I turned around but there was no one there. I looked around the room, but we were still the only ones here.

“James?” she said again.

She was staring right at me. What was she talking about? Had she totally lost her mind?

“What’s wrong with you?” My hands flew to my mouth, as the dark voice that came out wasn’t mine, but hideously familiar. A voice that had once sent shivers down my spine.

“James, that is you.” She started walking towards me, her arms open trying to embrace me.

I put my hand out and pushed her away. “Stop! I’m not James.” She stumbled back and just stared back at me.
At that moment my arms came into view. They weren’t mine. Big manly arms had taken there place. I touched my own arms, feeling the smooth, but yet rough skin.

“What the hell is going on?!” I screamed.

Every word that came out of my mouth wasn’t me. I looked at Victoria, but she just kept staring at me with some weird look in her eyes. I sprinted up stairs to the room I had awoken in. I stepped in front of the mirror, the full frame of my body finally coming into view.

It was James. I stepped back almost falling over my own feet. I touched my face, my arms, my stomach, it was me, but in James body. I went closer to the mirror and touched it. It was really me, but where had I gone. I started to panic. What the heck was going on? Was this normal, if so, someone should have told me about it.

Victoria had followed me up the stairs. She just stood in the door way watching me freak out. The panic was consuming me. I couldn’t stay in this body forever. Where had I gone? I stared at my hands, they slowly started turning back to my own. The huge hands, turned back into my small feminine fingers. I looked in the mirror and watched as I slowly transformed back into myself.

When it was over, my fingers felt all over my body making sure it was me. I had returned. Victoria walked up to me and touched my cheek. She was looking me up and down, shaking her head. Her eyes wide with what looked like fear.

“Incredible.” she finally said, as she walked around me over and over again.

“What the hell was that?” My voice was shaken.

“That’s your power.” she simply said.

“My power is turning into your dead mate.” I said coldly.

She looked up at me with anger in her eyes. I wasn’t sorry for what I just said.

“No.” she said with malice. “Your power is transforming. You can become anyone you want, you can take on their voice, their smell. You can become everything they are.”

“What? Are you serious?”

She was still circling me scrutinizing every inch of body.

“Absolutely. In all my years, I have never heard of anyone having your ability. You are very special.”

She stopped circling and now was standing directly in front of me. She had a mischievous smile from ear to ear.

“I’m not part of your coven.” I said defiantly.

“Oh but Bella, think of the things we could do with you. We would be able to take over those Cullen’s in seconds. But more importantly we would even be able to take over the Volturi. We could become the strongest most powerful family.”

“No way. No way, will I be part of your coven and no way will I help you take out the Cullen’s or the Volturi. You’re on your own.” I walked away from her and sat on the couch.

“Bella think about it. The power we could have. Everyone would fear us, they would listen to our every word.” She followed me and sat down on the couch.

“I don’t want power. I didn’t even want this! And I definitely don‘t want people being afraid of me!” I hated what I had become. This is at all how I had imagined becoming a vampire.

“How selfish you are, what I would give to have the power you have.”

“What I would give for you to have just left me alone. What I would give to be home with my family…with Jacob. Jacob…”

I had totally forgot about him. He must be thinking the most horrible things. What if he wasn’t ok? The vampires Victoria had sent. I can’t believe he never crossed my mind until now. And Charlie, he must be worried sick.

“What have you done to me?!” I stood up and started pacing around the room.

“You have an incredible gift. You’re probably one of the most strongest vampires alive. Your strength alone is incredible, there’s no way I could win against you, I struggled down stairs. But now you have this gift too. Your could do amazing things.”

In one fast movement, I reached across the room and tore her apart. She made me this way, she had eternally damned me. She dragged me away from my family and now they would feel indescribable amounts of pain from losing me because of her.

I went into her garage, and found a container filled with gasoline. I ran through the house spilling it all over everything. I pulled her car out of the garage and parked it a few yards away. Then I returned and lit a match and threw it into a puddle of gasoline.

The house instantly caught on fire. I got into her car and drove away. Letting Victoria and James, and all the painful memories of the past week catch fire and burn to ashes.
