Forks. It didn’t really matter that Bella was hurting.

“What’s not fair is that you keep playing this game! You know just as well as everyone else that it was wrong to leave Bella!”

I was so mad at him. All the pent up frustration, and all the things I kept from saying to his face, were now flowing out like an unstoppable hurricane.

“Ah!” he yelled and then let out a growl. “I can’t stay here anymore, I’m leaving. This argument is pointless. It’s done, and she’ll be safer because we left.”

It took everything in me not to shoot back with, “No she wouldn’t.”To tell him that he was an idiot for leaving and that she was probably now in worse danger then if we had stayed. We would have been able to protect her.

Edward had disappeared and I heard his car start, then screech off into the night.

“Alice why do you have to put all that on him now? You know that he’s already hurting.” Esme had come into the room, after hearing all the commotion.

“Because I know I’m right.”

“Well of course you’re right. We all know that he was wrong, but this was his choice and we have to stand by it.”

“It was the wrong choice…” I stood up and looked at Jasper who hadn’t said a word. “Do you want to come running with me?” I asked him.

“Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.” He stood, and then we dashed out of the room, before Esme could continue.
