Chapter Nine-Never Loved Before

(Alan Jackson)
Girl I swear you got me acting crazy
Half the time I don't know what my name is
I’m the kind that like to take it slow and lazy
And girl you got me running hot and haziest

(Chorus)
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never loved before

(Martina McBride)
Boy you got me burning like a rocket
You stole my heart and stuck it in your pocket
Now I got your face inside my locket
I’ve really tried but I don’t think I can stop it baby

(Chorus)
Oh I, love you like I never
Oh I, love you like I never
Oh I, love you like I never loved before

(Alan Jackson)
You sat beside me last night on the sofa
I took your hand and pulled you little closer
You kiss my lips and then you let me hold you
That feels the way that love supposed to baby

(Chorus)
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never loved before

(Martina McBride)
You held the door when we went to the movies
I like your corky sneaky sense of humor
You’re strong and sweat and all the things I needed
You’re the one that keeps my heart beating baby

(Chorus)
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never loved before

(Martina McBride)
Oh, my heart stops beating
When it’s time for you to leave me

(Alan Jackson)
Yeah, and my head starts spinning
Every time that you are near me

(Chorus)
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never loved before

(Chorus)
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never
Oh, I love you like I never loved before

Jacob’s POV

I waited anxiously as several emotions crossed her face. “Yes.” She whispered so quietly I almost didn’t here.

“Yes?” I had to ask. When it came to Jenny I couldn’t trust my senses.

“Yes.” She said louder this time. “Yes, I will marry you Jake.” Then she kissed me. And I mean really kissed me. We spent the next few minutes playing tongue tag with each other. When we did break apart we were both panting.

“I love you.” I whispered in her ear as I hugged her to me.

“I love you too.” She whispered back. I slipped the ring onto her left ring finger and then kissed her once more.

I wanted to pick her up and swing her around the room, but I settled for sitting next to her on the bed as she yawned. Just being close to her was enough for me. I settled her gently against her pillows and brushed a last kiss across her lips. “I think it’s time for bed for someone.” I said as she yawned again.

“Mmmmhmmmm.” She mumbled as she closed her eyes and rolled over. I stood up and immediately her eyes shot open. “You’re leaving?” She asked with an adorable pout on her face.

“Do you want me to stay?” I asked cautiously. Usually I would have stayed anyways, but tonight was special and overwhelming and I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries.

“Yes.” She whimpered looking up at me through her lashes. “Unless you want to go?” She said, her statement coming out like a question, before glancing away from my gaze. I smiled at her gently before climbing back onto the bed lying down next to her, wrapping my arm over her waist.

“Does that answer your question?” I whispered against her neck.

“I love you.” She murmured quietly, sleepily.

I chuckled quietly. “I love you too, but you need sleep.”

“’Kay” She said as she drifted off into the land of dreams or wherever. I settled myself comfortably and fell asleep holding her close so that I would never have to let her go.

Jennifer’s POV

I awoke the next morning to find that I had thrown the sheets off at some point during the night and I realized that must have been because of the super heat radiating ff Jake. I turned to smile at his still sleeping form. I wiggled myself out of her arms and went into the bathroom. I spent a good 10 or 20 minutes just staring at the ring on my finger. Finally I turned the shower on and continued staring at the ring while it heated.

When it was comfortable I stripped and stepped in immediately relaxing under the warm spray of water. I washed myself carefully, avoiding the healing wounds. They were still tender to the touch. I breathed in the sent of my coconut scented shampoo as I started shaving. It was a pain in the ass, but no one likes prickly legs. Then I turned off the water and stepped out.

I wrapped myself in a big fluffy towel and started to comb out my wet hair. I growled in frustration at the knots that seemed to form no matter what. Eventually I gave up and just pulled it back into a ponytail. I slipped on the bra and panties that I’d brought with me into the bathroom and slipped my robe on over them.

Satisfied, I went back into my room and grabbed my book, Nineteen Minutes by Jody Picoult, off the windowsill where it was set last. I flipped it open to my page and settled down in the rocking chair to get into the story.

Jacob’s POV

When I woke up Jenny was curled up in the rocking chair with her book open on her lap. Her hair was wet so I figured she had taken a shower and I attempted to keep my mind out of the gutter when I thought of her and a shower. I mentally slapped myself. Don’t be stupid and make yourself look like a complete fool. I told myself.

I looked up and saw Jenny staring at me with an amused expression on her face. “Is there something interesting on the wall?” She asked.

I realized I had been staring off into space and I felt a rare blush creeping up the back of my neck. God this woman could make me do anything. I smiled at her. “No I was just thinking.” She closed her book and stood up. She set her book down where she was sitting and curled up against me.

“What about?” She asked looking up at me.’

“You.” I answered truthfully. She smiled and leaned her up so she could kiss me. This was a great way to start a morning.
