Broken Dreams

Summary:
Noelani Clearwater knows what it's like to have a vampire for a mom. She knows what it's like to have a werewolf for a dad too. She's a hybrid, half werewolf and half vampire. There's a new vampire in town and he's different from most vampires. It's not just his thirst for Noelani's blood (blood that no other vampire has ever thirsted for seeing as it's werewolf blood with vampire venom) there's something else. Maybe it's his strange silver eyes or rare power. He's a dream walker and he's walking all over Noelani's dreams. Noelani has to make the two opposite parts of her become one. Two parts that aren't meant to go together. On top of that she now has to figure out what this new vampire is really all about. You might be a bit confused if you have not read Broken Love and Broken Souls. This is the third story in the Broken series.

Notes:
I do not own all that stuff that Stephenie Meyer owns. You should know what that stuff is. I did make up Noelani, her mother, her friends, some of the werewolves imprints, and all of the werewolves kids. Enjoy the story!

Chapter 3: The Dream Walker

Matt wasn’t at school the next day. Zack wasn’t there either. I sat at a table surrounded by all of my many friends at lunch and still felt lonely. I gazed off into space, thinking.

A slide show of images seemed to run through my head. There was Zack smiling at me with amusement from across the English room. Now it was Matt winking from a few seats away in science class. Then Zack was glaring at me like it took all of his self control not to attack me before running off. Next I saw Matt’s depressed, broken expression while he whispered that he loved me more then Zack ever would.

“Lainy. Lainy! LAINY! LAINY!!!!”

“Huh?” I jumped and shook my head.

“Lainy I’ve been asking you the same question for forever!” Cindy said.

“Sorry I was… thinking,” I told her.

“Are you alright?” Lindsey looked genuinely concerned.

“I’m fine,” I assured her.

“This isn’t about the breakup with Matt is it?” Misty asked.

“NO!” I snapped loudly.

When I got home from school my dad was at work as usual. He worked in the back of Jacob’s shop, helping him fix cars where nobody could see him. My mom was home though. I hugged her and told her about my day. There was no use trying to hide anything from her. Even though her mind reading powers didn’t work on me she still seemed to always know what I was thinking.

“According to Embry Matt phased and ran away yesterday. He hasn’t come back. If he’s not back by tonight they were going to send Derek Black to bring him home,” my mom said.

“Was that supposed to make me feel better?” I groaned.

“No, I was simply stating a fact,” mom told me.

I rolled my eyes.

“Honey, listen,” my mom put her arm around me. “This isn’t your fault. Don’t feel bad for imprinting. If your dad hadn’t imprinted on me then I would still be crying over Jasper. If you imprinted that means that you’re meant for each other. Ignoring the fact that you imprinted would deny you of a lot of happiness.”

I nodded and thanked her. Then I headed up to my room to think some more and do my homework. I stayed in my room until dinner time. I told everyone who called that I was too busy to hang out.

It took a while to fall asleep that night. When I finally drifted off I had a strange dream. I was wandering in the forest when I came to a pond full of perfectly clear water and brightly colored fish. It was surrounded by millions of tiny white daisies.

“There you are. I was beginning to wonder if I had the wrong dream.” A strange voice spoke from behind me.

I turned around. Standing behind me with moonlight reflecting in his silver eyes and lighting up his dark hair was Zack Spin. I gasped with surprise. He looked too real to be a dream. While everything around him was hazy his image appeared sharp and bold.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“I’m a dream walker. I can enter and exit anybodies dreams when ever I want to. You’re the first person to ever awaken bloodlust in me. It had me curious,” he replied.

“Why weren’t you at school today? Why did you run away when I tried to talk to you yesterday? Why are your eyes silver? Why…”

"Aren’t you just full of questions?” Zack cut me off.

“Sorry,” I said without really meaning it.

He smiled. “It’s fine. The first two questions I’ve already answered. I can’t come near you without going crazy from the need to drink your blood.”

“What happens to you if I wake up while you’re still in my dream?” I wondered.

“My body stays unmovable and empty while my mind is trapped inside of yours until you sleep again,” he told me.

I shuddered. “How horrible!”

He nodded. “I’ve got to go. See you tomorrow night Noelani.”

The next morning I jerked awake with the feeling that something or someone was watching me. I looked around the room until I spotted a pair of big shining eyes staring at me from my closet. I screamed when whatever it was leapt out of the darkness and came right towards me.
